Really? I dont think there was a good chance Vargas actually puts Bradley down in those last 10 seconds.Man, Vargas got screwed over there. Bradley got saved. That's the opposite of how their careers usually go.
I wouldn't have a problem with calling it 10-8. That punch was the most dominant thing that happened all fight. Bradley was on queer street. Was it Kellerman who just said that should be a 10-8 round? I dont get that, there was no knockdown and it wasnt that dominant of a round
I doubt it too, but he had a chance.Really? I dont think there was a good chance Vargas actually puts Bradley down in those last 10 seconds.Man, Vargas got screwed over there. Bradley got saved. That's the opposite of how their careers usually go.
yea unfortunately he is going to have to rematch now even though i think he will win that easily.Poor Tim. Another "tainted" win. Nothing like the Manny BS card, but fans are booing and it will be remembered for the ref F up and not Bradley's solid victory.
You know how there's the 10 second warning before a round ends? The wood-knocks in rapid succession? Yeah, apparently the ref thought that was the bell as Vargas was maybe, possibly, possibly, closing in on a Bradley KO. He was in bad shape. Instead, Bradley wins by decision. What happened?
Boxing totally isn't rigged though. You know how there's the 10 second warning before a round ends? The wood-knocks in rapid succession? i cant stand when people cry ''fix'' whenever something doesnt go the way they ''think'' it should...that ref clearly is a 100 years old and should be retired ...bradley can take a punch as well as anyone in boxing and he was moving and holding when possible...he could have just taken a knee if he wanted to ...anyways that was a tad strange but not a big deal ...bradley was far less likely to get knocked out than one might thinkHere's the video.Boxing totally isn't rigged though. You know how there's the 10 second warning before a round ends? I think you're right, both that it's pure incompetence and not dirty, and that Vargas probably wouldn't have knocked out Bradley. He had just tied him up, and probably had to weather about 6-7 seconds after the break and he would've been fine.i cant stand when people cry ''fix'' whenever something doesnt go the way they ''think'' it should...that ref clearly is a 100 years old and should be retired ...bradley can take a punch as well as anyone in boxing and he was moving and holding when possible...he could have just taken a knee if he wanted to ...anyways that was a tad strange but not a big deal ...bradley was far less likely to get knocked out than one might thinkHere's the video.Boxing totally isn't rigged though. You know how there's the 10 second warning before a round ends? the worst stoppage in boxing history that resembled that is Chaves vs TaylorI think you're right, both that it's pure incompetence and not dirty, and that Vargas probably wouldn't have knocked out Bradley. Still, really awful.
i meant clock managementExcept Taylor was being destroyed in the corner and was defenseless.
You know I'm just ####### around, I love the sport as much as the rest of you guys do. You have to admit though, GPJ's post totally read like the fix was in.i cant stand when people cry ''fix'' whenever something doesnt go the way they ''think'' it should...that ref clearly is a 100 years old and should be retired ...bradley can take a punch as well as anyone in boxing and he was moving and holding when possible...he could have just taken a knee if he wanted to ...anyways that was a tad strange but not a big deal ...bradley was far less likely to get knocked out than one might think
Defenseless when the ref was talking to him in the corner with 10 seconds left?Except Taylor was being destroyed in the corner and was defenseless.
jeebus. feel bad for grandpa ref there.... bad in that he should be retired on a beach in FL rather than having anything to do with a championship fight. Here's the video.Boxing totally isn't rigged though. You know how there's the 10 second warning before a round ends? He couldn't even stand up without holding on to the ropes. The refs job isn't to say, well there's only 10 more seconds and you are winning so it's worth the risk that you can defend yourself here. If you are out on your feet and can't fight anymore, you have lost. It doesn't matter how much time is left. Considering Taylor was never the same and has significant cognitive issues today, it's a good thing he Chavez wasn't allowed a free 2 or 3 punches.Daywalker said:Defenseless when the ref was talking to him in the corner with 10 seconds left?Ilov80s said:Except Taylor was being destroyed in the corner and was defenseless.
normally id agree with you ...you know your stuff when it comes to boxing...but with less than 5 seconds left in the last rd of a fight that the ref HAD to have known taylor was winning and that the rd had to be almost thru , waving it off at that time was wrong...even taylor was like ''WHAT ? '' He rose immediately after being knocked down...i will never agree that he couldn't last even 10 more seconds ,let alone 3 or 4 ...how hard is it for a ref to look at the clock in such an important fightHe couldn't even stand up without holding on to the ropes. The ref is neutral. It isn't his job to determine who is winning or strategize what will help a fighter win. He didn't think Taylor was able to continue and he stopped the fight. How much time is left or who was winning is irrelevant.normally id agree with you ...you know your stuff when it comes to boxing...but with less than 5 seconds left in the last rd of a fight that the ref HAD to have known taylor was winning and that the rd had to be almost thru , waving it off at that time was wrong...even taylor was like ''WHAT ? so Refs never institute personal logic and judgment during a fight? The ref is neutral. It isn't his job to determine who is winning or strategize what will help a fighter win. Logic and judgement are important. They should never be applied with the intent of helping a fighter hold on for a win. That is so obviously the opposite of unbiased.so Refs never institute personal logic and judgment during a fight? The ref is neutral. Canelo/Cotto is apparently getting close...Mayweather seriously seems to be considering De La Hoya and GGG really isn't going to have anyone to fight, but at least we'll have that.tdoss said:Rewatched Canelo/Kirkland again...good grief...
Canelo can take you apart with either hand.
I know it's not appropo of late to give him any credit but Mayweather really deserves a lot more props for how he's able to disarm his opponents.
DLH announced today that he's staying retired. Thank goodness.Mayweather/De La Hoya should be poo poo'ed by every fight fan in existence...make sure those guys know that there is NO money to be had making that matchup.
I think Floyd floated DLH and Mayfield so when he fights Khan people are tricked into being excited for it.Mayweather/De La Hoya should be poo poo'ed by every fight fan in existence...make sure those guys know that there is NO money to be had making that matchup.
Not really. Khan is the only one that has been begging for itAh...maybe.
But I'd think there'd be excitement anyway...weren't most calling for Khan to fight Mayweather for a while now?
no way does Payweather take this fight....nooooo waaay
