***OFFICIAL*** Washington Commanders Thread (4 Viewers)

Another win for my boy. Yes, I agree his arm strength is not good but I saw Brady go from noodle arm to one of the stronger armed QBs so it can be built up.

Looking forward to you guys drafting that 1st round QB though.

Hahaha get off our nuts bro.  Worry about dem boys.

I dont make a habit of coming into your team thread talking smack but since you opened the door, aint nobody sweating the Skins. I root for the QB out of pity for my friends who are local. This organization is straight trash. You know this, everyone in this thread knows this. Its not even up for debate.

Come December 12th I will be in your stadium, once again watching you and your fans walk to the exits in the 3rd quarter. :bye:  🍺

Jokes on you. They don’t hardly even come anymore.
And Heinicke is a better QB this year than Fitzpatrick would have been. 9 starting QBs in the past 3 years…Skins fans should be happy this guy is doing what he is. If Haskins played like this last year everyone would be on his jock.

Then why don't you knock it the #### off? People can talk football without being #####.

Cmon Fatty, please re-read the above. I didnt start that and I dont have any plans of continuing it. He felt the need to be rude to me and I responded....I would say politely, all things considered.

Happy they won.

I wonder if tress way being left footed stopped them from kicking a 19 yard FG with 2.30 left in the game.  Gotta think it’s hard for the holder from the other side if they don’t do it all the time.  You would think a person that can kickoff can give a 19 yarder at least a good chance. That would have put the game away right there. Assume Rivera was scared it would go 99 yards the other way.
I actually thought the bigger issue could be who the backup holder is and how much has he practiced holding for a left-footed kicker?  I would be very hesitant to try a field goal if the holder hasn't practiced it recently.  The broadcasters made no mention of this issue.

You'll get no arguments from me. I said from the jump that Fitz was the wrong QB to bring in to begin with. You have a good D and you just need a caretaker who can get you 21points. You dont need or want a gunslinger like Fitz. I keep trying to tell these folks that they found a diamond in the rough and all they want to do is replace him. Selfishly I hope they get what they want.

Heinicke is not a franchise level starting QB. I mean, he put up 223  yards and 1 TD and 1 INT against the worst passing defense in the league, at home on MNF, and that's a reason to gloat lol?

He's a very good back-up QB, and for that fans should be happy. If he's your starter long term fans should not be happy. At all.

Ignore the troll.  He likes to follow me around to threads and stir things up.  Steady why don’t you start a Heineke thread for your boy similar to the Kirk cousins one then you can track how it works out over time.  That might actually be interesting.

I'll say it a million times ... look at Heinicke's statistics.  QBR.  Rating.  TD/Int ratio.  Heck W/L %.  Anything you want.   Stop telling us he's the next coming of Brady because he beats a terrible CAR or SEA team, both times with a lot of help from a D that is finally coming around.  He's the 20-25th ranked QB in the league.  He's playing decent and with passion.  And Scott Turner is now calling a game more suited to his abilities.  And he'll get us by on a cheap contract until we draft someone (while you pay Dak $40M).  Nobody here dislikes Heinicke.  Nobody here thinks he's trash.  He's a solid maybe get you to the playoffs guy.  But nobody other than a Dallas fan thinks he's the WAS QB beyond 1-2 more years.

How many first year quarterbacks lite the league on fire in their first year? Not many.

Dak Prescott has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation.

I am entitled to my opinion and you can disagree all you like.

I think I saw on Twitter last night that Way said Kyle Allen was practicing some holds on the sideline and asked Way, "You kick with your left, right?" So, yeah, what seems like it should be a pretty simple thing could have gone horribly wrong.

Woah, thanks for the update.  This was a potentially much bigger injury than kicker IMO.  We just need to sign a guy who can at least make 30-45 yard FGs.  If we have to go for it or punt in 50-55 yard range, so be it.  Most importantly, they need to be able to kick the ball over the center's head (looking at you Chris B.).

But losing McKissic would change the whole complexion of our offense.  He has such a diverse skill set and is such a great playmaker.

I'd feel better if I saw an injury report from someone other than McKissic's agent,

And I think Wes Schweitzer should be the starting center next year. He's better there than Roullier and Larsen. No report on how bad his ankle injury is, though.

Yea the way we have been using both has been very nice.  I hope to see more of it.

What a hypocrite. He didn’t seem to have such a problem with the team when he was publicly begging to be brought in once Fitz went down.

RG3 has been about himself and only himself since day 1. To this day this dude still plays the victim about his time in the league. He’s a total clown.
Honestly I’ll forgive him for all of that if he somehow has a crazy enough story to get Danny pushed out the league or sell the team  🤷🏽‍♂️

I agree, but sadly, I’m sure he doesn’t have the goods. If he did he would have spilled the beans already, as there is one thing this guy loves more than anything in the world... attention.

I’m sure this book will be just more self serving drivel about how he was held back and prevented by the organization from his rightful accession to All-Pro QB, through no fault of his own of course. This is a pure cash grab opportunity on the fact that this franchise is a dumpster fire. And hey, more power to him for trying to make a buck off that idiot Snyder, but this book is bound to be as much of a joke as he is.

I've been over any feelings about Griffin for a long time now. I understand he's become a pretty fair college football announcer?

And that blurb means nothing in my opinion, except "Here's a sensational claim to get people to buy my new book" which almost every  celebrity says when they have a book coming out.
Twitter was roasting him a few weeks ago about his terrible announcing.  I haven’t seen a game though.   Maybe this is a diversion 🤷🏽‍♂️.

either way I’m all about more drama falling on Snyder.  I’ll take what i can get.

Yeah, apparently he's going to blame Washington for "medical mismanagement" that lead to his injuries?

I seem to remember:

1.  He refused to slide (or didn't know how to) and refused to protect himself on the field.

2.  He was "all in" to go back into games injured and in fact may have been the driving force to do so.

Now, he's gonna re-write history and play the victim.  And since people love to pile on Washington, they'll eat it up.

The problem is, just because Washington has a terrible owner and has had a dynsfunctional organization under this owner's leadership, it does not automatically mean that EVERYTHING is their fault.

Small minds.  But we saw what RGIII was like when he was here.  Great player.  Great skill.  But VERY stubborn and didn't protect himself.  We saw it real time.

Say what you want but Griffin's doing a hell of a good job promoting a book that isn't even written yet, and supposedly will be released in August 2022.

It may end up being the most bland book ever written but he sure has people talking about it.

Griffin's career was basically ruined by the injury.  When anyone looks at it, most likely there will be plenty of blame and mismanagement to go around to make everyone look bad.  So Snyder, Allen, Mike Shanahan, and Griffin will all look bad.  Kyle Shanahan has mostly escaped any scrutiny in all this.

i havent been to a game since that wild card game where he got injured.  Im still scarred.  sigh.  I blame myself because anytime i get a QB Jersey things go poorly.  Now i only wear my Doug Williams throwback.  Pray for him.

I don't agree with medical mismanagement, but everyone watching that playoff game could see that the field was completely torn up and in terrible shape, if he has any case at all for negligence it's due to the conditions he was forced to play under (while already slightly injured).

Considering how those gutless toads Snyder and Allen trotted Doug out to face the press on tough issues on a regular basis instead of doing it themselves, I think Doug has already suffered quite a bit.

FedEx's poor field conditions have injured a lot of players.  As I said, there is plenty of blame to go around.  Medical mismanagement may be hard to prove.  Frequently, players will lie to the medical staff to get cleared to play.

Trent Williams might disagree.

Yeah that field was a nightmare...but bottom line he never should have been sent back in the Seattle game.  I don't know if we'll ever know for sure who made the call or what happened.  Was it Snyder and RG3 forcing it on Shannahan?  Was it Shanny SR?  I do know if his book fingers Shanny, then Shanny SR and JR do not have to remain silent on the matter.  My gut tells me he wanted to go back in and pushed it and coach had to acquiesse due to Snyder's power.  But  I got no proof of that...

Keith Ismael is the 4th string center who had to go in the game when Schweitzer got injured.

Pete Hailey . @PeteHaileyNBCS . 10h

Keith Ismael told us a cool story — Monday was the first game his dad could come to since Keith joined the NFL (thanks to COVID) and it just so happened to be a night where Keith had to play serious snaps due to Wes Schweitzer's injury. Could tell that meant a lot to him
I really didn't notice any major screwups by Ismael, though he wasn't as good at blocking as Schweitzer was.

The Griffins are doing a good job hyping a book that hasn't been written yet and won't be released until August 2022. This is from his wife:

Grete Griffin . @GGriffinIII

Let’s clear up a misconception about “Surviving Washington”. In the book, Robert is not talking about other peoples experiences with sexual harassment in Washington. He is talking about his OWN experience with sexual harassment in Washington.

They have a point.  He has been silent all this time, up until the time he can make some money off of it. It's not a good look.

I feel like RG3 is getting some bad advice from someone.  If he has skill as a commentator, he should try to grow that skill and make a career out of it.  I'm not sure how this book really helps him long term...though it'll make him a little cash short term...
