***OFFICIAL*** Washington Redskins 2011 Off-Season Thread (2 Viewers)

I hope they select a few players at some point.
Yeah, I hear you. I like the basic philosophy of trading down, but it is predicated on getting guys later who can contribute. Picks for picks sake are not good enough. Still, I gotta think that they have a plan in place. Otherwise, they would have pulled the trigger on some guys already.

I like what the front office is doing. We will have a pick in every round in the draft for the first time in a zillion years. Plus we have enough picks in the fifth and seventh to uncover a diamond in the rough maybe. Love this draft so far.

I love what they're doing here. I wish they had more picks in the 3rd and 4th instead of 5th-7th, but compared to how they started off this is great. And I think the 2 guys they've picked can play right now and improve the team. They still need a NT but they'll probably pick all the big fat guys left in the 5th-7th rounds.

The more they trade down and the more picks they pick up, the more I hope they take a chance on Mallet.
Agreed. Of course, we just moved behind a couple of QB-needy teams in the 3rd, so its probably not happening. But if he's still there when we pick again, you almost have to take that chance.
They should be able to trade back up ahead of those teams if they really want him.

I would like Steve Schilling at 79 Also Sherrod is still there.

Watch for Hankerson Wr from Miami Doss from Indiana

Demarco Murray Rb Oklahoma

Kenrick Ellis Hampton

And Ricky Stanzi

Definitely. But if they really wanted him, they wouldn't have made the last 2-3 trades. Shanahan doesn't play around when he really likes a guy.

Adam Schefter

Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington didn't take a CB in first two rounds. We now have three contenders for free-agent-to-be CB Nnamdi Asomugha.

Adam Schefter

Redskins have 11 picks left, including 4 in 5th and 4 in 7th. Could be first time since 1995 that the Redskins have picked in each round

Related question: Is Carlos Rodgers definitely gone? If they have so many needs, can't they retain him and keep focusing on the defensive front?

Rogers is most definitely gone. No chance he's back, unless there's a really cheap RFA tag...not sure if he's eligible for that.

yeah, I'm concerned they're sacrificing quality for quantity. they've passed up some good ones.I say no to Mallett, but would burn one of their dozen 5th's on Stanzi. He's got a lot of experience in a big-time conference. The more I learn about Kerrigan, the better I like him. I heard his HC talk about him, then heard him interviewed and he seems like a can't-miss guy. Maybe a Patrick Kearney-type. I really haven't heard a troubling thing about him.Watched a little tape on Jenkins. Seems like a solid rotation lineman who can play inside on a 4-man line or end in a 3. blocks a lot of kicks, too.

Schilling is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down on the nfl.com grades at a 2.6 and there are still some 7s available. What do you like about him?

Congratulations, one of your SEVEN guesses was taken. Here's a cookie.
When the Skins are 16 spots out you can predict yours
And afterwards, I'll self-quote as though I've really done something impressive. For the record, I think they take a QB next. Or RB. Or O-Line....or D-Line. Or a DB.

:lmao: You ok? Having a rough evening or something?

Shanny and Allen killing it so far!!!!!!!!!
As usual Patriots will get all the national media attention, but what the Skins have done is nothing short of amazing, ESPECIALLY when you look at what has happened here the last 10 years.
Freakin Pats:@AdamSchefter: OAK traded its 2012 2nd-rd pick to NE for Pats 3rd and 4th this year. New England now has double 1s and 2s in 2012. Again. You guys keep thinking you're NE with those 7th round picks...lol...
