Official Plaxico Burress Thread (1 Viewer)

I see that Plax is excluded by FBG's updated cheatsheet. Is there more definitive news out there that says he's not playing today?

Same ol` same ol`....

Plaxico Burress, WR NYG

News: Giants WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 11 at Detroit after missing another full week of practice. Burress had had a season-long problem with his ankle. It has prevented him from practicing most of the season, but he has not missed a game and leads the team with eight touchdown catches. "He is doing OK," head coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday. "He is very sore during the course of the early part of the week, and then he gets a little bit better as the week goes on. By the weekend he is back to a point where he can play."

Analysis: Coughlin added that Burress can't make his cuts as well as he normally can with his ankle sore, adding that some things asked of him are tough for him to do. His stats in recents weeks -- zero touchdowns in three games -- are proof that he's not healthy. Consider Burress a No. 1 Fantasy WR since he has potential to play well just so long as he's on the field -- and because he's got a great matchup at Detroit's 30th-ranked pass defense.

Plaxicos production is down in the last few games partly because of his ankle, but also because one of the games was in London (Miami), and conditions were less then optimal for a passing game, one of the games (49ers) he was covered by Nate Clements the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, and one of the best CBs in the NFL. against the cowgirls they double teamed him the whole game.. which is why Shockeys production was way up.

I am looking for Plax to have a big game this week, and for the whole team to bounce back from the loss...

Hey BK (or anyone else), do you think DET's gameplan will be to double Plax again this week, even with his limited mobility? Any insight?

I think you have to decide if its a bigger risk to start him or to bench him. Yes he has the potential to post big numbers, but he also has the potential to lay an egg on you this week and come out of the game.If they were just saying that he was sore as always, I would be more comfortable, but they are saying its the worst it has been, and he is having a hard time or just cant make cuts the way he normally does.I would say this is more of a gamble with a chance to pay big and lose big with little chance of getting a solid game.

According to KFFL he is NOT on the inactive list for today...

Giants | Week 11 InactivesSun, 18 Nov 2007 08:33:12 -0800The New York Giants have declared OT Adam Koets, FS Craig Dahl, DL Dave Tollefson, RB Derrick Ward, QB Jared Lorenzen, OG Kevin Boothe, DL Manuel Wright, WR Steven Smith inactive for Week 11.
FWIW

I'm playing Ron Dayne over him today... It's the correct move according to FBG.
so is starting Hillard, CJ2 and many other WR this week. . . .but some of us need a big game, not a average game. . . .average and bust is kinda the same thing when its a must win situation

Now that he is active, how much does he play? Does active = playing all game if he doesn't reinjure the ankle?
Stop thinking so much...

Go with your horses and hope for the best.
Plaxico all set to play Plaxico Burress, WR NYG

News: Giants WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) is active for Week 11. He is expected to start at Detroit.

Analysis: Burress' ankle has been bothering him lately but does have a great matchup against the Lions' No. 30 pass defense. He should start in all leagues.
