If anything, the team we just faced probably best neutralized that usually huge advantage with their ability to start Grienke and Kershaw four times.

The term 'gutsy performance' can be thrown around at timea, but how deGrom only let two runs score os a near miracle. 57 pitches with a man in scoring position. Just awesome.

Yep. For as bad as the Mets' offense was this series, they scored 13 runs in the one game they didn't face Kershaw or Greinke.

Usually guys like Murph creating, stealing or lucking into 2-3 runs through the first 7-8 innings is the only way to win against elite pitchers. You see Cespedes or Duda and its embarrasing how bad the swings and at bats are. But, a stray bad pitch, or when you get past that layer of pitching things can light up pretty quick.

His leadership and clubhouse presence are huge pluses. Now, I dont remember a team with this much positive cohesion in their roles on field, in clubhouse and non baseball lives, but he brings a lot - a professional, solid all around veteran.

DIVISION SERIES CHAMPS problems.

 
Glad I didn't get pulled over. I was racing home trying to see the last pitch. Got 3 blocks from my house but who cares!

All I have to say is that deGrom has some ####### stones on him battling through all that. It felt like it should have been 8-1 and all of a sudden it's 2-2.

Love this team. Hell of a series.

There was a lot of prepping for the inevitable. Down 2-1 against Grienke? Let up even one and its a mountain... could have easily been 5-1 Grienke and a pen.

This is our staffs virgin series mind you! how sweet is that. deGrom bending as much as possible, but battled and didnt break.

degrom can come back on 5 days rest for game 3

Lester and Arietta at Citi field and potentially degrom/Syndagaard at Wrigley in game 3/4?

Maybe Colon gets a start?

I always like when one of my teams makes the playoffs for the first time just to get the experience under their belt. That's what I was hoping for this team to start the year and at the trade deadline. Just get in and learn what it takes and bring on 2016. If this is as far as they go, I'm sure we'll all be proud but damn...it's hard not to think big. Unfortunately, I'm still staggered by the 2015 NY Rangers. One game at a time.

I would have been pissed if they lost but it would be a legit rationale, imo. If they had dominated all year would be one thing, but they gave us a great second half and took this to five. Bring on 2016! But now...who knows? 2 teams new to the playoffs in recent history. NY vs. Chicago! Wow!

My cousin (first cuz, lives close in BK) is actually fairly close friends with him - no I have not met him, bu imagine he'd be fun to watch a game with. Well, a win at least.

It could also have a Matz v Stroman game. Those two were roommates at one time or something. I believe they started against each other in an amateur game.
 
Almost pulled trigger on tickets for tonight. 200 for left field 130s section.

Couldn't get anyone to go with me and if I bring my 9year old daughter it becomes a 500 night.

I'm not the type to just go alone to these things.

Id join ya if I didnt still have a tube sticking out of me. Its also one of the best ballparks to actually watch a game from almost any concourse, incl field level. If healthy could go with standing room even and enjoy.

I once went to a Mets game alone. The Mets beat the Giants on a game ending homer by Piazza.
