*** Official T.O. Thread *** (2 Viewers)

Heres a thought.

Wasn't he doubtful earlier in the week. Maybe they know he isn't well and figured this was a prime opportunity to make a statement with the way he is acting. We're all assuming that he was definitely playing. Questionable is 50-50.

Maybe this worked out very well for the Eagles. "Lay down the law" on a guy who might not have played anyway.

I don't know, but its a thought.
Don't know about that. The Eagles are desperately fighting to get into the play offs plus T.O. was practicing this week. I'm sure if this alteration had occurred, T.O. would be playing. Plus, there is no telling how long he will be out.

I suppose it's time to trade him before everyone finds out.
This could be a good time to trade FOR him....Anyone think he could be out more than a game or 2? Considering the Eagles record and division, I dont think we have to worry about them resting their players down the stretch....He would be money the last month of the year if Philly is playing for playoff position.

As an Eagles fan... I think the Eagles are a better team without him.
As an Eagles fan, I fail to understand how anyone can think that statement is true.
Clearly, this clears the way for the people's champion to return. As your avatar would suggest, this would be a good thing.

i'm not saying what TO is doing is right (it obviously isn't) but both sides are parting ways after this season...why suspend him? seriously, who gives a rip? the guys an ### and everyone knows this. do we really believe that there's going to be chaos because the eagles don't suspend him...come on
Its too big of a distraction. Every reporter who talks to an Eagle has questions about the TO situation, and Im betting that every player is sick and f'n tired of it. Its too hard to focus on their next game with all this crap going on.I bet Reid puts a gag order on the team regarding TO and they get back to business.
and suspending him is going to make the questions go away? i understand that they feel they have to make a stand, but it will actually have the unintended, opposite effectsort of like judges/politicians/etc who rail on against a book/cd/whatever...it ends up giving the "problem" more coverage, exactly what they want. unless the eagles are willing to "keyshawn" TO this is all for show imo

Yeah there will be more questions, but Reid can put a gag order on the situation and just tell the media its been handled, and no questions about TO will be allowed to any players or staff, period. He could even restrict players from talking to the media at all so they can focus on business.I dunno, I could see it....

I think he is done. I think the Eagles are done. This is just bad all around. And I have TO & WESTY. This really stinks. I did sign Reggie Brown, but is no TO, but maybe he can step up. Greg Lewis is nothing great. Now it is time to find a way to win without TO. I will take the challenge. I cannot believe they just suspended TO - like that will change him! STUPID!!!

1- atlanta

green bay, seattle detroit wont touch him due to their closeness with reid

parcells, gruden, or al davis all would be crazy enoughj to get him but i dont think they will
why would their closeness to reid mean anything?who's got the cap room for him?

All of the distractions with TO, contracts, and McNabb's injury plus the fact that they have grown accustomed to making the NFC championship rather easily have the eagles playing in a funk. They are much better on paper than they have been on the field this year. This is a team sport. Now the rest of the eagles players (many of whom are talented TO wasn't the only one) can get back to business and they should certainly be a bit more focused. They went pretty far the three years before TO signed up. If McNabb holds up this could help the Eagles and as their 4-3 record and poor outings three straight weeks shows, they weren't going to far with TO this season.

Word from WFAN is that it will be more than 1 game. The issue was the statement read by Owens. Supposedly he did not read the whole statement . there was a part about McNabb he left out and the team wants him to appologize to McNabb or else and they are waiting for what he says this week before determining how long he is suspended. Reported by Ed coleman on WFAN here in NJ . He said word from the eagles was above and if Owens does not appologize to Mcnabb or he opens his mouth one more time he is suspended for a few games or even possibly the year . Again probally a little specualtion from Coleman but it makes sense.

I think the offense will become more like san diego.. where they use the tight end as the primary (L.J. Smith), Westy can be the secondary out of the backfield, and just hit greg and reggie when they're open.. I think the offense can still be productive without T.O..

Remember the crazy comments made earlier this year about Moss and Owens both playing for the Raiders? :loco: Those comments may not sound so crazy this offseason. Philly will dump him after this year and I can't think of too many teams willing to bring the cancer that is T.O. into their organization.

again...who cares? in the grand sceme of the NFL this is pettyagain, the eagles have two options imo...

1) "keyshawn" TO and just end his playing days with philly once and for all

2) grin and bear it

this 1, possible 2 game suspension, is lame and will have zero effect on TO. any positive effects on the team as a whole short-run will be neutralized long-term by the lack of a playmaker at the wideout position (and considering how much they throw that is huge)

:lmao: TO and Moss on the same team. You wanna talk about drama?

 No arguement there.

I dont think sherman (if he is still there) or holmgren would mess with to after seeing what he did to mariucci and now reid's team.Cap room... I'm not sure.. I dont think he will get a payday as big as he wants given that he has shown that he is not a team player (for the length of the contract he would get)...

I agree. HOw thin skinned are the eagles?

TO stated that Favre would be a better option than Mcnabb. and that The eagles didnt recognize his 100th career TD catch.

#1, Favre will never play for philly, so why is it an issue?

#2, the fact that the Eagles dont recognize individual achivements makes TO look stupid.

By responding to TO's comments, the Eagles took the bait. And now they just cut off their nose to spite their face.

Yeah... like telling your boss or workmate that he/she is an idiot, and his peer at a competing firm would be much better suited. Yeah... TO has and exhibited his free speech right... he spoke alright.Curious if he's f'd in the head, or his posse fills him up with delusionary stature...

Denver, Washington, Tampa, Oakland and Balitmore have all shown a willingness to take on the problem children of the NFL. Tennessee has also started to overlook character problems recently. Denver and Baltimore, in particular, seems like a likely place to land for TO. Baltimore of course would only happen if 2004's drama can be overcome.

The dumb thug doesn't realize that he can kiss any big contract good-bye. Hell who'd want to put up with his ### anyway. Good job Eagles

exactly

 to the PHI organization for sitting him. He has no class as everyone knows and for him to say the PHI org has no class is just mindless. PHI is 4-3 with him so it's not like he is the answer to victory every week. This is good for the league.

During his pre-season hold out, it was reported that TO has a clause in his contract. The Eagles could recoup $1.7 million of his signing bonus for actions detrimental to the team. The Eagles did not exercise that option then. Can they still? This makes me wonder if the Eagles will use TO suspension to their advantage in the off season.

Yeah. In a team concept, it is far more wise to let such vocal discord further splinter a clubhouse. Much better to show the example that if you become a detriment to the team, there will be no reprecussions. I mean really. Why look at the overall picture of not only this player, this week - but rather take a moment to think of the team context, how the team can move forward from this, how to avoid such disasters in the future, how to build a cohesive, winning unit, how to build a franchise which respects itself not to let an idiot of a narcissist do and say what he wants when he wants without any regard to the other players that lay it on the line week in and week out.

yeah poor T O has it all going against him. just can't seem to catch a break.
I meant that he should be able to say whatever he wants to without penalty
He can say whatever he wants...but not without penalty. He can say McNabb stinks and nobody loves me here and blah de blah blah blah. The Eagles can say whatever they want too...and they did. T.O....you're suspended!
