I know this is really going out on a limb, but I am excited for GGG this weekend.
Yes, really looking forward to this one. Jacobs could just do it. I'm picking GGG but...I know this is really going out on a limb, but I am excited for GGG this weekend.
I bet GGG KO months ago for a fairly large sum.Yes, really looking forward to this one. Jacobs could just do it. I'm picking GGG but...
That's a good bet if you got even money or better. Something about Jacobs tho...I bet GGG KO months ago for a fairly large sum.
Way shorter! -225. It's out past -300 everywhere now. I think Jacobs might have his moments, but I think everyone at 168 and below on the planet is almost drawing dead against him, barring a freak injury. That's a good bet if you got even money or better. Something about Jacobs tho...
Got to be at least 175, right?PinkydaPimp said:http://www.boxingscene.com/jacobs-misses-ibfs-second-day-weigh-golovkin-fight--114729
I wonder how much weight Danny is putting on....![]()
He's apparently working with Victor Conte, who says he'll be 178-180 tonight. GGG was 169.6 this morning at weigh-in.Got to be at least 175, right?
I mean, I think he had a ton of potential/expectations 5+ years ago that he didnt reach, but looking at his resume it's almost like he wasn't active enough or fought enough name fighters. He's been almost non-existent since losing to Crawford (still his only loss). I was shocked watching the fight last week when they said he's 35, I thought he was still under 30! Besides age, why should he hang it up?Also Gamboa can hang it up too. He's had about the most disappointing career of any fighter in recent memory.
You are right that inactivity has been a problem for him. The main reason I think Gamboa should retire is that it's clear he's not in the realm of the great fighters anymore, he's 35, his chin is #### and when at his best, he's totally careless about protecting himself. It's a bad combination for his long term health imo.I mean, I think he had a ton of potential/expectations 5+ years ago that he didnt reach, but looking at his resume it's almost like he wasn't active enough or fought enough name fighters. Yeah, I mean at this point, highly unlikely he ever has a chance at a belt again so for long term health, certainly. Gotta get that paper though while you can.You are right that inactivity has been a problem for him. Yeah I don't know what his financial situation is so can't really speak to that, but he's definitely improved his life from where he started in Cuba.Yeah, I mean at this point, highly unlikely he ever has a chance at a belt again so for long term health, certainly. Seriously good, tough fightChocolatito getting tested, oooh wee
Yeah, he's maxed out.Gonzalez's power seems like it hasn't carried. Might be jumping to conclusions here, but what would Inoue have done to him?
If you remember Sergio Martinez, he had a weird tick where was always pulling his shorts up. Guy had 20 different belts and still couldn't keep his shorts up.Boxing really needs a few more belts![]()
and then...This might be 3-0 Jacobs right now....GGG threw a flurry or 2 but otherwisennothing
10-8 rd gennady no doubt, but I like how Jacobs recoveredand then...
I wasnt paying a close eye, but i would say no. Seemed like a close fight, I was surprised they gave the decision to the no name thoughDidn't watch, but was the chocalatito decision a bad one?
Really is, this could be interesting down the stretchOh man, lets go Danny boy...giving Gennady a run for his money
Possibly, but Jacobs is a fantastic fighter and not the type GGG has faced latelyJust a really weird performance from GGG tonight.
Don't forget a few years ago Jacobs was considered the best prospect in all of boxing. His skill level has never been in question.Just a really weird performance from GGG tonight.
Again, the knockdown can be a big swing. Swung the fight tonightBull #### ....Jacobs controlled almost the whole fight, the fact that it wasnt even a split decision is a joke. I dont care want compubox says
For sure. And his movement/defense was incredible, I think that's by far the best I've ever seen him. But GGG just seemed tentative to let it fly.Don't forget a few years ago Jacobs was considered the best prospect in all of boxing. His skill level has never been in question.
Because he didn't want Jacobs to knock him outFor sure. And his movement/defense was incredible, I think that's by far the best I've ever seen him. But GGG just seemed tentative to let it fly.
