***OFFICIAL TRADE RUMOR THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

I'll take the initiative and start the needed Rumor thread. It has to be done, before this turns into the TMZ of football.

So if you hear a rumor, post it here. Maybe we can eliminate useless threads and allow others to decide if they want to believe the rumor in here and at the same time stop a lot of people from just getting mad at them. Because you can't get mad at someone posting a rumor in here, because thats what this thread is about.

Below are the links to the other rumor threads already made in the Pool. Yeah, I know, it is a lot.

Kenny Britt to Patriots

Kenny Britt to Patriots #2 (Yes, because it had to be posted, twice)

Josh Gordon to 49ers

Josh Gordon to Patriots

Larry Fitz to Patriots

Nicks for Stewart

Broncos trade Rumor

Has a rumor thread ever come true?

Wow I make am error by clicking the post button twice because I had 1 bar of internet and it was extremely slow and I never hear the end of it.....

In Baltimore there is serious talk about the Ravens trading for a WR. La Confora reported that they are in deep in talks.

I see Hakeem Nicks and Kenny Britt being the most realistic option. Both are bigger receivers and would compliment Smith very well.

Fitzgerald is out on the block and there are some rumors with him, but the Ravens don't have the cap space to pull that off.

Gordon is another player out there but I doubt the Browns would trade within the division.

Blackmon could be an option but I haven't heard much about him being on the block.

Unfortunately, Baltimore is tied to Joe Flacco for a while, so it really won't help these receivers too much.

Thompson shocks the world and trades for Tony Gonzalez

Rumor I heard this morning, but I give it a .0000001% chance of happening.

Seems like a buyers market for teams that need a WR. Fitz, Gordon, Nicks, Britt.

WR is probably a hard position to pick up mid-season, so that could prevent any trades. However, a guy like Jarred Allen could literally make an impact this Sunday.

Meanwhile, in the discount racks, John Oehser says that things are quiet for the Jags even with their Blue Light Specials.

Schefter reporting that Seahawks trying to trade for Jared Allen. A 2nd team is also talking to the Vikes.
The rich get richer. It def pays to have a starting QB on a rookie contract.
But no OL to block for him. They need some vet tackles and/or guards p, not another DE. Plus, early round picks will be very valuable to them as they'll inevitably lose a few core players to FA when they finish their rookie contracts.

The graphic they showed last night had about six pro bowl caliber players for under 5% of the cap this season. Wright, Wagner, Wilson, Thomas, Sherman and Browner all count for under $1mil each.

Everybody out there needs to understand that I'm not naive to it," Gonzalez told ESPN.com. "I see it, too. This is the last (nine) weeks of my career. And right now, things are looking ... you never know.

"But, like I said, I love my guys on this team too much to go ask for a trade. It would be something that would come from them where they said, 'Hey, it makes sense because we could get something good for you and send you to a team that's a contender.' So I understand the thought process behind that."
Tony's open to a deal. Just wish the Falcons were too. Lots of teams could use him.

Washington Post - The Cleveland Browns made a big splash earlier this season by sending running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a draft pick. Now, might they move (Josh) Gordon? They’re seeking a second-round pick, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

I thought it was reported last week that they already had two (2) standing offers that included 2nd round picks?

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Seahawks are not one of the teams pursuing Vikings RE Jared Allen ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

Glazer confirms two teams are after the walk-year pass rusher, but is adamant Seattle isn't one of them. It's notable because Glazer and Allen are off-the-field friends. We'll know Allen's status by 4PM ET Tuesday.

Guess not?

Denver is interested in Allen. Since the latest rumor is Seattle is NOT interested, I don't know who the other team might be.

I would imagine maybe SF or could KC be interested? I'm not familiar with their DL

As a packer fan I would be happy to see Allen leave the NFC N.

He's not as good as he used to be in his prime, but he's one of the better DL out there still

And we all know the Vikings will blow the pick on an oft-injured LB, an overhyped WR with speed and nothing else, or another crappy QB.

Jared Allens cap number-7.5 million. Easy to cough up compensation, hard to figure that into the cap, especially if there is no re-working of the deal.

I'm unfamiliar with trade deadline trades for the nfl...

Is it possible to work a trade so that the Vikings pick up half or most of his salary. That would make him more tradeable. I know they do that in MLB and NBA

I've seen this on Bronco forums, but figured it was wishful thinking. Where have you heard it?

They do not do that in the NBA.

With all of the talk of a Jared Allen trade to ?? before the deadline, it is interesting that the Vikings re-signed defensive end Justin Trattou.

Talking about it on the radio right now. Not sure where it's coming from

If it's true that the Browns want a second rounder for Gordon, that would seem like a no brainer. On the right team with the right mentorship, he could be a franchise WR.

In MLB, you pretty much have to bc there is all of the money guaranteed.

You most likely see a guy extended, moving some bonus money around and taking on a lower salary. Low salary/higher bonus =Flexibility

Pretty sure Allen is in the last year of his deal, so he is your typical mercenary type deal

Gordon already is a franchise WR. Off-field issues aside, there are only 4-5 other WRs a GM would rather have.

I don't understand why Cleveland would move him for even a 2nd rounder. Even if they draft another WR with a top-10 pick to replace him, what are the chances he's as good as Gordon? I'd say less than 50/50.

According to RW, Gil Brandt tweeted it.
got it. I'm seeing tweets WRT Broncos and JA. lots of conflicting reports:

Mike Klis @MikeKlis

I talked to high-ranking Broncos source this morning and team was not in on Jared Allen. Shaun Phillips has 6.5 sacks. Jared Allen has 4.5.

Adam Kinney @DSNAdam

Hearing offer could be as high as a second round pick for Jarred Allen, but Denver wants to ensure Allen stays long term before deal is made
Vic Lombardi @VicLombardi

Yup. Definitely something cooking at Dove Valley. We'll see. Trade deadline one hour away.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m

Broncos not in on Vikings DE Jared Allen. Options diminishing.
