Got 4 tix for Wednesday. Could have gotten for Friday but couldnt do twice with a pregnant wife

Would have preferred Friday but my friend and I split it and I got in first

"The Fixer," the first single from the upcoming album, was released at midnight PT today.

Here's a youtube version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF3Cp47r-YY

PJ obsessives buzz seems to be pretty down on it

Defintely poppy/catchy, not sure I love the lyrics

WIll have to give it several more listens
Not a huge fan. I liked "Got Some" much better.
Agreethis goes in the "wishlist" pile for me

doesn't hurt to hear it, can appreciate the melody, etc, but does nothing for me

On the flip side on this one after a couple of listens...liking this better than "Got Some" (could be the ####ty sound from Conan, so I am willing to reserve judgement once I hear the album version). Not a major statement, but a good, solid song with pop leanings, which is ok by me (not all tunes need to RAWK to the max!)

First listen - not bad, not great.....but typically this is how it usually is for most PJ songs for me. Once I get it in heavy rotation, there's rarely a song I don't like.

Pearl Jam really showing more pop sensibility on The Fixer. Very different for them, from a song crafting standpoint... nice to see more growth/subtle changes/moving forward. What a great f'n band!

Gotta say, this is growing on meStill don't love the lyrics as a whole, but found myself standing in line for coffee this AM with "fight to get it back again; yeah yeah yeah" in my headAlso love the piano fill a bit before the two minute mark

My first thought was EV channeling Tom Petty on the lyrics/delivery of this tune... love it!

It's definitely got some Petty influences in there, I hear some Who also

I like The Fixer better than Got Some. Gives me a little more hope for this album. I didn't really like the last one. I did like Riot Act, didn't really like Binaural and loved the first five. The Fixer is getting some radio play in Los Angeles, by the way.

Is this the new single? I heard a song yesterday and the DJ said it was off of Pearl Jam's new album. I thought these guys were my pops' band, but I rocked outrageous through the whole song.

Thank you, TU. I bow to your greatness!

LOVE Speed of Sound after hating the Fixer. I got chills down my spine when he hits that first chorus. Wow. Eddie's voice is in top notch form on everything I've heard so far.

TU, you coming to the Spectrum shows? We have a tailgate planned for each night with a party school bus planned for the Friday show. Please join us again!!

I'll be there! In for Wed and Fri and waiting patiently for additonal show infoPumped for some sweet Spectrum tailgate action

The Spectrum tailgate is gonna be off the hook, yo. Cold beers, the brisk autumn air, new PJ blasting thru the stero speakers. Ahh man, so ####### far away. LOL.

Now all we need is the full album leak! Can't wait!!!

I just read that Ted Leo is going back out with PJ but so is Bad Religion for tour dates this month.

Would love to see Bad Religion with PJ in Philly. Anyone know who will be opening in October yet?

I've seen BR about 10 times or so but would love to hear kerosene or struck a nerve with Ed.

Seeing PJ Live tomorrow here in Calgary! Can't wait! I have all the new stuff queued up in Winamp to prep for the show.

Can't wait to see Eddie wailing away again! It's been too long, Eddie! It's been too long!

Looks like Monday might be D Day for announcement of the long rumored Saturday Halloween show in Philly

Longtime PJ fan and WMMR deejay Matt Cord teased a big PJ Philly announcement on Monday and the Spectrum's twitter apparently tweeted a new show announcement for monday (no band mentioned)

ARRRRRRRRRGH ! Bad Religion AND Pearl Jam?? ### #### IT !!!! WHY ??? WHY NOT WHEN I WAS THERE ?!?!?!?

You guys go in for the opening acts? I usually pound beers in the parking lot until the last possible moment.
depends on the location and the opening bandIf it's a band I want to see yesAlso, if I am seeing 5-6 shows in a row with the same opener I usually try to get in to see them once to see if they're any goodAlso depends on quality of tailgateHere in NYC there isn't any tailgatingSo beer isn't all that much more expensive inside than it is at bar
