Yeah because the offense went out and then came off and the field goal unit came on and then they changed their mind again and had to waste a timeout instead of just going ahead and kicking the XP.No they didn't have to.Because they had to waste a timeout. Why? If they had kicked the XP they'd still need the 2-pointer now anyway. The 2pt conversion has the same success rate whether you do it then or now.I'm one of the biggest "wait to go for 2" proponents out there, but in this case they were absolutely right to go for it early. In fact, they're even better off. Think about it, assuming that either 2 pointer is going to have the same result (no reason to think one is more likely to convert than the other), at least now you know you need two scores and can play appropriately. If they were down 8 here they would be playing thinking they were down one score and would likely leave themselves no time for when the 2 pointer fails.I guess that is why you don't go for 2..lol
Wow, you really don't get it, do you? Are you Childress? Shouldn't you be paying attention to the game and not posting here? Now they need two scores. I'd rather be in a one possession game any day.Jaws> hate to break this to you, but if they went for 1 earlier they'd still have to go for 2 here. You have to go for 2 either way. It's not that hard.
Dude, use your brain. If you assume the two point conversion has the same end result either way (no reason it wouldn't), then they need the two either way. When they miss it doesn't matter, and in fact is better to miss it early because now they can play knowing they need to score twice rather than just once.Because now it's a 2 possession game. Would it have been with the 1?Don't think so.Why exactly? You still have to go for 2 on one or the other.Invalid point is invalid. And that's why you go for one on the previous TD
I think this is a different case. If they had scored 6 to make it 14-15, and were in a "tie or win (lead)" scenario, they could go for two and if they fail, Jets make it 22, they're down 14-22 and an 8 point score (1 possession for a TD + 2) ties later. But in this case, the fail followed by a Jets score requires 9 points (2 possessions). It might be a chart scenario. But I'm drunk.Jaws> hate to break this to you, but if they went for 1 earlier they'd still have to go for 2 here. You have to go for 2 either way. It's not that hard.
If you want to argue that they were stupid for ever trotting the kicking team out there on purpose to force them to burn a timeout then sure, no one's going to argue with you.The only mistake they made was sending the kicking team out on the field in the first place.Yeah because the offense went out and then came off and the field goal unit came on and then they changed their mind again and had to waste a timeout instead of just going ahead and kicking the XP.No they didn't have to.Because they had to waste a timeout. Why? Moss, Moaeki, and Amendola have had better catches off the top of my head.Catch of the year
Your argument is that the coaching staff was hesitant, not that you shouldn't go for 2 there.Yeah because the offense went out and then came off and the field goal unit came on and then they changed their mind again and had to waste a timeout instead of just going ahead and kicking the XP.No they didn't have to.Because they had to waste a timeout. Why? Please read through this again when you're sober. Maybe then it will make sense.I think this is a different case. They fail to get the two, which they did, it creates the opportunity to have what happened happen. You create the opportunity for a 2 possession game. I see no logic in putting my team in a position to be down 2 possessions in the 4th quarter.Dude, use your brain. If you assume the two point conversion has the same end result either way (no reason it wouldn't), then they need the two either way. This never occurred to me either. txWow I just realized if the Vikings just kicked the XP earlier they could have tied the game
He's done that his whole career..just an observation from the game. Randy Moss pushes off every time he has a ball thrown his way. they called the one where Cromartie feel, but that was more of their feet getting tangled.
Saved by the Jets. You have to run a sweep there to take off time.Idiotic timeout by Childress. The next play will take 7 seconds to run and the two minute warning will occur.
Worst Favre joke yet.Practice on the pole?I'm a psychic in my day job. Now what do I do???Don't quit your day job.I sense an 18-13 lead coming, with time for a Favre drive.
