***Official*** Post Your 2018 Rookie Draft (2 Viewers)

exactly....the Pats have used a RBBC because of necessity and cost..but when they had Corey Dillon I don't recall them not feeding him the ball either.......now he is a rookie, but I doubt they burned a first on him to not use the kids talent.
Depends on what we are talking about, the Pats have favored one primary ball carrier on occasion but those players have rarely had staying power. The Pats have always had a RBBC if we are including RB receiving. It's easy to forget, but in Dillon's monster season with the Pats when he had 345 carries, he caught a grand total of 15 passes. He was no slouch catching passes either in his Cincy days. They gave him a bellcow number of carries (that they totally used him up with) while Kevin Faulk and Patrick Pass caught the passes. Dillon split time with Maroney his final season but by then he was used up and well over 30 years old.

Since then Blount, BGJE, and Ridley each had a single season of over 200 rushes for the Pats. BGJE caught 22 passes, the other two were in the single digits.

Doesn't mean Sony won't be valuable, especially if they give him over 200 carries given the Pats tendency to score a ton during the season. Of course, every year we wonder if this will be the one when father time finally catches up with Brady.

I woulda taken Moore over Kerryon, and come out with Moore and Sutton , otherwise I think he made all the right moves.
I'm actually the guy who has all the picks lol.  Appreciate the input!  Had I known, I would have landed Freeman 1.11, I would have taken DJ Moore at 1.07.  But I thought both Kerryon and Freeman would both get picked if I passed.  I also just traded 2.10/3.10/2019 2nd for 2.02 and chose Gallup.

If I had 2 and 3, I'm coming out with Penny and Chubb, so love the top of your draft.

Oh my lord.
Yeah, this was nutty. The owner is actually a good owner, he just really wanted this guy. He said he spoke with the guy that had picks 10-11-12 after him, and that guy was going to take ESB, so... BIG reach.

I like ESB as well, could see reaching in the 2nd, but 9 is crazy. I picked up ESB in another league at pick 34.

I also think if you are at that spot where the last of those top 8 RB are, you need to put it up for auction.

Massive drop off, and people might be desperate.
I got a lot of tiers in this group but right now I have 7 RB's who I would give a fantasy first round grade and 3 more I'd give a fantasy second round grade for 10 total first/second round graded RB's.  After those the only RB I care much about right now is some rookies who might be handcuffs to my starters.

There are a lot of picks in that draft that look a lot more questionable to me than McCarron in the 4th round.
Which ones?

IMO, after the mid-second round the quality flatlines. It is a 1 QB league, so rookie QB values are meh. It is a 1 RB required league and only 1/2 ppr for RBs, so the N. Hines kind of guys are meh. Vets are included, and we start RB/WRWRWR/2 Flex, leaving the waiver wire is pretty bare, so some late flyers on the John Browns of the world aren't out of line for teams that need another possible starter rather than a long term project rookie. Half the league is goofy with Ds, carrying 2 or even 3, there is no playing waiver wire matchups, that's why a few get drafted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1.1 Barkley

1.2 guice

1.3 penny

1.4 Michel

1.5 Ronald Jones

1.6 Freeman

1.7 Chubb

1.8 Kerryon

1.9

Everyone from 1.2 to 1.4 tried unsuccessfully to trade down. 1.9 is trying to trade down too.

We usually get multiple draft day trades by now.  Not even a serious nibble so far.

I wonder what they were asking for.  While it's true the picks are probably closer than usual because they're all basically RBs drafted within 25 picks of each other in the NFL draft, I still think there is a decent difference from the top of that list (Guice/Penny) to the bottom with Freeman/Kerryon (and I am higher on Kerryon than most).

Same in ours, everyone from the 1.4 down has tried to trade down or out. The 1.8 was finally traded for Ajayi & Robert Woods and the new owner took Moore. Not sure who made out better there. The guys with the late 1sts (1.10 & 1.12) have already announced they are on the block as well

Quite a few of the premiere QB's are becoming long in the tooth  Much appreciate lists that include up until the 1st QB is taken  I play in a 2QB League and my fav has been Allen but none to thrilled w the landing spot  Obviously, quite a few RB's available to catch the eye  But aside from maybe a few WR's going QB seems like it should be enticing to some and/or worth consideration

I noticed the traded away 1.1 after I posted. Horrible. Do you know what he got for it?
The two later 1st round picks. The guys in the league said that it seemed like he was unsure of which end of that trade he was really on. I'm not sure if they were joking.
