Almost page 4? Wow. Wind has really gone out the sails of this series, I guess.Just rewatched Tuesday's episode. One big thing: I hate Tara. I hated her before and I hate her even more now. Why? She's a hypocrite. Gemma can't be around her kids because she smells weed in her breath, and yet, Tara's picked up the grass herself. Huh?

Of course there's also the very subtle signs that Tara is turning into Gemma...the hair, the clothes etc. People may not have picked up on it because it was done very discreetly.

While on the topic of the guards, how do they expect to clean this up? An inmate is suddenly dead? How do you explain the blunt-force trauma blows that cracked the back of the guy's head open from the autopsy? If Pope's running things, how isn't this done in an easier-to-conceal manner than having some dopey guards betting $20 on a gladiator-style fight that leaves a lot of questions behind?

There was a fight....a prisoner got killed....and noone saw nuttin.

There definitely seemed to be some agreement that he was batting "clean-up."I'm aware of the gladiator scandals in CA prisons, I guess in the cast of SOA, it's a matter of whether they pursue legal action against the guards. Maybe it doesn't go anywhere, but the fact that you have people who witnessed it, and those accounts are going to inevitably be consistent with an autopsy, could cause an issue. My whole point is that it doesn't really jibe with Pope's MO, as it's needlessly sloppy to stage a gladiator fight instead of just having some mope stab him and make it look like a prisoner/prisoner beef.

Opie having a mini-Sean Bean (Alec in Goldeneye, Eddard Stark in Game of Thrones) career...seems like he always dies in whatever he's in.

I doubt "guard induced gladiator games" will be on the autopsy report.

But you have a dead inmate with the back of his skull broken open. Just seems like if someone wanted to pursue his death (and people on the outside will obviously have knowledge of what went down), then any story of how Opie was (presumably) killed by another prisoner would have to be pretty carefully constructed.

The way they were beating on him with the pipe (after the fatal blow) makes me think there won't be much left. Definitely closed casket.

Just saw the episode last night, WOW. Have to go back in here and read thru the comments but even knowing it was coming (thank you Jaysus for that spoiler earlier in the week ) it was still brutal to watch. I know it's a show but that one really made me feel for the characters, great episode. RIP Ope, was hoping he & Jax would rescue the club together but it wasn't to be. Wow

So I am finally watching the last episode and we had some heavy rain when it recorded and a few spots are choppy in my ep. Unfortunately, one was when the guards walked in and asked them if they decided. Next I see is Opie getting his but kicked. So, how was it actually "decided" that it was Op?

Opie nailed the head guard and gave him a bloody nose. Jax, Tig, and Chibbs tried to restrain him, but the guards decided it was Opie because of the assault.Pretty obvious that Opie had a death wish. Donna and Piney, the two he loved the most in life (besides his kids...I guess) died at the hands of the MC. And he's not really talking to his current wife. He decided he had enough and was the logical one to take the fall of the four.

Was a horrible episode. The last 7 minutes were decently written but a disjointed cluster. I love the show but it seems like Sutter let someone else write this episode. You can say it's all setup for the rest of the season but it was crap. Even as filler it should've been done better.

I have faith the storyline with Pope is going to be good, but right now Season 5 is just bad.

I laughed a couple of times last night from the unintentional comedy. I've defended this show many times and I'm far from a film/TV snob, but this thing might be coming off the rails. Or maybe it was always off the rails and I just never noticed.

The acting feels so bad sometimes it's uncomfortable to watch.

Maybe it was his time to go, but the show desperately misses Piney.

He was great on-screen, but I also appreciated his perspective as a link to the past. The club backstory is why I actually liked the Ireland stuff and the letter drama. All that stuff is gone this year, and I think that's hurting. Without the club backstory stuff, all they've got is the 2-bit biker gang trying to get out bad predicament's. That's fine and works in big moments (like last week), but I'm not sure it's enough.

They've replaced Piney and all backstory with more girl drama. Obviously, not a good trade off.

While we're at it, could they not have come up with a better occupation for Tara than surgeon?

I mean, this all already a little hard to buy, but surgeon? (not to mention 2 surgeons on the show that have spent time as biker ol' lady's).

You can pull off the "hey, look, she's in love with a biker, but she's also a productive member of legitimate society too" without going overboard here with something like, you know, neonatal surgeon. They could've made her a nurse and kept the entire storyline largely the same. There are plenty of wonderful, hard scrabble nurses that might've conceivably fallen for an outlaw biker.

It seemed like he wasn't having much trouble finding girls or proper real estate before.

He's basically giving Jax half his money to consult him in an industry he's the expert on and Jax doesn't know jack about.

His answer to Jax should've been "Jax, you seem like a decent kid, but I had a pretty good handle on this thing until your whore mother seduced me. Next think I know, my dream set-up is housing fugitives, old perverts are stalking the place, my best earners are getting curb stomped, and the cops are busting down my door. If you don't mind, I think I'll move on without your 'help'".

Smits seems like a smart fella, so I think he'd at least suspect that the person that ratted him out might be the only person looking to profit from the situation.

Guess it had to happen and I'm glad they are keeping Smits involved. I like him and Jax working together. The deal just didn't seem to make much sense for Smits.
