Official Week 5 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

I believe the problem with that is that most don’t want the same thread every week for the reasons already posted and I doubt FBGs staff wants to pin an injury thread every week.
I am not sure what you mean on the first part (green). We all want a consolidated injury thread, right?

And for the other (blue), and I honestly don't know the answer to this: How many work hours does it take to pin and unpin a thread every week?

FBG used to pin a different injury thread every single week. For years. Don't know why it's such a manual uplift now. Subscribers obviously want it. Just not listening or don't care. Edited: I see Joe is in the thread now so it will at least get consideration

No we don’t want an injury thread that contains injuries from previous weeks. We want a fresh injury thread each week.

Agreed, which leads to the my second point above, in blue, how many work hours does it require to pin/unpin a thread every week?

Pin Thursday
Unpin Tuesday

Conner a little shaken up. It didn’t look serious. Look like he either got the wind knocked out of him, or hurt his chest or stomach.

We had this discussion last year and I thought most wanted a new thread each week, not to keep the same thread going every week. People didn’t want to have to wade through all the previous weeks injuries, or go to last page and wade backwards.

Cool. I think we can do that. It's not a huge deal. Was just surprised people assumed there was some sort of nefarious "decision" or "logic".

I can start a new thread each week on Monday and pin.

I see this isn't pinned
Hah. I give up. They don’t get it or don’t care

Or maybe "We hadn't seen the request". I'm able to see a tiny percent of the threads that I'm not tagged in. I don't think I was tagged in any of these requests until today when @Chaka tagged me. And I responded quickly.

Kind of a bummer after as much as we pour into this forum, we wouldn't get the benefit of the doubt that we care.

It is not even that difficult.... Pin and unpin on Thursdays..... It isnt a bad idea to keep up with what we know about injuries that happened that week in an injury thread up until the next Thursday game.

My bad - just grew frustrated. I thought mods would see thread titles at least and this has been going on for weeks. Didn't think of tagging you - you have a business to run. Thought mods would be responsive. I know you care.

Via Rapsheet:

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny suffered a fractured tibia, sources say, and he’ll have tests tomorrow to determine associated damage to see if surgery is necessary. As of now, it’s likely. Heart-breaking.

Thanks. All good

I think the frustration was because this was discussed last year and you had a poll about it and it overwhelmingly showed the want for a new pinned thread each week. Hope my link works.

Yes. I had folks ask about it last year and took the time to do a poll and create the thread last year. But tons of things don't carry over year after year. I failed to start it back this year and instead of anyone tagging me, people just assumed the worst. I can start it again. And please in the future, I'd hope people would give us the benefit of the doubt and tag me if they see something that doesn't look right.

Thank you for doing this and the quick response, very much appreciated. Please don't confuse frustration with criticism. No one here is criticizing you. Still the best FF site going.

Any early updates on Harris from New England and how long he might be out for? Stevenson turned up the heat but I know if Harris is healthy, it's going to be a split backfield all season unless one of them is unavailable and we might see that for the first time in Week 6.

Next up, Rashaad Penny. After a breakout '22 performance last week, couldn't finish down in New Orleans and i'm starting to read some pretty rotten news. Looks like it is going to be the Kenny Walker show there for now. I know Seattle keeps some others on the roster as well.

Any update on the New England player who went down int the very scary situation where they got a family member out of the stands? Thanks.

That was Detroit Lion Saivion Smith. I have heard whispers here in Detroit that he sustained a broken neck. Nothing confirmed though.

I didn’t get a good look at the play, but he looked like he just dropped. Untouched. So weird.

Agreed...looked like it could have been something like a heart attack when it happened.

I also can’t remember them ever getting a family member out of the stands at an nfl game.
