Which is kindof cool but really frustrating as well. Its funny to see how music "experts" totally ignore this band. I mean Rolling stone didnt even acknowledge them until the late 90's.

Anyone doing ##### this weekend. I had the choice between ##### or a weekend of the BD. Choose NYC just because the kids were out of school.
The secondary ticket market is in sane right now. Necessary evil I guess. The last weekend of BD the lowest priced ticket was $400ish on stub hub.
##### is in the $150ish range. They've come down from $200-250 earlier this week.

I went against the grain and was rooting for Miami. I don't think I can swing 2 NYC trips this year. I could have talked the wife into South Beach though.

So they announce Mail order for NYE sometime today.... Gen Public sale is Friday.
Yet Stubhub is flooded with tickets How does this even happen????
ETA - Out of 4 shows I wound up with 4 tix for saturday night in sec 419.... Didn't even think there was a 400 sec.
Probably worst seats in the place.... I'd rather get none and fend for myself - those seats shouldn't be part of pre-sale IMO...

Do what you want. Phish has allowed that to a certain extent.

First time on the MSG floor! Got floors for the 29th, wife pulled Section 2 for the 28th. Also managed to get 400 level for NYE.
So freakin pumped. One of my best TM days ever for sure. Pretty certain the key was going for other nights at noon while everyone tried for NYE.
Hope some of you guys got in!

Wouldn't "being nice to each other" also include helping people who want to attend an event pay face value for their tickets instead of forcing them to buy them from you at a marked-up price? Or is that command a one-way street?lod001 said:

Every year I feel more incredulous that _____ band got into the Hall of Fame over our boys from Vermont. This year is no exception. Personally, I have no problem with inducting Bon Jovi (though they are not my cup of tea), but the Cars, the Moody Blues, Nina Simone (?!), and Dire Straits? I love Dire Straits but c'mon. I guess a couple of hits trump decades of originality and boundary-pushing, let alone well over a thousand shows.
Part of me wants to begin a grass-roots movement to get Phish into the Hall but a bigger part just wants to poo-poo the whole thing. It's such a sham.

Jam bands have basically been ignored by the Hall with what I'm assuming is the exception of the Grateful Dead but no even sure if they are in. I just can't get worked up over it though.

Hell, they've had the '94 hot dog flying in that museum for YEARS. Phish actually took it out for New Years '10-'11 and returned it with fresh mustard and relish!

Agree. It would be an great honor for Phish, but getting worked up over it would be like complaining in the 90's that the DWD video didn't make TRL.

I think the problem is that its become so easy to relist tickets yourself on stub hub. I've never done myself, but it would be an easy way to make a few bucks (maybe even a lot of money). No phish fans admit it, but I'd be fairly certain there are people out there putting in for all the PTBM tickets then just picking 5-6 shows to go to and selling the rest.
Wish there was a way to stop it, but there's certainly not an easy fix that I can think of.
I'm gonna try and swing Alpharetta, but it seems unlikely.
