Big picture sure, but break it down and see we had our stud closer on the mound needing 2 outs to win and it's pretty upsetting.

 
Some ugly stats...

Last 5 world series game 1 winners have gone on to win the series, 17 of the last 20.

Def a hole, but I'm heavily invested in this one, LETS GO METS!!

As my brother told me, they stopped looking back in 1996 because that's the last time a New York team went down 2-0. It's about time the ####### NY junior varsity steps up and acts like a New York varsity team. Let's beat these ####### clowns.

Mets 2 world series wins they lost game 1.

Including dropping the 1st 2 in Shea to Boston

:shrug:

Mets can afford to lose tonight as well.

I'm not panicking until we lose a home game and even at that point let's see what the series looks like.

 
Sara Evans was one of my all time top sources. She sung the National Anthem tonight. This might be a good sign.

 
So the Royals are set to win the World Series on the Mets field and get their rings at home in front of the Mets in April. Well, good fuel for the Mets in 2016.

Take this #### somewhere else. It's still game 2. And the last times the Mets won the WS they went down 2-0.

Not even remotely similar. That Met team was destined to win that title. They were far better than everyone they played and were able to turn it on like a switch when they got to Boston.

Top to bottom KC is a better team here and after last year they might be destined to win this.

The 1986 team was significantly better than the 2015 team. Also, the 2015 Royals are probably a better team than the 1986 Red Sox.
 
Need to come out shot out of a canon Friday night. This KC lineup is not impressed or intimidated by our studs and will not be getting shut down. Will be up to the offense to go toe to toe with theirs.

I'm not confident at all.

 
I don't know if I've seen DeGrom pitch that badly all year. His 0-2 pitches, especially, were just horrific. That's something that needs to be addressed before game 3 with the pitching staff and d'Arnaud, because they can't just try and throw fastballs down the plate and past these hitters.

With that said, this series is far from over.

 
Impressed with the Royals hitters - relentless and they somehow know what's coming.

Only 4 K's total from Harvey & deGrom starts is hard to believe.

Wright & Cespedes just not hitting. Had no problems against Kershaw, Greinke & Arrieta - but can't hit Volquez and Cueto?

Not sure how they turn this around? Onto NY we go - you gotta believe !?!

-Biggest concern is our strength is the K and Harvey/deGrom combine for 4ks

Have to find a way to change this or this isn't going back to KC

-Other concern

23 innings played only scoring runs in 5 of those innings and ZERO multiple run scoring innings.

We're playing like its May/June again

With that said, they ain't dead but they have to win on Friday.

Fuel up the jet. We still want to visit Kansas City 1 last time.

This was my biggest issue, BY FAR. Just grooving 0-2 and 1-2 pitches consistently.

 
Cespedes in Center

Conforto in LF

Lagares sits.

Collins putting his strongest offensive lineup out there - now if only Cespedes can get his head out fo his ***.
