Conforto is really coming along.

2/3 vs Cin and they'll be 12-8.

They need to get ao.e wins under their belt with this soft early schedule.

Washington and the Cubs are looking lethal

Washington still feels fragile to me... with their personalities, could unravel at any time, although I do believe their new skipper helps on that front.  Between fragile arms and ego, it's a long season.

The Cubs seem just sick, and may have the best pitcher in baseball right now (I can't remember so much elite pitching as we do now)

That is okay. Five teams get to make the playoffs. The cubs might be one. They could be beat in the playoffs again.

Had the pleasure of sitting about 15 rows behind home plate last night thanks to a friend. Hell of an experience with Thor pitching.

8 HRs for Walker is insane.

Met fans have seen so many players go to other teams and excel or big names come here and stink up the joint. It's nice to have someone come here and play above expectations.

For however long it lasts.

The 8 HRs are awesome, but having sure handed gloves up the middle is the real joy of this new IF. I recall the #####ing about lack of range when the trade happened, but as I mentioned then, having confidence for the basic plays helps a pitching oriented team so much, and because we have such great pitching I presume range is slightly less important if for no other reason than they induce weaker contact overall

I was the one who made the comment about his lack of range and I wasn't #####ing about it.  Just making an observation as a Pirates fan who watched him for many years.  His glove was always fine.  He was once a very good defender but his range has declined over the years.  As you mention, that may not be a big issue in NY with the pitching.  Anyways, if he continues to jack 10 HRs a month, who cares about range.  So far, I would say the Mets won that trade.

Fair enough. And not to say range doesn't matter, but we had crap range, crap gloves and lack of solid professional play. Such an improvement for us.

I believe this is the second year in a row that D'arnaud has gotten injured on the first day of a new week, so he is giving me the same amount of points as Mackey Sasser.

:ptts:

What's going on with Wheeler? When is he due back and will he have a spot in the rotation?
Not until early July. Knocking on wood that everyone is healthy then, they'll probably switch to a 6-man for a while anyway. They're going to want to showcase his health before the deadline.

He is slated to come back in July. If the starters are all healthy at the time, then there may be a 6-man rotation for a short spell. Colon would then go to the bullpen or a trade may occur.

Finally settling in - a week ago everyone was still talking about the surging Nats and how this was going to be this year. Now, not to say it won't be, but we are only a game back and are looking every bit the champion caliber team we should be even with some early season struggles with pitching and some injuries.

Of course the day Im popping off about professional IF defense Walker boots one, but I'll take that if it means a follow up HR in the next PA.

I'm legitimately in love with Conforto.
Yep.

I'm not following mainstream mlb news much so not sure how much notoriety he is getting and I'm sure the lack of many HRs may keep him somewhat hidden from the spotlight but he is a nice gem of a hitting machine.

Hope he keeps it up

That was enormous from Bastardo. Dropping 3 of 4 to the Padres while the Nats were getting swept would have been a tremendous waste. Not that a split was ideal but that one game swing felt huge.

Huge job pitching out of that mess.  This team still knows how to win.

The Mets/Dodgers game is on MLB Network, with the NYM broadcast team. Does Keith Hernandez always drone on and on and on...and on? He talks more than the play-by-play guy.

So, I live up in Glen Cove by the water - you aren't going down my street unless you live right around there or are visiting someone since it's not "on the way" to anywhere.

Three times now including about 30 min ago I've seen Cespedes'jeep.  At first I thought it just similar or a copy cat, but it's got 52 on the side and Aforza label... Same as he had in Florida during spring training.

i wonder if he has a pad overlooking the water up my way (some really nice estates are around) and/or if one of his posse drives this monster around.

Just dropped a suit at Rothmans for tailoring. There was this awesome baby blue/yellow plaid suit sitting on the tailoring rack at the end, I looked at the label and it said "Noah Syndergaard"... Must've just missed him :kicksrock:

I know Duda has looked like doody but I can't believe TC is starting ####### Eric Campbell over him tonight.

Now Collins is saying Sandy "misspoke" and Duda has a stiff back.

Thor outduels the $200 million dollar Scherzer.  The Mets have $600 million worth in Starting pitching that they're paying peanuts for.  Really makes you smile and frightened at the same time.  They better lock up Noah/Matz at the very least.

Yea, kinda going through this with a "enjoy it while it lasts" type of mindset.

Really hope the Mets get creative and don't let any of these guys walk.

Still burns me that Reyes just walked away after a batting title.

If you didn't hear the stat during the broadcast...Bart hadn't walked two guys back to back since 2007. Then he did it twice tonight. Most walks given up since 2005.

Sounds like a guy who's had a very distracting couple of days.

You guys need to keep the worst fan in this forum on a short leash, or this thread will suffer.

Anyone rooting for a team who hasn't won anything in 30 years should probably tread lightly.  Makes all New York fans look stupid IMO, this is the guy you hear about on talk radio pooping in the sink at the ballpark while drunk.  Sure Dildo is a High School dropout and has done jail time, but no one outside of this thread cares.  Keep your animals in line Mets fans!

Oh my.  Lol.

Doolittle do ya need a hug man?  You might be the most pathetic fantasy message board poster/lurker/weak excuse for a grown man.  Hahah.  For real, man up and step away from keyboard/phone.
