Floppo, Alvaro Recoba has officially retired.  Man, was he talented;  he sometimes would show insane skills to get pass defenders, only to fluff his shot, then turna round & pull an icredible shot out of his ###.  One of the most talented players I've seen , but also one the laziest..What a shame.

this is the one problem with being on the west coast as I'll probably have to wake up by 7 so that I can watch the Chelsea game off my dvr before heading to the pub for the Liverpool spurs game. By the time Ray comes on the air I'll be #### faced enough to understand every word he is saying.
its good to have dreams.  can you ever get drunk enough to understand him?

Was all excited for a weekend of games, then my Sunday league game time comes out.  9am.  Normally not a bad thing except United plays Everton at 8am!  On the bright side could save me from breaking my tv if the elbowin Belgium plays.  Good chance my game is more exciting then United.

Any of you Spain/La Liga FBGs ever been to a game at Camp Nou? I'm in Barcelona next week and (look at me!) managed to get a couple tickets to the CL match on Tuesday, so any advice on how to maximize the experience would be appreciated. Do they, like, tailgate or anything? And would wearing some random MLS jersey into the stadium be frowned upon?

That is awesome. I can't wait to go one day. Can't offer any specific advise, but make sure your MLS jersey isn't the color of the visiting team, and preferable it's the home team color. And probably not White( =Real Madrid).

ESPNFC asked if Ronaldo would start for Barça. Basically, would you sit Neymar for Ronaldo on that team right now.
Curiousbwhat everyone except Gator thinks.

Andy... play on, imo. Let the ref stop action.

Guzan... bad.

Sunderland shouldve had three today. Another competent outing from Yed.

Wish I had noticed Mazda playing,  would've watched that game instead.

With Yedlin's unique athletic gifts, competent is exactly what he needs now to be to grow into an above average RB imo.  Yedlin does seem to suffer from lack of consistency game to game so it is nice to see him put together a few back to back good performances.

Check the US thread for some Miazga talk. He looked pretty good IMO.

I've been years ago and will be going to at least one match in about a month, depending on if they make the semis.  Curious what manner you used to get the CL tickets actually as I hear.

The Camp Nou is a bit away from the center of the city.  Not a ton of tailgating but a decent amount of bars between the metro stop and the stadium. A lot of vendors selling a variety of scarfs and other gear.  One thing about the fans that was surprising is how little people were wearing actual jerseys when compared to US sporting events.  Barcelona is a pretty formally dressed city as a whole, except for the tourists.  I don't think you'd have any issue with an MLS jersey, although it is going to be colder.  I actually was wearing a Gamecocks sweater due to how cold it was.  A Crew or Orlando scarf will be more than fine.

I hear the stadium tour is amazing, but didn't have a chance to do it when there before.

What an awesome first half. This is the lineup Liverpool has to roll with. They look like the better team and you watch and have no idea how they've dropped some stupid points against lesser clubs.

That was some fun ball.  0-0 and that first half flew by.

watch this video http://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2016-04-01-new-england-revolution-vs-new-york-red-bulls/details/video/60901

when NE makes the original pass look at the middle of the field at a clearly down Red Bull player.

NY argued for about 5 minutes that ball should have been played out by the attacking team.

What is your take on this?  Even though I acknowledge that my team benefited, unless the player is severely injured, I like the attacking team to keep going.
I wish I had seen at what point he went down so I could see the injury.  I don't think he was particularly hurt at all, but after all the arguing he of course needed to be stretchered off.

I think it's a play-on situation, but like you I've got Revs-colored glasses on.

Was nice to see Geiger screw someone other than the Revs though.  That red card was atrocious

Uh, you just trot out a 3-3-4 and call it a day.  NO ONE SITS unless you're a defender.

instead of a diamond midfield, it's a diamond attack.

                                                CR7

Neymar                                                                          Suarez

                                               Messi

Btw, Emre Can with some impressive skills under pressure in the backfield today.  Very composed on the ball with good moves to not only get away but start a couple of those counters that almost led to goals.  I think he's been the MOTM so far along with Lloris.

Switch Suarez and CR7 there

I'm not sure you could put together a team that could stop those 4 up front.  I think the only defense would be to bring out only one camera for the match and see if CR prefers being on camera than working together with the other 3.  Otherwise, forget about it.

he was subbed directly so I think he was really hurt but even so, he was in no obvious danger.

Geiger seems to be making more and more mistakes.

I have not looked this up but it feels like there are a ton of red cards so far this season for all the teams.

Can't believe that ball by Coutinho didn't get turned into the goal one way or another.

Loving the back-and-forth nature of this match right now

Poach doing a hell of a job for Spurs, don't recall the last time I saw this much fight in them. Always considered them soft, not so much now

Pulisic came on for last 10+ of a tie game today.  Sounds like he looked decent.  So impressive to get 1st team mins for a top club at 17.
