I hated this season bit the finale made up for it. Awesome. I think next year will be about his dad. The letters...."i would never sell out ny club, I am not my father" and "my death will come at the hands of my best friend and my wife" are telling.

HOLY ####! That was the single greatest episode of the series. This season was down compared to most but it was still good and this finale was unbelievable. You couldn't ask for a better wrap on a season. It wasn't like last year where you were left wanting more immediately. This gives you so much to digest that by the time September comes we'll have finally got our heads wrapped around what just happened.

Best series on TV right now.

:goodposting: was not crazy about this season at all. But that finale was one of the best episodes of any tv show I've ever seen.

The last 10-15 mins or so with the Neil Young cover was so gut wrenching. You went from sheer terror to joy to foreboding at the end. Next season is going to be great with Hale and the Russians.

Why did someone post that John Teller wasn't Jax's father? I'm pretty sure that is incorrect. This is straight out of Hamlet, and for that to work JTeller is his Dad. What I took from this is (1) John "sold out" SAMCRO at some point and (2) Clay and/or Gemma are deliberately responsible for John's death.

Also, anyone know who some of the people doing the NY song were? Great use of music.

The finale was fantastic. We watched it twice. I am so glad to say goodbye to Stahl. What a b*tch. And I love Unser.

IMO, I don't think Tara is going to tell Jax what's in those letters. She won't leave him without the mother he adores. If she doesn't destroy the letters he could find them during an episode, but no, she won't hurt him that way.

When the show first started, we thought that Clay & Gemma had something to do with John's death. We also thought that Clay might have been Jax's biological father, but I don't think so now.

They are all going to prison for 14 months on the reduced weapons charges Stahl signed and handed to the attorney chickie in the club's parking lot. Opie tore up the paperwork Jax signed about testifying against the IRA guys.

I imagine, by the time S4 comes around, the first episode might include some of their goings on behind bars, Tara will have had the baby, Opie's porn chickie will be preggers, and the Charming Chief of Police will be on his death bed w/ Gemma at his side (obviously, if he has stage 3 cancer -- he's a goner in a future episode). But, I'm just guessing.

Great Finale!!

Good guess indeed. There was a CSI episode with Tigg and Juice playing Miami playboys on yesterday. Funny stuff.

So Clay and Gemma killed John Teller!?
It appears that way. Which will lead for an intense S4. Jax coming to terms with him not being his dad vs uncovering what Clay and Gemma did.
Oops, missing the word "like". It should have read:Jax coming to terms with him not being like his dad.

I think at the end Jax writes in his letter to Gemma that he could never betray the club because "I am not my father," so that's how I took your post.

FYI, Lenny the Pimp was played by Sonny Barger, who is the founder of the Hell's Angels. Incidentally, Sonny grew up in the same neighborhood as my dad. My uncle and some of Sonny's people were in the same "business", but my uncle, being a smart guy, made sure not to step on their toes.

That wasn't a cigarette.

It was one of those funny cigarettes.Echoing something in the AV Club's review, I don't like that Stahl shot her partner and then smiled at the beginning of this ep. when she was in bed alone to make her demise go down easier. SOA hasn't had the same stomach that The Shield has for killing cops: Terry was killed on suspicion of being a rat strictly so Vic could save his own ###, but Stahl and what's-his-name that was stalking Tara had to be made out to be completely off their rocker/evil before they could meet their demise. Bleh. But overall, good ep. You can't trust those SOA previews man, anything big you think they're showing you is almost always a ruse.

Chibs and Opie getting their revenge was sooooo satisfying. Stahl was a fantastic character and her demise was very well done. Great finale.

Sorry for being a Doubting Thomas, but how well constructed was their plan? If one of Stahl's FBI cronies sticks around while the others go ahead to check out the possible ambush, it all goes to pot, no?

They'd probably just kill him as well. 1 guy is better than 5.

Salazar was more a misguided soul. He was very frustrated that everything he knew was falling apart and lashed out like he always has throughout his life. The more he lashed out, the worse things got for him though. Till finally he got his old lady killed and became completely irrational. He seemed remorseful at the end when Jax killed him. I didn't see him as evil at all. Stahl's character was more crazy than evil. She did everything she could to get to the top. I agree the smile was a bit much but I thought of it more as a manic smile. She was completely dellusional and happened to be an ATF agent. The power and arrogance combined with the insanity made her character dynamic. She seemed completely in control at points and so completely vulnerable in others. The first time Opie ambushes her, she is completely terrified. The time she gets a beat down by Otto, she seems like a fragile child. The very end when she realizes whats going on, she breaks down. You almost feel sorry for her.

Quick question: exactly how is it that they are going to avoid going to prison?
Finally watched it, I thought they were doing 14 months. So season 4 is going to be a battle with the Russians? Or will they be caught, or SAMCRO will now be backed by the IRA so won't have to worry?

Incidentally, my uncle also served...14 months.

Backed by the IRA. There will be battles but they have some muscle. And yes they are going to jail for 14months to 3 years.

Who said they had to? Maybe they do next season OZ style.
Kurt Sutter already said that "Sons is not going to become Oz."http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with...ign=rss_kristin
But yeah, I was little surprised that people just hated that f--kin' baby, man. [Laughs.] They just hated that f--kin' baby and I was like, uh, OK. They just didn't give a s--t. I got a lot of angry tweets saying, 'We don't care about the baby.' And I get it, but I wouldn't do anything differently.

 good call. Funny that Otto is played by Kurt Sutter too. I wonder if we will see that character again.and if i had to predict how next season will play out, i would guess we will see them near the end of their prison term for some episodes. I can see the Russians fighting with them for awhile too. Not sure what the major conflict will be, and it is good that they can go a few different directions with how they want to play that out. Refreshing for a series to have this approach
