I'm sick of all you jerks and your good rolls. I'm cheating like halos from here on out.
With B/C+ defense though. To me the appeal of Mays was the depth of offensive production seasons that came with A or A+ range. I'd have put 65 in the mix for him but wouldn't have been happy about it.Roll confirmed. You got the 52 HR season, if memory serves.1.08 (8) Willie Mays - CF
Years: 54, 55, 57, 58, 64, 65
Thrilled to nab this transcendent player, and one many consider the best all-around player of all-time, at #8. Roll forthcoming.
Imagine: it's the 18th round, you've punted a scarce position all draft, and now you're ready to name the last guy with 3 solid seasons. After that, a handful of guys have 2, and then it's all one-season wonders.A quick perusal of the draft board reveals that 3 other drafters are doing the same thing at the same position.Yeah, that'll probably be the only option at some positions. This may be the first sim where the late rounds/rolls are crucial.

Left out an important detail -- he rolled a 6 for Mays.
I honestly don't think it'll be that big of a deal...almost all of the positions are surprisingly deep with guys with 6 "playable" years. The biggest difference I see is that drafting for one specific need is basically history.Imagine: it's the 18th round, you've punted a scarce position all draft, and now you're ready to name the last guy with 3 solid seasons. Do you want to go on autoskip, and potentially blow an extra 16.67% chance at landing a quality guy? He||s no.

I'm pissed that everyone cheated in the roll for draft position. 454 should have me picking now, and I'd be pretty happy with that.Instead I gotta sweat it out until 13.more cheating?Left out an important detail -- he rolled a 6 for Mays.

973-344-3033I wanted to wait for Avoiding Injuries since I have no clue what he would prefer but I can't find him. I got it narrowed down to three guys but I really would like his input. Anyone got his text #?
Yeah ... but "playable" gets smacked around by "elite" in this thing.I honestly don't think it'll be that big of a deal...almost all of the positions are surprisingly deep with guys with 6 "playable" years.

Honestly, he wasn't all that high....having said that, there's very little difference between picks 6 and 24 (ie he's in that group). Hell you got about as good as season as I did with Johnson though I do have 100 more inningsSammy> How high was Maddux for you? I was hoping to hit a homerun there.
Well see...I think everyone's getting wrapped up in "elite" when at most 25-30% of the seasons will be "elite" this time around....it doesn't help matters that Ruth and Bonds are going to be ridiculous Bonds and Ruth though.Yeah ... but "playable" gets smacked around by "elite" in this thing.I honestly don't think it'll be that big of a deal...almost all of the positions are surprisingly deep with guys with 6 "playable" years.

Really though I could get one of two great seasons and if not get #3 or #4 and be happy.
I still haven't finished my rankings. Having a hell of a time querying out the top 6 seasons. Thought that would be a cakewalk for me...I plan on aiming for their heads and hoping for a season ending injury. Will be tough to get Ruth, but with Barnside-Head Bonds, we definately have a chance.Well see...I think everyone's getting wrapped up in "elite" when at most 25-30% of the seasons will be "elite" this time around....it doesn't help matters that Ruth and Bonds are going to be ridiculous Bonds and Ruth though.Yeah ... but "playable" gets smacked around by "elite" in this thing.I honestly don't think it'll be that big of a deal...almost all of the positions are surprisingly deep with guys with 6 "playable" years.
I found that it was much easier to do if you limited the ABs (which is one of the reason pitchers were such a bear since there's no way to limit them) and then cut them off below a certain threshold. That certainly helped...it also didn't help that I couldn't figure out how to make PivotTable do multiple columns.Honestly, he wasn't all that high....having said that, there's very little difference between picks 6 and 24 (ie he's in that group). If think an hour with some deference to the westies in the morning should work. Give piky your cell, leave lists don't get skipped. What's a good draft clock for the day after round #1 ends?1 hr?90 min?2 hrs?
I didnt actually think that was a real # LMAO.I just PM'd PIK. Pick should be coming...Please stop posting my cell number on the internet. Thanks.
Personally ... I find one hour can be a bit too brisk. But that's only me personally. One-hour limits do keep things moving in case of an absence. I think we can all agree that 9 times out of 10, if a person is not here (somewhere on FBG) when they're OTC, they aren't going to rush in with 2 minutes left on the clock. What's a good draft clock for the day after round #1 ends?1 hr?90 min?2 hrs?

Time to find a new job, guy.####! I can't access WIS here at work now! WTF!
Working on it. It looks like 03-04-05-08-09-10 but we are hashing out 10 and 11 and one other. I thought I heard someone say innings pitched are important? We have never done anything like this. What years and roll are you using for Matthewson?
Not an option at this point.Time to find a new job, guy.####! I can't access WIS here at work now! WTF!
IP are an important factor in WIS salary, but doesn't affect how players perform during a game.Normalization is important in comparing players across different eras. If you search the term in the WIS forums, you should be able to find some good info. When drafting pitchers, you need to keep an eye on normalized HRs and BBs allowed rates.Working on it. I might be singing the same tune. Jackass IT guy won't let me plug my personal laptop into their network anymore even though I tried spinning it as a conveninece since my laptop can run circles around the dog#### PC's in the mailroom and the fact that viruses or spyware couldn't infect my computer no matter how hard they tried because I have my laptop pretty well secured. So its better to have more ip or less? I have no idea what those stats are or where to find them. Also, what do I punch in the dice servers?IP are an important factor in WIS salary, but doesn't affect how players perform during a game.Normalization is important in comparing players across different eras. More IP is better, because that's about how many IP you'll be able to use from your player in the season without him fatiguing. However, what Eephus probably wanted to point out is the common newbie mistake of leaning heavily on salary... 300 IP that will be garbage in our league may have a higher salary than 200 excellent IP.So its better to have more ip or less? The normalized and log5 stats can be had in the WIS Draft Center. The rolling instructions are in post #1.So its better to have more ip or less?
