*** official "scary talented" Titans @ Chiefs WC game thread. Go Titans!!!!11!! (1 Viewer)

Titans beat the Chiefs two years in a row now. Your RB was held in check and he's a beast.

I thought Alex (and often do) did a wonderful job as a game manager. The Chiefs prob for many years has been not having the "name" WRs that can get it done. Maybe DeMarcus will develop, but I'd be frustrated with that if I were a Chiefs fan.

Maybe you want them to draft or sign an OL or two to be certain of Hunt. Maybe finally draft a top WR? IDK

We were the worst team in football 3 years ago and 4 years ago the Browns were the only one worse. We watched our Titans get beat up by just about everyone and if they hung close, it was always a deep pass that punched us in the gut for the eventual loss. Us fans sort of paid for this win.

Y'all win every year and make the playoffs regularly.

It's a very different feel from the fanbases on this game.

Titans fans ought to be able to enjoy it. We sure haven't had much to root for
Bojang is a Steelers fan

I’d say both those guesses are highly unlikely. He needs to go to team in contention.
I could be wrong of course but I think both the cards and jets could contend with Smith.

Nah, there's hardly an elite level player on that team.
 not Brady, Antonio, etc level but...

Lewan, Casey, Byard, and Conklin

Adoree, Marcus, Henry, and Davis could very well be
Yep.  Casey is among the most underrated players in the game. I don't know that Byard is elite, but he was fantastic this year.

I didn't think there would be a lot of ambiguity in my use of "elite".

eta:  love the title change
Surprisingly, there often is. If by elite you mean HOF lock, no question about it types, okay. But you don't necessarily need that to win a playoff game or two.

If you mean the ability to take over a game as needed and make a huge impact, Marcus has those moments, Casey is right there, and the others listed are close.

all-pro should qualify for such a post IMO but I understand

Ten got absolutey every break here.....the phantom “forward progress” call on MM was a GAME CHANGER......how does the first contact by a defender turn into “forward progress was stopped”....he wasn’t being “held up” so there was no safety concern about somebody coming in and cleaning up.....MM was getting TACKLED...which is what football is about....really tough tough loss but I feel that was a HUGE play....!!!!!

There is a reason NFL has a show dedicated to “game changing moments” and the forward progress call on MM was one of those...

He's the all time best seller at the jerk store?
No, he was doing the opposite. You know, not run with a lead, not do what was working in the 1st half. Or, perhaps this is part of the plan so he can get fired and go work for the Mets. Body suit Andy Reid, anyone?

How did it change the game? The Chiefs scored a TD right after that to make it 21-3.

Do I think it was a blown call? Absolutely. But you CANNOT blame the loss on that. When you are leading 21-3 in a playoff game at home at halftime, you have to win that game.

No...IIRC that lead to the FG by TEN which proved to be the difference.... I could be wrong cause I have been drinking all day.. but instead of a fumble returned for a TD...which it would have been,,, TEN ends up getting a FG which ends up being the difference...?

KC may have scored after the FG....but TEN should have never had the FG...

Potentially 21-0 at half or MORE a big difference than 21-3....especially when the game shook out the way it did with kelce out and only 3 possessions by KC in 2nd half...

Sure. But assuming it was 21-0, the Titans wouldn't have missed two 2-pt conversions. They were within FG range at the end, which would have made it 24-21.  Obviously many things change based on circumstances but from the way things actually went, the chiefs can't blame the loss on that one play.

They can blame it on Kelce getting a concussion.

Please stop crying about that call.  The Titans got 3 points after that call.  The Kelce fumble that wasn't reviewed gave the Chiefs 7 extra points.  The Titans got the worst of the calls.  Sorry.

You know this how?

Yeah, part of me thinks that a bad team could take him to play for a couple years while a young QB develops, but a $20MM cap hit plus the cost to acquire him in a trade would probably be too expensive for a veteran placeholder. I’d like to see him land in Jacksonville.

You must not watch much football if you dont think that was huge....
No, I watch enough to know you can't blame choking away that lead on one play that only led to 3 points, in the first half. But go ahead and make the excuse if it makes you feel better.

BTW, if you really want an excuse it's Kelce being injured.  Doesn't change anything but the chiefs with Kelce could have gone far imo.

Just not seeing it. McCown outplayed Smith this year at times.

He's 38 and inconsistent. Surely you're not saying mccown is better than Smith.  He did look good at times, but those times weren't  frequent enough. The rest of the offense needs to grow, the defense is decently strong. They're not as far from contending as I thought before the season.

The Jets would probably be better off going for cousins or another vet, but I think they're better off signing or trading a later pick for a QB instead of using the 1.06.  kinda like San Fran, but obviously with different dynamics.

As an official i always want to agree that one play does not dictate a game....but I have also seemn where one play has a team putting their foot on another teams throat....that was one of those calls at the time IMO....if you disagree...thats fine...

Aren’t you a Chiefs fan?  Sorry but it’s hard to imagine that you’re not a little biased.  There are a lot of reasons why the Chiefs lost the game.

For sure....I “feel” if that is a turnover....let alone a 6 the other way...that game is OVAH....homer or not....if you disagree...no worries...

Not to get in the middle but it was not six the other way.  The guy that picked it up had a lineman hanging all over him then they blowed the whistle....

The 2 guys running out didn't have the ball
With the replay I saw...I disagree...thought Houston was heading the other way....i could be wrong....been drinking...

Oh and 20 seconds later Kelce fumbled and it wasn't called and KC went on to score to make it 21 - 3

Exactly,  he doesn't want to talk about that bad call
There was no call so its not bad...replay may not have said it was a fumble....apparently the powers that be did not feel it was worthy of a review even though there was ample time with the injury to take a look....fwiw I thoug he was DBC

Per a league source, the replay official didn’t call for a replay review in this case because, while the ball was seen coming out, it was determined that Kelce recovered the ball while he was on the ground

Which could or could not be true. Since they never showed it again

I don't understand your logic so but I have said my peace here.  Have a safe and great night!

Logic...?...neither TEN or the NFL thought is was worth a review even though both had time....not sure of the timing and if TEN could have asked but either way...a non issue....sleep tight
