No west coast reviews?
I had a blast at the Chula Vista show Sat night. Wolfmans/Destiny Unbound and Piper were highlights. I'm a sucker for YEM 2nd set closers and I always love Tweezer shows.

Wifey also made it to the Forum show the night before and was raving about the sound. Apparently all that money they poured into the renovation was well spent.

No west coast reviews?
Was not impressed with the Bill Graham opener last night. Thought Trey was off first few songs and struggled elsewhere. Sand transition was aiming high but turned out to be a letdown. Admittedly wife and I left early for a few reasons but would have stayed had second set inspired. Of course after we left they played CDT, 2001 and Slave to close.

Highlights have to include Maze, then maybe Rift and Ghost and maybe 46 Days.

Not a fan of Fuego (yet) so can't say this tour has inspired me much.

Anyone have ideas what the show will be tonight? Cover, no cover, super prank, Cirque de Soleia? All rumors at this point but you know they are going to do something really grand.

I am listening to the show right now. A few minutes into Moma Dance, the crowd goes crazy because word is out the Giants won. Within a minute, they go into We Are The Champions for a few seconds, then back into Moma in a sweet transition. Whole thing gives me goose bumps.

As for tonight, I heard there were rumors of a Zappa cover on the forums. Regardless, wish I was there.

Anyone ordering tonight's webcast? I'm having a few families over for trick-or-treating, so I'm thinking about anteing up to have it on the TV in the background while we socialize.

Enjoyed the first set - especially 46 Days.

Not feeling the costume set at all. If I was at MGM, I'd be headed back to the room to get refreshed for set 3.

Loved the Halloween show. Solid start to 11/1. Band remains at the top of their game. What's not to like? We didn't make the Vegas trip but very much looking forward to Miami for NYE.

they loved the haunted house set and they have been wearing huge grins every time they have quoted it tonight. i think its a terrific sign of their continued creativity and inspiration together well into the future

At the show now, set break before set two. First set was solid but on the poppy side with notable exceptions of a great Wolfmans and pretty big ASIHTOS.

Show looks really full from where I am but I heard that the other three nights are easy tickets. If you are nearby, come check out the Phish on the cheap. They are playing very well.

only one AC/DC Bag. but no complaints. probably the best set one i've ever heard. overshadowed an otherwise fine set two. patch together set 1 from 1/3 and set 2 from 1/2, and you have a darned-near perfect show.

Early feedback I'm hearing is that overall it was a fairly disappointing run
I think that is an overly harsh critique, and I have been reading that online, too. I might get on board with "uneven" but disappointing doesn't sound right. The band was totally on fire 1/3, had one monster set 1/2, and one monster set 12/31/14 (set two). Most of the complaints seem to be about 1/1/15 which I suppose will go down as a letdown because of its brevity and (at times) lack of energy. But as for the whole run, I'd give it B if not a B+. Trey's playing last night was as good as anything he's done over the past 20 years. He was in the zone.

Lots of rumblings in the rumor mill about Festival 10 ("Fest X"?) at Watkins Glen this August.

I sure hope so. Wouldn't miss that one.

Got word that the permits for Watkins are signed. I'm already making plans to be there.
interestingwhats the most realistic way of flying into there?

If I miss out on Chicago then Watkins will be the next option
Either Pittsburgh or Buffalo, I think. I remember looking into it a couple summers ago.

I'm not someone who hypes new bands very often, but I've got to say, Joe Russo's Almost Dead has me wide ####### open. These guys are phenomenal.

They have ~ 35 shows on Archive if you're looking to revisit perhaps the greatest catalog of music with some talented mother ####ers putting their own stamp on it.

Lots of airports closer than Buffalo or Pittsburgh but they are small. Rochester or Syracuse are both roughly 90 miles away. Binghamton airport is about 60 miles away and then Ithaca & Elmira are within 30 miles of the venue.

Probably going to see them this time around for the first time since the return. Would really like to get out for the two nights in Bend. Though one at MPP will probably suffice.
