Guice and Brantley to IR

CB Deion Harris to PS

Robert Davis called up from PS to active roster

McCoy still NOT on IR; they think he might be ready after week 3.  Ready for what? To play a quarter and get hurt again?

Jonathan Allen OUT for Sunday. Dunbar questionable. Reed not on field today. Moreau going through drills today.
They need to put McCoy on IR or trade him.

Partham signed to PS.  They may need to call him up unless they only want to dress 2 TEs

Sunday is going to be ugly. Wife is a 'boys fan. Guess I'll need to find something to do for those three hours.
You sound like me only younger. My wife and I cheer our teams, but we don't gloat or trash talk each other, so it works out. She's great to watch football with. If you want to hear someone completely trash bad football announcers she's the one to listen to. Best one I remember is "Do his children know sounds that stupid to make a living?"

I just wish the Skins would win more of the Cowboy-Redskin matchups. But we're in year 5 of the Lost Years under Gruden. Or is it year 6? Or 700? It gets hard to keep track of the endless sub-mediocrity.

Prior to 1999, the margin was at least a respectable 26-33. At that point, it was a legitimate rivalry...

...however...12-28 since Danny bought the Team, if I'm not mistaken. A rivalry, that is not.

Yep. Dallas Week is no longer a thing. Such a shame what this franchise has become.

The health of the Redskins' secondary prompted them to seek veteran experience rather than promoting one of their own off the practice squad. They signed Aaron Colvin, who was cut by the Houston Texans Tuesday -- one day after he allowed a key catch to New Orleans' Ted Ginn, leading to a game-winning field goal. Colvin was criticized for how much cushion he gave Ginn on the play.
So he already knows our system.

Corners Fabian Moreau (doubtful with an ankle injury) and Quinton Dunbar (questionable with a knee injury) might not play Sunday. Moreau almost definitely won't while Dunbar did not practice the last two days. Colvin has started 28 games in his career. Washington also has Josh Norman, Jimmy Moreland and Domonique Rodgers- Cromartie. They signed corner Simeon Thomas earlier in the week, but that was mostly for special teams. They also have Adonis Alexander on the practice squad. Like Thomas, he's not viewed as someone who could help from scrimmage immediately.

These two D-linemen will play plenty for the Redskins in Week 2 despite just getting here

Treyvon Hester signed with the Redskins on Sept. 2, while T.Y. McGill joined the franchise on Sept. 10. That means the two players, come Sunday, will have been with the Burgundy and Gold for a combined total of 18 days.

Oh, and they're both in position to play for Washington in Week 2 despite just recently being added to the roster. In a very vital contest, by the way. Because of injuries to Jonathan Allen and Caleb Brantley, Hester and McGill are slated to see the field a good amount against the Cowboys. That's far earlier than Jay Gruden would like to be seeing them debut, but the coach has no choice.

Redskins already most injured team in the league going into Week 2. They have 6 players downgraded to Out/Doubtful, not including T. Williams. Only one team has 5 (Jaguars)

Washington saying they want to protect the defense with a controlled run game today. If they're running, who else will get it?
Gruden says a lot of things.  If they go down they will lean on Thompson. And sadly even if they aren’t they have a tendency to stop running when they should.

Gruden's known for abandoning the run when they get behind. He's done it as early as the second quarter of games. If the game is close and the run is working Peterson could have a good day; he did gain 99 on Dallas one game last year. But he could just as easily get 9 carries, and be on the field less than Thompson.

Inactives: QB Colt McCoy, TE Jordan Reed, G Wes Martin, C Ross Pierschbacher, DL Jonathan Allen, CB Quinton Dunbar, CB Fabian Moreau

Looks like a "We're Screwed" list to me.

At least we should see a LOT of Moreland. It's shocking to me they have put themselves in a position where the guy taken a few months ago with the #227th pick in the draft is their #2 CB this early in the year. Well, not really.

Peterson looks a tad slower and goes down a little easier than last year.

Defense looks confused again on deep routes.

OL keeps holding.

Keenum throws an ugly deep ball.

I think we are headed for a blowout unless the coaching staff makes some good adjustments...oh, wait. Ok, maybe our hope is a series of good luck plays.

How many times have they broken the huddle with about :10 on the play clock and then rushing to snap with :00?

Oh, look, again and had to waste a timeout.

From Al Galdi on Twitter:

“Jay’s comments to Pam Oliver that AP’s running style “limits the offense & gives the defense way too many opportunities” are far more of an insult & much worse than the I-formation comment. Jay has never talked like this publicly about a #Redskins player other than RG3 in 2014.”

Woah, Jay being a complete ****.  Is he trying to lose the locker room?  What could possibly be his motivation for saying this?

And many in the media - radio, at least - will defend coaches by saying its all about player execution. I’m always baffled by those who downplay the importance of coaching.
980 radio talkers routinely defend "the team" which to them means "front office and anyone they're currently backing". It's not a reasoned stance;  it's based on the personality of the talkers. 980 isn't owned by the Redskins any more but the sucking up to the front ofice continues. Sheehan is the worst and Galdi is bad as well in that regard --- their personalities do not abide bucking the front office. Witness the Trent Williams bashing that has gone on (by Sheehan for years, and by Galdi this year). They're just sycophants with no balls.  In the offseason they'll criticize the front office, but once the season begins everything is the players' fault to them.
