## OFFICIAL ## Taylor Swift thread (1 Viewer)

That's what she was going to do before they changed their minds. Which is why they changed their minds.
She was only going to pull her latest album from the service... which she's held back from spotify as well. The balance of her catalog was and still will be available on the platform.

And nice way to duck the point...

While I agree Apple should definitely cut into their $200BB cash horde to pay artists over the trial... Swift has a bit of hypocrisy flowing here with her "Artists should be paid for their work / We don't work for free" manifesto.

It kinda reeks of a "I stand for artists rights and proper compensation of content creators....when it benefits me"

Heh. IP always cuts both ways. I would rarely side with the artist, because chances are, if the multi-multi-multi-millionaire artist is complaining about money, chances are she's gaming the IP or contract system in a way that benefits her at the expense of the public.

Color me skeptical.
Everyone is skeptical of everything these days. Can't do anything without people questioning your motives.

Photographer Jason Sheldon has now penned an open letter to Swift, supporting her battle against Apple but calling on her to change her own stance on image rights.

Sheldon wrote: "I applaud it. It's great to have someone with a huge following standing up for the rights of creative people and making a stand against the corporate behemoths who have so much power they can make or break someone's career."

However, he went on to post a contract photographers are asked to sign when they attend her concerts, which stipulates that the photographs can only be used once and that worldwide rights belong to the artist.

He continued: "How are you any different to Apple? If you don't like being exploited, that's great... make a huge statement about it, and you'll have my support. But how about making sure you're not guilty of the very same tactic before you have a pop at someone else?

"Photographers need to earn a living as well. Like Apple, you can afford to pay for photographs so please stop forcing us to hand them over to you while you prevent us from publishing them more than once, ever.

"With all due respect to you too Taylor, you can do the right thing and change your photo policy. Photographers don't ask for your music for free. Please don't ask us to provide you with your marketing material for free."

Yeah those 2 things aren't actually at all alike.

That is either Jason Sheldon trying to make a name for himself, a satirical piece or a "woo is me, I can't use your image to make money so change your policy." Guys a tool.

Not sure I equate taking a photo with writing or performing a song.
Exactly. The law is totally different for the two. The songwriter has property rights to any song they write. A photographer only has commercial rights over a photo of an individual if the individual gives consent.

Crying because a performer refuses to let you make continual money off of a photo that you took of them at their performance is incredibly pathetic.

And I don't know what all his rambling is about regarding her having the money to pay professionals. My guess is that either she already does that, or has no need to do that as her promotional media is all done outside her performances.

May 17th never seemed so far away.
July 11 for my Concert!!!!!

CANT WAIT!!!!!
Just an awesome show!!!!.... The light up wrist bands that make the entire stadium light up synchronized were pretty damn cool...

Only complaint is that it's a long night for most of the kids she attracts..... went on at 9:30 or so and ran thru 11:30 after 3 warm up acts...

Special night for younger kids tho most going to their 1st large concert.....

Oh... and MILF central.

Wife and daughter went to the show last night in DC. From what they told me, at least she is doing the stadium thing right. Good opening acts, she performed for 2 hours, big stage with long extension into the field and huge screens, catwalk rising into the air, fireworks, everyone in audience had a light up bracelet that flashed along to the music, Lorde was the surprise guest. Expensive to go but she's giving the crowd an old school performer effort.

Anyone have any tickets for the Miami show they want to sell?

Best I've seen is $640 each.
I'd wait it out - The tickets I had were selling for over $500 for weeks up to the show...

The day of the show when I thought I might have to unload 2, it seemed like prices were coming down fast - especially on Craislist and such...

Yeah. Not sure what show could compare to take her to next. My kid thinks every concert is like that now.... lol

The bracelet thing was Nutz - Phish needs to do that!!!!!

JFC. That's insane.
Small venue, one night, winter season, closest she comes to Miami/Ft Lauderdale/Boca/West Palm Beach, lots of rich and "In crowd" people = super bowl prices.

If I do end up getting tickets it will be day of or day before. I expect a major crash in price.

Jesus. She just got in a twitter war with Minaj that showed her newfound and ####### lesbo-feminist stripes.

Can't wait for this trainwreck to come out and just go full dyke already. Cyrus is ahead of you.

And has a special, decorated room for her girlfriend, whom she makes out with at concerts.

But enough of the lesbian accusations. It's reductively clear she's tooting the feminist chute when it comes to her Minaj war.

Get to it: what are you up to?

Frederick, MD farm has Taylor Swift corn maze

“Taylor Swift emanates a fun and positive image for today’s young people,” Teresa Greenwood, one of the farm’s owners, said in a statement. “Swift’s generosity toward charitable causes is one thing, but perhaps more importantly, she dares to be different, embracing the power to be all that she can be … and encouraging her fans to do so as well.”

There will be “Taylor-made” clues throughout the maze to help people navigate the cornstalks. According to Summer Farm, the maze is divided into phases and is suitable for all ages. There is a smaller maze for young children and a “super challenging larger maze” for older participants.

Can't wait to hear this award winning single when it hits the internet. Taylor Swift singing about tugjobs or handjobs or whatever goes on in Thai massage parlors is going to sound sweet out of her mouth (pun intended) and piss off Thailand.
