My apologies for the skips. It's certainly not my style. I have a very pressing RL issue that has consumed most of my waking moments. Continue to skip me and I'll make them up tonight. Thanks and again, my apologies.

Oliva's great and all, but he's no Possum Whitted

How would the worst Hall of Fame team do in this league??And yes, I know Maranville would be the starting SS....
i believe i have a list somewhere. see if i can dig it up tonight.
Assuming you would use each guys best season, it would be interesting. The MI would be really weak hitting with something like Ozzie Smith/Mazeroski. 3B would also be fairly weak with B Robinson or Lindstrom. SP would also only be OK, but the RP would be steller. I'm also guessing you could put up a fairly weak hitting OF with Brock, Winfield, etc.

While looking at a list of the worst Hall of Famers, I was surprised to see:

15 . 17 : Eephus----------- : Bobby Wallace SS

is in the Hall with a career OPS+ of 105 :topcat:

REPICK

15 . 17 : Eephus----------- : Dickie Thon SS

c Mike Grady

By the way, I'm 100% serious about having texted Delancey as a pick to SNC. Also I'm traveling the rest of the day, so if I come up just skip (although you probably planned to do that anyway)

What should we do w/ Pskov :lmao:
FWIW ... no responses to my e-mails to Pskov or Halos. If Bogart and Norwood split up, and Bogart takes Pskov's squad, but converts it into the "worst HOF" team ... how's that gonna work? A mini-draft for Pskov's current picks? Just discard Pskov's picks entirely from the draft pool?

Looking over Pskov's roster now to see if there's anyone I want :D
I am thinking we should make all of his picks void for the rest of us. Unless there is a creative way to distribute them.
I can think of a way, but it would be a pain to administer. Basically, all of Pskov's players would be placed on waivers that run in reverse order of the first round. Like waivers, no one is obligated to pick. Anyone who does pick goes to the end of the waiver line (see below). Then, there could be further waivers for people to claim the newly-cut players. This could continue for a few rounds until no one wants who is leftover.

Like I said ... a pain to administer. LOADS of cluster potential, however :excited:

not in favor. basically, this grants an extra 1st-round pick to team 24, an extra 2nd round pick to team 23, and so forth. very inequitable. i think the team should stay in tact, and get filled in later. While the bad-HOFs idea is novel, i'm not sure there are enough bad HOFs, especially across the position spectrum, to try that. Willing to change my mind on that once i analyze my list of undeserving HOFs.

:excited: I think we should continue to draft for them as we have, and hope that they return or at least give a competative team for whom ever picks them up.

Oh, I think there are. I think a team of the lowest-end HOFers would lose 110 games in this thing.

If Pskov's team gets thrown out, the easiest thing to do would be simply to take his players out of the pool.

If we want to do a dispersal draft, the owner drafting one of Pskov's players should be required to forfeit one of their own draft picks from a round equal to or earlier than where Pskov's guy was picked. For instance, if someone wants Harlond Clift, they'd have to give up a player picked in the sixth round or earlier.

I vote for the easy way if we're going to do this. This league will be just fine without Barney Pelty

FWIW, Pskov's not been on the board since Wednesday morning ... I am thinking that things are going on IRL for him.

Halos was on the board this morning ... wish he'd drop into this thread if for nothing else to shrug shoulders and say he's not sure what's up.

I think you can put a decent pitching staff together using the best years of the worst HoF members. The problem will be with offense. There seem to be a lot of hitters that were elected on the basis of long careers, rather than peak value.
