Big update for you Garden-goers.My buddy that was in DC with me is there for both Garden shows.....he's hearing a CRAZY rumor....They are going to play all of No Code or Yield straight thru one of the nights.I'm trying to confim his sources right now. I don't see how something like this could leak, so I'm not sure about it. I did hear Neil Young rumors in Toledo for the Vote for Change show....those were true, but that is a little different. But, they have deep dived into No Code this tour.......what haven't they played? In My Tree, Habit, Smile, Mankind and Around the Bend.... I guess that's more than I thought.edit for source: some guy he talked to knows Jeff. (tifwiw)
Why can't it be Ten or Vs? Joke....cool stuff.
While that would be great...I honestly think I'd rather hear No Code or Yield....they play so much off Ten and Vs anyways.

I'll throw up a Camden Tour Recap while I kill the next 1 1/4 hours until I get out of work:So I board my Amtrak to Philly at noon on Thursday, and 90 minutes of Bonnaroo boot bliss later, I am standing in the beautiful city of Brotherly Love...A quick cab raid later, and I meet TF and Zilla in the lobby of our hotel, the Westin PhiladelphiaNow this is a legit nice hotel, 4* according to priceline, but for some reason they accepted my 100/night bid, so we are now standing in the lobby with 3 duffel bags, two air mattresses, and several pillows and blankets...Yeah, we look like we belong here...We lug our stuff up to the lobby level (I have found the niceness of a hotel is often in direct proportion to the # of elevators you have to take to get from your car to your room...In this case it was 3), and I go to check in...I had requested a double, but over the phone they had told me it would likely be a single...Well they had a double for us, but we'd have to wait an hour or soWe drop our load of crap off with the concierge, and take to the mean streets of Center City in search of a beer as well as some beer for tailgating...TF and Zilla have informed me that apparently unlike normal cities, in Philly you can't just buy beer anywhere, so we're trying to figure out where we're getting beer for tailgating...As we're discussing this, a disarmingly nice dude in some kind of uniform comes up to us and asks us if he can help us...Apparently Philly has people walking around helping tourists find stuff...Brotherly Love indeed! As a New Yorker I assume everyone who comes up to me on the street wants to beg for money or sell me drugs, so this was a pleasant surprise...He directs us to an Irish pub several blocks away, but a block in we spot a Ruby Tuesdays, and as we're just grabbing a brew, we scrap the Irish pub idea and sit downWhile Zilla bemoans the current state of his fantasy baseball teams and I watch soccer on TV, we ask our lovely young waitress if she knows where we can get beer...It was like a high school flashback...(Hey man, you know where we can get some beer?")...Only we're in our 30s and she couldn't have been a day over 22...To the detriment of her service to her other tables (seriously, the party that got their like 20 minutes before us got their food after us b/c she was helping us out) she hunted down an address and wrote out directions for us...She also took the time to reassure us that even though it was South Philly, it was safe... :lmao: The NYC, New Orleans and DC residents were very relieved to hear this from the 22 year old blonde waitress...Part II Upcoming
Great start!Priceline is amazing. I've only used it a few times but I've been floored with the deals I've gotten. For DC, a 4-star Hyatt (Hotwire had it listed for $250+taxes) accepted my $80 bid, so it was about $100 after taxes. Then they nabbed us $42 to valet park. WTF! Still, a great deal and it was not even 10 minute walk to the venue.
Got a 4* hotel in Downtown NOLA for our anniversary this weekend for $61 (+$15 tax) via priceline :goodposting:

So we head onto the grounds, and we head over to the merch table in front of us to see if they had any posters left, but they didn't, so we headed inside...

The Susquehanna Bank Center is your typical summer amphitheater, with two sections and a lawn...

TF and Zilla headed down to their 10C seats while I went to find my TM seat...

I was VERY happy with where I ended up...I was dead center on the aisle in the first row of the second section...I had a walkway in front of me and then two VIP boxes a bit below, so I had a great unobstructed view of the stage...

We expected PJ to come on at 8:45ish, but it got to be 9, and despite hearing the piano intro they are using this tour once already, no band...At this time these two hot strippers come and sit in the VIP section right in front of me...They were dressed in tiny halters and painted on low slung blue jeans with their whale tails on full display...This was an interesting experience all night long, as they bumped and grinded with each other to every Pearl Jam song...They treated Low Light like it was Pour some Sugar On Me...They would rub each other's breasts and then some dudes came over and they started grinding with them...It was hilarious..>Security must have come over to check their tickets 10X, but they were legit...I wonder who they blew in the Champagne Room to get those seats...

So we're standing around waiting, and right as I am texting TF "WTF???" I hear the opening notes of "Hard to Imagine"...This might be my new favorite opener...It gets you right into the show and builds to great singalong parts that get the crowd going...

My seat also gave me the chance to really get a good look at the lower section (mostly 10c), as well as the upper section and the lawn...

And from the opening strains of HTI EVERYONE was standing and the crowd was singing along from the word go...And HTI isn't exactly Jeremy...I knew that if this crowd could sing that well for a BSide, we were going to be in for a special night...

As it seems like they have been doing all tour, after setting the tone with opening song, they propelled through a 4 song sonic assault of Corduroy, Severed Hand, DTE and All Night...The band sounded great, the crowd was roaring, and the energy in that amphitheater was through the roof...

I think much of Avocado is killer live, but I think Severed Hand is my favorite fast live track from the album, and apparently it is going to be a concert staple, because I think they have played it at every show, despite not playing a ton off of the last album...

Corduroy and DTE are both crowd faves that also help get the people going...Again, great singing, great energy

All Night sounds killer live, really glad they broke this out this tour...

One of the things i love about PJ live is that they pace their shows so well...After that blistering open, they changed gears and played In Hiding, Elderly Woman, and Gone...

In Hiding is another sick live song because you get the amazing build up before the crowd breaks into the chorus...When we all sand out "I'm in Hiding!" I got goosebumps...

After gone, Matt broke out into a sweet drum open...At very first I thought it was going to be WMA, but I realized it was Who You Are...I knew TF would be happy for this, as it was one of the songs he specifically said he really wanted to hear...It's honestly not my favorite PJ song, but It sounded great...

They then played Unemployable, and by this point my bladder was bursting, and seeing as how it might be my least favorite song on Avocado I used this as a piss/beer break...I got back to the aisle just as they ripped into the opening of Even Flow...Half the crowd roared and half headed for the bathroom/concession stands at this point :lmao: You can tell who the guys who have seen them 10+ times are, huh? But I do love EvenFlow, studio or live...The crowd was way into it, Mike (who was shredding all night) nailed the solo, topping it off with some behind the head showmanship, and the Camerin drum intro wasn't even obnoxiously long...

After EF, Eddie dedicated Light Years to Tim and Luke Russert (the second dedication to them on the tour so far, they played Release late in the Bonnarroo set for Luke)...This IS one of my favorite slow PJ songs anyway, and it seemed particularly poignant due to the dedication...It got a bit dusty in my section there for a second...

They then bookended their furious start with a ridiculous 5 pack of Grievance, Given to Fly, U, Rats and Why Go! They were on fire at this point, ripping through those songs...I am a big Grievance and U fan, so it was awesome to hear those live, and who doesn't love Given To Fly? That's also become such a huge singalong fan favorite...

And Rats is just a nasty, bluesy, funky song, especially live...

Why Go is also a song they've been playing a ton of this tour, and I'm cool with that...It kills live, and propelled us into our first Encore Break...

Part IV Upcoming

So the band comes out for the first encore, and I notice Boom is the first one out and is twiddling and preparing on his organ, and I get a feeling I know what is coming, but even that feeling didn't prepare me for the amazing power of the version of Love Reign o'er Me they broke out with...Sick, sick sick live song...Eddie nailed the vocals, and Boom NAILED the organ parts, which he had some trouble with in 07...

They followed with a nice Better Man, where the crowd sang all the way through the first verse and chorus...I love crowd singing like that...Just chills up and down the spine...TF commented that he thought Eddie was going to let us continue..And we could have...The crowd was that into it...Also got a nice Save it for Later tag...

Then they ripped through SOLAT, which is always fun live, and began the opening notes of Black...Now Black has always been one of my top 5 PJ songs, and live it is haunting and amazing EVERY time...They finished up the first encore with a tight Leash, which is another ripping live track...

I knew Eddie has been coming out solo to do No More at the beginning of the 2nd Encore, so I was expecting it...He wasn;t even that political with his speech (to the best of my recollection), but it still pisses people off...I got into an altercation with one ####### behind me, because he kept on yelling "Shut Up and Sing" at the top of his lungs in my ear...After the third time I turned around and told him to "Shut Up and Sit Down" He didn't take to kindly at this and got up in my face...This stubby, mid 40s loser dude bellowing at me...I told him that PJ gives him 2 1/2 hours of entertainment, why not give Eddie the respect of listening to his 3 minutes of talking...He continued to scream and called me a Liberal ###### and asked me if "I wanted a piece of him"...I gave him my best faux-lisp and said "Don't flatter yourself sweetie, you're not my type" The group that had gathered around us broke out in laughter and that diffused the situation...

They then played Crazy Mary, with an other extended jam...I always get a kick out ofthe McReady/Boom interplay as they "duel" with each other in front of Boom's organ

By this point, with the late start, the house lights had come on...They ripped into Porch, and during it, Eddie climbed off stage and into the crowd, being held aloft as he stood on the shoulders of the front row (with the help of security) as the crowd around him all held their hands aloft towards him...Talk about your rock star moment, your Jesus Christ Pose...It was very cool to see...

I thought that might be it, as the lights were already on, but they closed with YL, with Mike ripping through the Star Spangled Banner

I met back up with TF and Zill and had a couple of post show brews as we waited for traffic to dissipate...

All in all it was a great show, great night, great crowd,,,Don't have enough superlatives for the experience...

Hope you enjoyed the recap, I'm off to meet Canada Mike for some pre show  and then PJ at the Garden!

Be back post show for reactions, assuming I am still coherent

Can't wait to read all that but had to chime in to say...I'M IN!

Getting into Boston at 3:45 on Saturday. Leave NY at noon on Wednesday. 3 shows.

Don't have a ticket to that first show. And it appears me n' a buddy are going to the Mets/Yankees game on Sunday (Shea). Don't have tickets to that either so we'll see...could just stay in Boston on Sunday.

Anyway, SO stoked right now! :banned: ...never been to Boston.

Really, really good show

They played 30 songs,m played for 2 h 45m, were really tight

Brought CJ Ramone on to play bass on I Believe in Miracles, which was awesome

Love Reign O'Er Me still rocks

The crowd was bananas all night

Really hurting at work today, need to get my 2nd wind for tonight

I think they're gonna tear the roof off the place tonight

Whats better than listening to Hard to Imagine and watching the Olsen twins do their hippie dance? Kind of a strange combo...

Crowd was off the charts last night...very into it all night. I got the feeling the band was saving something for tonight though...

Release or Long Road opener tonight... which will it be?

Really hoping for Release

Am I the only one jonesing for a return of WWS? I thought that song was pretty sweet live in 06.

How about a first four of:

Release >> WWS >> Dirty Frank >> Low Light

Thats all i ask for...

What watering holes you guys visit before the show?
We were upstairs at Mustang HarrysActually ran into BBWC and his son before the show there
Like TU, I am once again wiped and trying to store some energy for tonight, but could not resist posting a quick story from last night. My son, almost 10, was running out of steam towards the end of the show...actually asked if we could leave because he was tired. No sooner than he asks that than a security guard comes over to us and waves him to come with him. He proceeds to watch the final encores FROM THE FREAKIN' FRONT ROW!!! Of course, as Dad follows, he gets booted back to his seat, as the guard says "Don't worry about him...he's my personal friend 'til the show ends". To top it off, he gets a pick from Stone...quite a first concert indeed.TU, will call you once I get in the city to try and hook up. Was fighting a bug yesterday which took a bit out of me, but should be ready to hoist a couple before the show

Like most newbies, he dug the more "popular" songs, even though I loaded their whole catalog on his MP3 player well in advance of the show to get him more familiar. But, overall, he did well, groovin' along with the rest of us. I jokingly asked if he wanted to go back tonight and his response was "I don't think I could make it" with a weary smile. We were 14th row dead center, so it made it tough at times for him to see, but, overall, a good time was had with, obviously, an incredible finale. Should earn me some "cool dad" points

Looks/sounds like a great show last night  . Everyone on the boards are saying the crowd was one of the best ever at MSG (if not the best). I caught some of it on Spin and it definitely backs all that up. Zach was way up in the stands so you got to see the crowd better than the band. Set list wise, I'd say it ranks 3rd or 4th this tour, although it's tough to argue against 30 songs, that's awesome. Being there had to be #1 so far no doubt. Tonight should be even better.

Have another blast tonight :banned:

I don't know, that first night at MSG (03?) the last time around was rockin as well. The manager actually came out and in the middle of it and said something to the effect that in the 30 years he'd been at the Garden, PJ was the third band to have the floor literally shake. The other two were Bruce and Judas Priest (I think). It's on the boot. Big Blue, that is a GREAT story. Not many dads take their kids to see rock n' roll, period...much less Pearl Jam on the floor at MSG. Good for you man!

So directions in hand, we head back to our hotel to drop our stuff off in our room, which , again, is waaay nicer than it should be for a crash pad for the three of us for a couple of nights, but I'm not complaining...

We head down to the car and drive off in search of beer...Along the way, TF googles Philly Beer Distributor, and we find an alternate location that is closer to the bridge to Camden...

We manage to find it, and grab a couple of cases before venturing across the bridge to the mean streets f Camden NJ and our attempt to meet up with Vedder the FBG...

He had directed us to parking lot behind the minor league stadium there, and the lot was already jumping...Tons of tailgating going on, grilling, football, frisbee, beer pong, etc...Now I live in NYC, so concerts don't really include tailgating, so this was pretty cool...We parked the car and then set out to find Vedder...30 mins later and we still hadn;t found him, so we went back to our car to just beer it up there some more...Vedder calls back, and we realize he has been like 3 cars away in our aisle the whole time :lmao: Vedder is a cool dude, and they had a pretty sweet spread, with a grill, booming stereo and a bunch of cool PJ fans...

We stod around ad shot the #### and talked about the band and drank beer for a couple of hours...By this point TF, Zilla and I were both pretty hungry and more than a little buzzed, so one of Vedder's buddies grilled up the most delicious burnt to a crisp burgers I have ever tasted...

We packed up our stuff and headed in to the venue about 8:30 or so, it was a gorgeous night, and it had just begun to get dark...

Part III Upcoming
:lmao: Thoroughly enjoyed the lengthy review(s) by the way. See you Saturday. :banned:

I thought they said Iron Maiden maybe? Then Mike broke into the one riff - always makes me laugh.Ending last night with Indifference = awesome. That setlist looks unreal.

Setlist: Release, World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand, Corduroy, All Night, Cropduster, Garden, Marker in the Sand, I'm Open>Wishlist, State of Love and Trust, Evenflow, Who You Are, Rats, Given to Fly

Nothing too crazy so far

Yeah, must've been Iron Maiden then, I wasn't sure. The place was literally shaking.

Setlist: Release, World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand, Corduroy, All Night, Cropduster, Garden, Marker in the Sand, I'm Open>Wishlist, State of Love and Trust, Evenflow, Who You Are, Rats, Given to Fly, Do the Evolution, Go

Encore 1: Inside Job, WMA, Lukin, I Believe in Miracles (w/ CJ Ramone), Betterman(Save It For Later), Rearviewmirror

Encore 2: No More, Last Kiss, Why Go, Black Diamond (w/ Ace Frehley), Alive, Yellow Ledbetter

Another solid show from the boys. Old school Garden had to be awesome.

Another spectacular evening at MSG. After another pre-concert hook up with TU and friends, headed into the show with high expectations. While the rumored full No Code set didn't appear, some personal highlights were WWS (on of my son's faves...was very bummed this morning when I told him they played it), Garden, INSIDE JOB (love this tune...don't know why it doesn't get more props) and W.M.A...just really cooked last night.

Then, the piece de resistance...Black Diamond w/ the space Ace. Now, as a kid, KISS were my boys  ...i know, sad but true. But, obviously not the only one. While seeing Ace do RITFW w/ them at the Borgata may have been a better tune, seeing the band pay tribute to one of their idols with one of their classics was just tremendous.

Was off on the wings (non-10C seats) and the crowd by me seemed to be somewhat lackluster. But, the Garden itself was rockin'. Could have done with fewer repeats, but that's a minor complaint when most bands might insert 2-3 new songs per night on a whole tour. Just a great 3 shows in 6 days. Wish I were going to more (holding out hope for the Beacon, but likely wishful thinking), but we'll always have the boots :hoof:

The MSG I setlist was definitely more "unique" overall, but their performance last night was jaw droppingly goodI can honestly say that I think I heard the best live versions of EvenFlow and RVM I have ever heard, either live or on bootsPlus Release and Garden were awesome, and Ace on Black Diamond was sick

I'll post full reviews of CamdenI and II and MSG II when I get a chance but....

-MSG II was the best of the three shows I saw, and I'd put it in my personal top 5 out of 25+ shows

-Amazing crowd and setlist..nothing compares to a show at MSG....

- BLACK DIAMOND :coffee:

- CJ Ramone sat right behind us (section 74, row G right on the aisle) for most of the show before security took him down to the stage. Really cool guy. Chatted for about 10 minutes before the show (THANK YOU TEN CLUB FOR RIDICULOUSLY GOOD SEATS)

-One of the Olsens twins, Eddie's GF, and his daughter also supposedly were in our section.. :wall:

One of my buddies won the lottery for Camden II...first freakin row.....uggggggggggh  Lucky *******!

Excellent work on the boots, BTW, Zilla.... Hopefully we can continue to spread the goodness as the rest become available.
