OFFICIAL Steven Jackson Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

He must be feeling pretty good if he's lifting weights. Its hard to even do upper body exercises with a sore groin.

"Steven Jackson (groin) acknowledged Thursday that he might need to miss this week's game to get healthy for the long haul.

Jackson revealed that he's yet to attempt to run this week. He'd like to get in at least one practice on Friday, though he concedes that he'll be a game-time decision at best this week. After those comments, it's hard to get excited about Jackson as a RB2 even if he attempts to play this week. Sep. 30 - 4:04 pm et

So, if he is unable to play...how high would Ken Darby jump in the rankings?
I doubt he breaks top 25. You gotta figure if SJax is struggling to find yardage and the endzone then Darby/whoever else they have is gonna have a heck of a time doing much.

Jackson is averaging 4.2 YPC. I wouldn't say he's struggling to find yardage. Darby also scored last week. I think if Darby starts he's a decent RB2. I thought he looked fairly good last week against Washington. He's not a great player by any stretch but I thought he looked better last week than in previous games when he's been called upon.

Take away his 42 yard TD run last week and he's averaging 3.4 yards per carry. Not saying that 42 yard TD run wasn't deserved but it accounted for 1/4 of his rushing yardage over a 3 week span. Take week 2 against OAK: 19 rushes for 75 yds (3.9 ypc). Your point is valid but I'm just saying.

Take away all his carries except for his TD run last week, and he's averaging 42 yards and a TD per carry.

Cute. All I'm saying is Jackson is an elite talent and he's struggling to get it done against poor run Ds behind a young and inexperienced O-line. I'm using that line of reasoning to suggest that Darby may not be worth a start in 10-12 team leagues unless you're desperate.

Who was the guy that said that their O-Line is underrated/actually pretty good or some such?

He shouldn't play. Have him on several teams and would like him to play, but he needs to keep the full season in perspective.

No running on Thursday should = no playing on Sunday this early in the season.

Rotoworld- Jackson

Though Steve Jackson concedes that he might have to miss a game to get his groin injury back to full strength, he's intent on at least trying to play on Sunday.

"Sunday we'll definitely go out before the game, warm up, see how I feel" Jackson explained. "Say Friday or Saturday it doesn't happen, I will be there early Sunday seeing if I can run and cut and seeing if I can go out there and give my team a lift." Jackson called this week a "huge game" for the Rams, but he may not be able to just "suck it up" and play due to the soft tissue nature of the injury. He's a full-blown game-time decision

This seems really risky. If he plays he could end up with a more severe injury.

What are you saying??

All SJAx owners are hoping he sits this one out and gets some rest. I picked up Darby who I think might be a sneaky start in PPR if SJax is out since Seattle D is averaging about 5 catches a game to RB's. He probably won't do much on the ground but should be able to put up 10+ points plus possibly a TD.

My definition of good is sit this game and get completely healthy so he isn't dealing with this all year. IMO looking very good. I'd rather not have him this week than be still worrying about this come FF playoffs.

while I never count him out... SJax will sit out this game IMO.

their schedule is very doable in the coming weeks, and they will NEED a healthy Sjax to get into the race. Their next 5 games are ALL possible wins, even against SD who, as of late, has been very unimpressive.

I think the team will really lean on Jackson to rest to try and get 3-4 wins in the coming weeks.

I don't play in fantasy leagues that take away long TD runs. You should try joining one as they are a load of fun. :goodposting:

F'n kids and their short-sighted ways. Should have told SJax he needs him to rest this week and get healthy for the rest of the season.

Rams list RB Jackson as questionable

By Sports Network - The Sports Network

Modesto Bee - 6 minutes ago

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Seattle due to a groin strain.

Jackson, who suffered the injury in a Week 3 win against the Redskins, was a limited participant at practice on Friday after missing the previous two sessions.

Prior to exiting on Sunday, Jackson had 10 carries for 58 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He has 214 rushing yards, a TD and 62 yards on nine receptions through the Rams' first three games.

Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said both Jackson and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (thigh) will be game-time decisions.
