NOOOOOOKOYE PLEASE
Teki Barber just came out of retirement. Two games against the Skins means 400+ yards gained.
NFC running backs are ecstatic!
Another year of two games against the Redksin aging, weak DL!!
he should look good on the highlight reels. chasing the opposing receiver into the end zone after a QB with all the time in the world picks the secondary apart
Now if we can add 6 inches and 100 pounds to him then we fill a need
At least our secondary is going make lots of tackles!
The trade for Briggs would have gotten them Briggs of course, plus Chicago's late first rounder. I'm not so sure you're right because they could have added two guys to their defensive front seven, rather than one guy to their defensive back four.maybe not the biggest need, but better than trading for Briggs. I'm content.
Broughton will get cut.I wonder what Broughton will get so Landry can get number 30?
If you're asking whether that was our primary motive, I'd say no. However, it's not impossible that a trade happens though given how good Landry is, but that's still very doubtful.I know we're on pick 9, but is there any way we drafted Landry to trade him? This pick does not make sense to me...
Let's hope we can deal Springs or someone and move into the 3rd to get a DL. Just hope they don't trade their first round pick next year. What can we get for Springs?
Im OK with Landry. The Skins needed a safety and got one. Now they need to wheel and deal to get another pick today. Now that Quinn didnt go to Miami, are you guys a little at ease with the Landry pick now?
It would be more accurate to say that I'm a little more at peace with the fact that we could not have traded down and gotten any kind of reasonable deal now that we know that Miami rated Quinn so low. As for Landry, I'm confident we got a talented, valuable player but I'm very uneasy that we didn't address our biggest, most glaring need. Now that Quinn didnt go to Miami, are you guys a little at ease with the Landry pick now?

No. NFL AXIOM: the game is won or lost in the trenches.and we ain't got noneNow that Quinn didnt go to Miami, are you guys a little at ease with the Landry pick now?
I agree. Quinn slipping shows why we didn't make a trade. For once, people should give the FO some credit. They stood firm, and took the highest rated defensive player in the draft. And yes, he is a position of need. Maybe not as high as DE, but they were smart to take him. I'm happy.
So am IHmmm...I saw that Branch was out of shape at his pro day. Not a good thing on the biggest day of your football life. He could be a force or he could be a slug. Do you guys think that our current crop of DT can produce? Has anyone heard of DE Ikaika Alama-Francis? Very raw DE slotted to go late 2nd to early 3rd. He is a project but they might be able to get and not give up much.As crazy as this sounds, if Alan Branch keeps falling I'm wondering whether the 'Skins will package Shawn Springs and next year's #1 to jump back into the first day of this draft and nab him.
But you have to consider that this is the first year I can remember for a while that we didn't draft on need. At least we went ahead and picked the BPA took someone who can be a stud.I would have much rather got a DL but hey they always say that the good teams draft the BPA regardless of need, right? right? It would be more accurate to say that I'm a little more at peace with the fact that we could not have traded down and gotten any kind of reasonable deal now that we know that Miami rated Quinn so low. or maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into it.....Taylor wasn't a need pick either. Anyway, I can live with the pick I guess, but I'm not happy about the (continuing) state of the D-line.But you have to consider that this is the first year I can remember for a while that we didn't draft on need. I'm less than happy with the D-line as well.....but the day is not over yet, maybe we sneak back up or find a nice gem tomorrow.Taylor wasn't a need pick either. I'll give them credit for that, yes. I'll also give them credit for continuing to try to make up for their past mistakes. They drafted Landry to make up for their huge mistake on Archuleta, which followed their mistake of letting Ryan Clark go. They signed London Fletcher to make up for their mistake in letting Antonio Pierce go. They dig holes, they fill them in.i think we need to at least give the Front Office a bit of credit this year. They were not so commited to trading down that they took crap for their pick. They actually behaved like a real live NFL front office this year.
First, the good news: the Redskins will have the best safety tandem on the planet. Unfortunately, Washington didn't address their pass rush and they don't pick again until tomorrow afternoon. Given that the defensive-line depth in this draft is pretty weak, there's, oh, about a zero-percent chance the Redskins address that need this weekend.
Safety, on the other hand, is pretty deep. But instead of taking an d-linemen, the Vinny Cerrato All Stars took the top-rated safety. I shouldn't be surprised ... but I am. LaRon Landry is a monster, and he and Sean Taylor will probably be great together ... but what about the pass rush?
I guess head coach-defense Gregg Williams has faith that the pass coverage will improve a million percent and the pass rush will take care of itself. That's a lot of faith. Also, one of the concerns with Landry is that isn't an on-field-coach type of player. Don't misunderstand, he's a smart dude, great talent, and one of the best players in the draft, but Taylor excels when he can just run fast and hit people. If he has to think about what he's doing, you get the 2006 season. Former 'Skins safety Ryan Clark was Taylor's on-field eyes and ears in 2004 and 2005. It's not clear Landry can fill that void. If he can, though, then that's one less thing the Redskins have to worry about.
I like the line in the second vid..."That's just evil"fatness said:

I can almost gaurantee that Landry was MUCH higher than Okoye. If it was close they would have gotten him. Bottom line the Washington Redskins drafted the highest rated defensive player in the draft. A no brainer.I think they chose the wrong player. They had Okoye and Landry rated as the only 2 defensive players worth taking at the #6 pick, with Landry slightly higher than Okoye. If both were OK at the #6 pick, they should have taken Okoye. Taking Landy because he was "BPA by a little bit" was the wrong move.As least they didn't make some ####### trade, though.
Sure I can. I did in high school. Played defensive tackle. 6'5" 310 here. Hey I even won the Punt Pass & Kick for the Northern VA area back in 75' and Joe Theisman was giving the awards away at the banquet.Fatness you and I should go out for the team. I would make a good 40 year old rookie. We still need help on the D-line. You can play defensive tackle, can't you Yamato?![]()
