Me too. Everyone knows I'm the least tech-savvy person around here, so question. What does that FLAC upgrade give me? I think this allows me to burn a CD without the pauses between songs, right?

It's more of a quality issue. FLAC is a lossless format. MP3s are compressed to reduce file size. You've probably heard the effects of a poorly compressed MP3 by hearing a little metallic warble over the music.Either would allow you to burn the CD without pauses, that's more a question of the burning software you use -- and if the MP3 is not "over compressed" you might not notice anything unless you're listening on a really nice sound system.

According to that NY Times article, they are practicing like mad, trying to get back to the more complex-style jams of the mid-90s. Can you point me in the right direction? When I've tried to convert mp3's to an audio disc in the past, there was a gap between songs. I was told I needed the flac format to prevent that in this thread.

I dunno for certain, but my sense is that there should be a setting on the burning program you're using that can either add this gap or not. I don't think the format of the music matters.I know I've tinkered with such a setting in the past, and was able to remove the gap, but I can't tell you much more than that.

It's still DL'ing so it's a bit strange because it's sort of jumping around a bit when I play it. But, the quality is very good, from the little of heard it sounds like a 10/10 audience recording

I just have a feeling that they are hitting like they were 15 years ago and I would go off the deep end. I'd be slinging again and eating large quantities of drugs. Bad combo for me. I'm lucky to be alive and healthy.

Was also raided by the DEA and ATF in the late 90's so I'm lucky to be on the streets as well. My life now is pretty kick ### so I have to always look at the big picture and play things out in my head.
