Baseball is about run differential, and the Sox are far and away #1 in this category. They score a lot, and don't give up many. Seems pretty simple to me...

You don't have to convince me they didn't need to add to their bullpen but did need to add a bat to a so-so line-up, I already knew that. 1100 AM in Cleveland is reporting that there is a possible twist to this Wickman deal and it could end up being a big trade that goes down to the deadline with league approval. They have a contigent deal in place with Cleveland and JS has jumped in and is in hot pursuit of Javier Vazquez.
The Braves are looking to trade Wickman to the Indians for Cliff Lee. Then JS trades Lee, Reyes, and Escobar to the White Sox for Vazquez.

Just my perspective, I've been wrong before.There is still trading available...players just have to clear waivers. I think all of these players, except Escobar would clear waivers...just a thought

No major position deals were struck for Boston. Ellsbury will prob be brought up once rosters expand... but he's certainly not a top end plug for that hole.
