some rather unusual line ups this weekend may have cost them 2 games. Not sure the status of Crede but he must play or get eating alive at 3rd. Also don't understand sitting Iguchu he makes it so much better for Pods. Still plenty of signs of life though the bullpen is looking a little shaky these days. Does Ozzie ever plan on using Takatsu again? Also I don't understand why he used Hermanson in a non save situation. Everything will be fine after they spank Cleveland this weekend.

Crede has had a sore back

As much as I hate the White Sox, not quite sure what Truckasaurus III has been smokin'. I am a HUGE White Sox fan this weekend as they play the BoSox.

What I'm saying is that the White Sox have been incredibly lucky so far this year. There is statistical evidence to prove this.

Are you ####### serious?Sorry, we don't have the highest average or the most home runs. Obviously, that is what counts the most.

Like leading the AL in ERA? Like leading all of baseball in innings per start?

Like having the best (or second best) record in baseball in one run games?

How is that lucky? So is luck having great pitching and defense to go along with an average offense that moves runners over and gets them in via timely hitting?

We owe the A's a sweep!
Good job with that. :own3d: Remember when the Bears lucked their way into a 13-3 record a few years ago, and weren't really that good? Sound familiar?
Yeah the A's are on their way. Just like they were back in 1990 when they had the world of baseball by the nads and then were swept in the playoffs by another team of "lucky" players....

Yeah the WS are lucky. You know the other teams that lead in their division are good but the Sox are "lucky". I think you are watching too much ESPN there shooter... :fishing:

They do not rank first in the league in run differential. They do rank first in the league in wins. Some teams have been lucky so far this year (to varying degrees), some haven't. See link.

When was the last time the White Sox were even in a World Series?I provided a link, dude. It's a simple mathematical question.

I did. What exactly is it supposed to tell me? That teams should make the playoffs according to their stats insteads of Ws and Ls?I don't get it.

Okay....answer this. What exactly do the Sox need to so over the next two months to prove that they are a really good team instead of just lucky???

not trying to blaspheme here but....couldn't the inordinate number of games decided by 1 run be a sign of something? sure, they are 23-9 in those situations but doesn't it say something nonetheless? while they are tearing it up, those kind of victories also could point to the WS catching a break somehow?

i'm trying to say anything

Where is the Truck? I have a math equation for you truck:luck = opportunity + preparationThe best stat that I can focus in on is the fact that we lead the div by 12 games. My hat goes off to the A's for whipping us down but we have in turn whipped on a lot of teams as well. Focus on the div first and then the playoffs next. It is a long season- injuries, the weather, hotter teams, trades and other things can rock the boat. The WS have not seen the WS in a long time but this is 2005 and I am enjoying the show. It is hard to get down on a team that plays well and takes what the other team gives them. That is the nature of winning in any sport. It is hard to hate a team that just plays good solid ball...

Could be but could it also be that they are shutting the door on teams with their pitching and defense in close games? It could also be that the WS starters (at least MB, JG and FG) are controlling the tempo of these games? MB is definitely a pitcher that controls the tempo of a game. Isn't this part of fundamental baseball? Winning with solid pitching and defense? I remember when the WS had all the world beater teams and then when the playoffs came along they were shut down by pitching and defense...

Truck is right guys... the only thing that matters in baseball is the mathematical equations on the sheet he provided. Records mean NOTHING at all.

The White Sox are lucky and are not very good, I agree Truck.

Here we go- getting lucky again last night. Small ball leaves and the Sox just homer the Tigers into submission. Starting to stockpile the late inning rallies for the season...

Interesting series as the MLB-Best record White Sox meet the AL East Leader, Defending Champion Red Sox4 game series, looks like a split to me, but if the Red Sox win tonight they could take 3

I think we can take it to the White Sox, but I am sure every other team has been saying that to themselves when they step on the field with the White Sox.Keys to the game, keep Pos off the basepaths and shut down the Big Hurt. The White Sox offense is limited, and if we can take advantage of this weakness, we should be in good shape.

We beat the White Sox today, but after seeing the ERA lines for the White Sox relievers, I am starting to realize just how good this White Sox team is.Just trade for AJB and take Lowell. Bench Crede and you get a potential front of the line pitcher. An upgrade at two positions. If Kenny Williams pulls it off without moving any starters, then the White Sox would clearly be the best team in baseball.

No thanks, the O's can have AJ Burnett...I don't understand the fascination with this guy.

After optioning Shingo, if Hermanson's back isn't OK, the Sox may have screwed up big time.I've been gone for a week, is Marte still pitching lights out? I'm too lazy to research.I feel the Twinkies, Tigers and Tribe will systematically knock each other out of the division race. That CCC Sabathia guy sucks this year. It's 'CCC' now, as that's the roman numeral for 300 as in 300 pounds.
