***Official Texas. Vs. The Nation Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

#8 for the Nation - nice catch out of the backfield (have to check who that was).

Hollenbach nearly picked, again. not great decisions.

6:42, 3Q - Rascati throws deep to EZ (about 40 yds) - near INT - 50/50 ball - Ryan Moore intended receiver.

(Ryan at it again - blitzing CB, illegal)

Getting interesting.

Justin Vincent - poised kid - LSU RB looking to re-establish himself at the Combine.

R. Taylor - nice run, then draws a personal foul. He's been barking all night.

Kendrick Dozier (WR, former QB) from Langston (TX) with a nice 10 yard catch on a slant. Went up for the catch and caught with hands nicely.

Nation - 53 - INT by Taurean Charles (Bethune Cookman) for a TD. Pass from Collins was a forced 5-yard out that Charles was in perfect position (should not have been thrown in the first place). Nice blocking by 48 - Xvavie Jackson (U of Missouri- Columbia). 60 yard TD return.

Quenton Smith, another nice run.

Also a nice run by Mason out of Yale - more of a 2-3 cut run vs. Smith's speed to the outside.

James Finley, Oregon - nice 10+ yard slant catch and 10 or so more YAC. Good throw by Collins (Oxy). He fumbled it on the tackle, but the whistle was blown (Break for Texas).

End of 3rd Quarter.

Mosley with 3 of the next 4 carries. Seven on the day - 37 yards, two scores. Just pounded it in from 1 yard.

Nice TD (of course, running behind Barbre is also making him look quite good, but Mosley looks solid).

McFadden with the other carry (Big kid, 5 11, 250 - Grand Valley St.)

Michigan TE Tyler Ecker with his second catch - nice 10 yard out.

Follows that up a few plays later with his third over the middle.

Good size for a TE - should get drafted I'd think.

Justin Hairston with a nice 10 yard run.

Take note of him. Three years at Rutgers, transfers to Central Conn. St.

168 yards a game. 6-1, 210. Led Div 1 - AA in rushing.

MOORE.

Second TD of the game. Very nice pass from Rascati (see you in Indianapolis).

Safety blitzed, by the way.

Very solid route and throw. Tapped his toes for the 11 yard score. Ball was snapped from between the hashes and the throw goes to the left side of the end zone about 8 yards deep in the EZ. Moore shields the ball from the defender with his big frame.

Larry McSwain - he's everywhere. He defended a pass on the left sideline this time.

He was covering a guy in the slot who ran a chair / out and up. (Granted the throw was short, but still good athleticism).

8 minutes to go, UTEP's Troy Collavo recovers a muffed punt and runs it into the end zone....but you can't advance a muff. Texas ball.

3:30 left.

Dereck Smith (Hampton) catches a nice 21 yard pass from Jeff Smith out of Georgetown College (NAI school in Kentucky, not the big East basketball school) for a first down. Smith made a nice leaping catch (but then over-celebrated it).

Man they are getting big guys at TE.

6'8 260 Cody Boyd from Washington State gets loose in the prevent for a 20 yard catch down the middle of the field.

Xzavie Jackson tips a pass at the line, getting another mention.

James Finley (Oregon) with a 4th down catch for a new set of downs.

Daniel Robinson(UTEP) with a nice crossing route, snatching the ball for a first down.

Antoine Barnes (blitz inside...?) from FL International gets a sack. Inside blitzes also not legal.

This game could finish ugly....

...and of course the game ran long and I don't have the last :33 seconds of the game.

Oh well, I saw enough.

Chaos, did I miss anything?

Toby Korrodi, Texas QB from Central Missouri State, did not play. I assume he was actually there since he is listed on the roster. Anyone know why?

I dont know why he wasn't there. Andy Collins (Occidental) replaced him. There were a few other no shows, Quentin Echols (NT-Kansas St) and Willie Gaston (DB-Houston)
