But that is the thing with RICO is that it does not fall on one person but the whole organization. I think someone mentioned earlier that they thought that the DA might have a connection with Stahl and is thus on a personal vendetta. That actually got me thinking and it actually makes perfect sense of him saying "I wish I didn't" when Otto tells him that he would not understand in reference to why his demands included giving Lenny perks. That is clearly a hint to his motives and a connection to Stahl would make sense. I also think that his target really is the club and he does not care about the cartel or the Irish but uses them to get the resources to take down the club.
 
Just watched 6 episodes in a row last night. I was turned off by the Juice angle and havent watched for 6 weeks but once I saw one episode with him killing Miles, I had to keep going. Crazy, crazy #### going. Never get involved with the Cartel. Its never as simple as muling some coke and then your done.

The whole theme of this season seems to be unintended consequences. Every motive a character is trying to accomplish leads to an even more painful outcome. Juice trying to stay in the club at all costs. Clay trying to cash out at all costs. Jax trying to get out at all costs. Roosevelt trying to find justice at all costs. All of it is backfiring so far.

Definitely the best season yet. No idea how it will end. My guess is that Opie will have a bee line for Clay for the remaining episodes until he confronts him. Clay aint dieing at the hands of anyone but Jax. So I think Opie is going down this season. Clay will take him out somehow when Opie comes for him. Opie just has the aura of a tragic character. Every calamity that could befall his life has done so. He spent 5 years for the club in jail just to have his wife killed due to the paranoia of a selfish *******. He somehow comes to peace with that enough to move on only to find his father is killed by the same *******. He will run head first into Clay and Clay will sneak a blade right in between his ribs when Opie isnt looking.

This show cant go much longer. JAx and Clay is the finale. Whether its this season or next, it will end the show. There will be tragedy in between. I think Gemma and Tara are both going to be casualties. This show has all the makings of a Shakespearian tragedy the likes of Hamlet. Jax will get Clay but will lose everything he ever loved getting there.

 
I was hoping for a more painful exit for Clay. That was disappointing.

I don't remember all the details of the RICO case, but did Opie just save the club?

I'm assuming that weapons meet that was going to bring down the club is now postponed.

Did they have a specific charge for Bobby Elvis or were they just detaining him so he couldn't tell the club Otto flipped?

Since we aren't using spoilers, hopefully everybody entering this thread saw the episode. My question with the bolding, is Clay definitely dead? It looked like Opie hit him twice, both on the sides of the body, and not in the heart or head or anything. Just saw the preview for next week again, and you see Jax holding Clay and yelling for someone to call an ambulance. We also see Unser have Clay in a shop somewhere, and i'm guessing he is doctoring up Clay to make it looks like something else.

Either way, this season has been superb. Very few filler episodes, and the story has been moving out a crazy pace.

Yeah, he could certainly still be alive and, like you said, the preview suggests it. Maybe he'll get that painful death after all.
 
He's not dead yet, Gemma gonna finish this.

Biggest question I had after the previews for next week, whose the knothole that gets thrown through the store window?

 
Clay told Tig he needed to take care of something because he had a bad feeling. I think that was to go get a bullet-proof vest from the cartel (since Gemma warned him.)

 
Great episode and this has been their best season. The whole theme of I intended consequences is right on. That's the overarching theme of most breaking bad, IMO, and it works very well in shows like this.

Clay is not dead. Not like that. But the finale has to Tie some of this up. Charming Heights (which has been largely ignored) is going to play in, the sheriff will have a role, and clay is going to get his. But it can't play out like some big plan because that's what they did last year.

 
How realistic (if anyone knows) is this whole concept of doing whatever you want to your old lady. I know people are pissed at Clay for beating up Gemma but if that was my mom, I probably wouldnt care if Opie shoots him in the head

I have no idea. I'm not accustomed to cultures where the "what goes on between husband and wife is nobody's business" thing extends to severe physical abuse.I don't doubt that those sort of cultures do exist though and, if they do, I'd imagine an outlaw motorcycle club would be at the top of the list.Even in such a case, I'd imagine Gemma's case would be a little different in that she's the VPs mother, the matriarchal figure for the whole club, and Clay didn't just slap her around. He beat the holy hell out of her.

I agree with this. Definitely a "hateable" character but I think Perlman plays the part perfectly. I felt the same way about Stahl...it was awesome watching her get killed, but the actress (Ally Walker, apparently) played the role perfectly, I think.

And let's talk about the "Oh hey, we're Irish crime bosses WHO ALSO JUST HAPPEN TO RUN A BABY FARM OUT OF CHARMING. Would you come along with us and look tough while we try to straighten them out?" plot detour. What?!?First of all, how does this even make sense as a business model? Taking care of a child -- minders, food, medicine, rent -- is pretty expensive. Not to mention the massive legal risks. Not to mention the costs to, presumably, forge documents for these children. What kind of a profit margin can you expect on this? "Honey, we can't conceive. Instead of adopting a child, let's drop five figures on a baby from this weird house that appears in no way to be legit. Come on, live a little."Am I missing something here?

How many times have you shot somebody you know, while having a gun pointed at you? People pointing out the dumbest most minor details of these shows makes these tv threads almost unreadable. Same thing happens in the Homeland thread. In the Survivor thread people know exactly how everything should go after watching a one hour episode once a week while those people live on an island 24 hours a day for over a month. Relax and enjoy the show.

They should have a nationwide vote as to who gets kilt, Opie or Clay.

Hurst is a good actor. I think it's time to cut Clay loose and shake things up a bit in terms of the show.

The hearse/crotch-rocket stuff was just silly writing, but it happens.I didn't have much a problem with Jax trying to stop Opie, even threatening to shoot him. I don't think Jax ever had any intention to shoot Opie and I could see many reasons for him to try to stop Opie. He was probably protecting Opie more than anything. I could also see Jax not quite being ready to kill Clay at the head of the table without giving him a chance to speak to his actions. Unless Clay admits to killing Piney in front of others, the Club may not react so well to Opie killing the President. And deep down, I'm sure Jax would like the chance to do it himself. All kinds of reasons for Jax to try to stop Opie. Threatening to shoot him was his only hope. Following through wouldn't have made sense, but the threat did.
 
I've been out of country and just spent the last 2 days catching up on the full season.

Gemma's character is unbelievably annoying.

Why the f would Juice continue to sell out the club like that after coming clean to Chibs and Chibs sort of being understanding about it? This makes no sense to me. I guess he's trying to be virtuous and believing that the D.A. really wants the IRA only?

"Clay will die by the hands of the sons". Maybe that means Clay is alive but everyone meets at the table with Clay dying and they all decide to finish the job. That's my guess. Firing squad style.

My money is on Adrianna (Drea Dematteo or whatever her name is). She needs to learn to not f with the son(s).

yea, I think I saw splatter too. I can see them doing a thing where Clay goes to the hospital and makes it but I really hope that they don't. I really enjoy watching shows that are story driven and not character driven- where anyone in a dangerous environment like outlaw MC's can get the bullet (A huge reason why Game of Thrones shot up to my 2nd favorite show). Now, SOA will never purely be that because this story is driven by Jax but all other characters around him should and ought to be fair game. And when you can off a guy like Clary BEFORE the season finale... that is awesome. Come on Sutter, we know you have the balls to do this right.

Yeah, I posted a similar observation in The Sopranos thread. It's kind of sad to see her in such a bloated state. Her face is a :bag: worthy so once she lost that body, she became a 2 on the offdee scale :yucky:
