Is Matz going this 1st week? Haven't seen anything official after the first 3.  Last I saw it may depend on how Syndagaard performs in his start...

You're right. I also liked that his changeup was a lot faster than Young's fastball yesterday.

On another note, it's very nice to have a second baseman who doesn't inspire terror on every ground ball hit to him.

 
Anyone trying to go to the home opener tomorrow? Have a buddy with a couple extras in the upper deck he's selling. 

 
Those tickets got moved but just a heads up that I split a season ticket package with a friend this year with the intent of going a few times a month, big games, and hopeful playoff access. 

If anyone is ever looking for tix to random games, let me now and I'll just sell them at the season ticket holder price. We'll be stubhubbing a lot but better off for us to save the selling fee and you to save the buying fee. 

They're in the Promenade Reserved between home and 3rd, closer to home, and 5th row. 

 
Would love to hit up the opener, but not going to work out.  I have scheduled a "doc appointment" at 1PM, so I can finish the day working while watching. 

 
We should pick a date for a little Citi Cornhole... find some meh series that has low prices on stub hub or something.  I'd look into group sales but not sure we could get enough for that. 

Tremendous Upside, Yanks fan he was, was my goto Mets partner when I didnt just hit up a game on my own.  Gotta keep on the tradition of FBG representation.

Definitely concerning at this point.  Question is, what? Velocity is down, has had some little issues... the one big concern this year and the biggest unknown is how the extra innings last year, postseason, will affect our young staff.  Hopefully this is minor and he can work his way through it.

 
If I can move a meeting, will hit up Wed game - it's a 1:10 and should be close to 60 at least.  Will be watching tonight from some bar somewhere east side (Murray Hill? MT East?) with my middle aged frat boy crew :thumbup:

Can Collins survive a 7-13 start? Last year they had an obvious interim manager (Bob Geren) if needed. I am not sure who would be the interim manager if Collins were to get canned this season.

A trip to the World Series doesn't give him a full season? A trip made possible by sweeping what was the hottest team entering the playoffs.

No. He didn't exactly get much of an extension. He should not and I don't think he can survive a rotten start. The pitching and lineup is too good. The team should be fine. There is no reason to panic. But, if things don't change and we are 20 games into the season, something could happen.

He probably should get a full season.  Plus, the Wilpons wont want to pay for two guys at once.
