I liked night one a lot better than night 2.

Pretty much from Rift on, night one kicked ###, minus a minor hiccup in Piper and Velvet Sea. Gin was awesome, Tube and Walk Away closed the first set nice. The funk that came out of 46 days was tight and Mike's was really awesome with a good encore in Character Zero.

I definitely seem to have a contrarian view with the fanbase at times but nothing seems as obvious as last night's Tweezer. People are acting like this is the best thing ever played, I'm shocked. It had a couple of highlights but I found it boring in a lot of parts. I also don't like Tela so that was a throw out and I could have done without Architect and Bouncing. That being said, Twist and Antelope were awesome and Julius was a great encore.

Got to meet the future FBG hall of Famer Fro this weekend. Cool dude, will have to have a few more with this guy. While our encounters were short, it seems he brings a good combination of quirky and comical.

it appears as though Ticketbastard has released some seats for Sunday's show in SF. I was resigned to buying from a scalper, willing to shell out about $80. well, with the $18.90 in fees, the tally is $78.90--what a bargain. but at least I know I am going.

Tahoe Night 2 Set 2. Tweezer lives up to the hype on re-

listen.

Happy birthday Jerome!
JTC was at the show and said it is being wayoverhyped.
I've listened to it twice today and it sounds

fantastic to me.
No offense but you come across as a classic Phish fluffer.
I'm probably guilty of getting over excited at times. I used to see live music regularly. My daughter was born in early '09, and we had a son this past January, so my live music hobby has basically been on pause for 4+ years. I probably can get a bit toolish when I'm at home having a few brews on couch tour.

I simply disagree with JFC. I'm not suggesting the Tahoe Tweezer is the greatest music ever produced by man, but it's damn good stuff.

I know what you mean. I am rarely in agreement with those who review on the Phish setlist website. But they're the ones with all the lame lingo ("my face melted off"). There's some divide there (generation maybe). I thought night one was fantastic and the second set jammed hard. Trey was spent after the Character Zero encore. Loved the Ghost > Carini.

Bathtub Gin almost collapsed completely but nobody seemed to notice. Took them what felt like an hour to put it back together.

got in to Bill Graham last night. cool little venue and the band was on fire. tonight's ticket looks to be a toughie as everyone's looking for saturday night.

if you haven't heard the Sand and the Seven Below from 8/2, those were the gems imo. i would post a link to them if i had one.

Stealing time was really good last night

Friends of mine are going to tonights show. They have a ticket for me for Monday's at the H-Bowl, but I don't think I can swing the gig this short of notice.

Set 2 was off the charts tonight. I wasn't totally digging set 1 either but they lit it up for the second half of the night. Pretty much from Energy to Bold As Love, minus that Silent in the Morning was tip top. The jam out of Runaway Jim was really good, Light was excellent. I think Energy is kind of a dumb song but they jammed it out.

couldn't agree more about Energy. silly lyrics and a pop tune, but the jam raged. first set felt like it got cut short for some reason. trey practically ran off the stage so maybe his prostate is starting to go. but they laid the smackdown with a monster set two plus encore. wish I didn't have to work or i'd be on the road to Hollywood.

Seeing that they have never announced the costume before the show, I say that article is a whole lot of hot air.

Don't get your hopes up.
My hopes aren't up. The news there is much more that Gabriel entertained the idea of doing the Lamb than that Phish would have anything to do with it. In fact, they'd be low on my list of choices for his backup band. Way too monochromatic for the material. Same issue I've had with most of their album covers. But the fact that he didn't ignore the idea or laugh it out of existence is very surprising.

ETA: But yeah, in the Phish universe this is more likely using something from the past as a bit of misdirection. Especially, considering what it would do to the demand for tickets if it got out that it was happening.

Dead played for 30 years. This year is 30th anniversary for Phish.

American Beauty or Workingmans Dead probalby among favorites, although Blues for Allah, Mars Hotel, Terrapin Station or Wake of the Flood could be winners too.

its way past time for them to play Zappa specifically Hot Rats. Its just time

Although a Dead album would be kindof cool, just not AB.

My call is Joe's Garage but I am right with you there.

Anyone watching the ####'S thing? 5 songs in, seems like another code, backwards this time. Nice playing and a fun 1st set icculus.

Didn't get into that 2nd set last night and didn't hear the 1st set so I was a little bummed.

Pretty much real solid 1st set tonight. They are extremely fast paced. Fishman is pushing it. Making it up for me...

no Hampton chatter? we just fired up tonight's webcast. hope we can go back and watch the first half of the set.

I thought the Mound was butchered last night but other than that a solid outing. Roggae, Twist and Carini all raged. i'm looking for a big Tweezer tonight.

anyone know where I can get a free stream for the show tonight? I paid for the whole Hampton weekend and now I am being cheap tonight.

Sorry late to the thread but usually you can hook up a link on hood stream or get linked from there. Autumnhalers or something like that on ustream has been money the last year also....but since Hampton I have not received an email that he/she "goes live".

yeah, I think people are being more secretive after Phish took down a couple of regular streamers.

Moved to Virginia Beach before the summer so it was nice to have my first "hometown" Hampton run

Thought it was a great 3 nights. I paid $120 for a 3 day pass thinking it was a good deal, but you could pretty easily get a ticket for $15 if not for free ala the ticket oak friday night. If I see 3, maybe even 2 shows, there's usually one set that I end up not really feeling but not the case with this run. Friday was my least favorite of the 3, but the Wolfman's opener was a shocker, Ocelot is probably my favorite of the newest songs and was good, and the Carini was nasty and the show highlight. 2nd set sort of tailed off after that but the Antelope ended it on a high note.

Saturday night was probably my most enjoyable show since Pittsburgh '09 (my first time seeing them for 3.0). What a start with Bathtub, Moma Dance, and Tube. I always enjoy a Curtis Loew, and the Mike's Groove was fantastic. Ghost was probably the show highlight and sick, Id never heard Steam (as in never knew it existed, not just never got it live) and really liked it. Theme was on point, and Hood was great. Some of the shorter/slower songs on this night - Ya Mar, Fast Enough For You, Silent in the Morning, Wedge - are all songs I really like which also helped in my enjoying this show much.

Sunday night was also great and one of the best Ive seen for 3.0. Another hot start with Julius, Funky B, GBOTT, and Roses. 46 Days is another favorite from their last few albums and always love it. The Divided Sky was tight. Was hoping for the Paul & Silas bustout and that was great. Best Golden Age Ive heard from them. No breaks in the 2nd set and they were just killing it. A Day In The Life (and Tweeprise) capped the weekend off nicely.

Thinking back to '03 and '04, I never thought they'd be back to being this great live again. :tebow:

Trick. I like it.
It would have been badass as set 3 or set 2 on the 30th but I cannot get my head around it as the cover album. I was dying to hear Eat a Peach, or Ok Computer or maybe just maybe Hot Rats. I get what they are trying to do and be creative but I think most fans still prefer hearing them cover a classic album. Something they havent done much of in 15 years.

Bite your tongue! The thought to Phish doing Spanish Moon...<shudder>.

They've done a ridiculous number of covers in the last 15 years and have probably given their fanbase more than any other band I can think of. They obviously like the new material and this is an inspired way to debut it. Funny. "#### 'em if they can't take a joke."

they have done it 3 times in 15 years only twice at halloween

Was it good or not?

What do some of the songs compare to? That's not really a fair question perhaps, but I'll ask it.

Wombat, Monica and Fuego were pretty good. Everything else IMO just didnt work really well. I get that they were trying to give the fans some new music but it just didnt work IMO. It wouldnt surprise me at all for them to drop a full album tonight. The songs were better than Joy and just above Undermind. Same type of feel to them.

I think people would be less critical like I said if they did this in the 3rd set after eat a peach etc.
