We'll finish tomorrow for sureWith this much intentional skipping ... I move that we have a remaining picks free-for-all tomorrow at some point. Late enough so that all the West Coast drafters can get settled in beforehand.
What's goin on with the league ol man? Dont see any reason for us to be twiddling thumbs here. Will it at least be this afternoon in time for Monday Night Football sim live - the testing grounds? We'll finish tomorrow for sureWith this much intentional skipping ... please remind me how sim live works. are you actually playing real games, or is just one of those free test teams you can do?who are you going to sim live against? :tumbleweeds:
Koya wants to sim exhibition games. I believe you can't sim live in-season games until after the first game of the season. But that raises a good point. Do we have enough interest in a Sim Live division (or league)? You should be willing to commit to Sim Live at least 40 games.please remind me how sim live works. are you actually playing real games, or is just one of those free test teams you can do?who are you going to sim live against? :tumbleweeds:
SIM LIVE works two ways - first, there are exhibition games. You play with the team you are drafting now, against another team in our league, or any other leagues team (and you can also play against historical teams, i.e. the 27 yankees). Stats dont count, its just for kicks. Sometimes we will do a little tourney style for braggin rights.Once the season starts, you can actually play your league games live - essentially you make all managerial decisions. linup, infield in, pinch hitters, relievers, steals, etc. You do it based upon PAs, not individual pitches.please remind me how sim live works. are you actually playing real games, or is just one of those free test teams you can do?who are you going to sim live against? :tumbleweeds:

Do you have to be online at the same time as another team to play against them? Or are you playing against the team CPU managed?SIM LIVE works two ways - first, there are exhibition games. They may give you a signficiant advantage but for a very limited amount of appearance. Some feel it's worth leveraging a few low PA/IP guys, some feel its a waste of a roster spot.do these extremly low IP or PA seasons really help a team all that much? I'm seeing guys picked with <70 PAs. That means you can pinch-hit them about every other game, right? Same deal with <30 IP seasons. How does that help you, especially if you collect a handful of such players?note that i'm assuming that WIS doesn't let you use them for much more than what they actually played.
statistical theory (ie, random variation in low sample sizes) would suggest that it's a pretty risky strategy.not to mention how objectionable i find it from a WIS-algorithm standpoint. WIS should level-set low sample sizes with a complement of either league averages or that player's rest-of-career. I suppose that removes some of the fun that some WIS users find in the product, but it would enhance the realism of the game-engine.They may give you a signficiant advantage but for a very limited amount of appearance. yeah some have played really well, low HR/AB guys usually win you a game or two with PH HR'sBob Milacki disagreesstatistical theory (ie, random variation in low sample sizes) would suggest that it's a pretty risky strategy.not to mention how objectionable i find it from a WIS-algorithm standpoint. Keep in mind that this is a no salary cap league (virtually). Because you can stock up on high-AB/high-IP quality, you really only need maybe 21 or 22 of your roster spots (assuming you're not platooning five positions, or something). Therefore, it's OK to carry and use guys that won't be available every day.do these extremly low IP or PA seasons really help a team all that much? I'm seeing guys picked with <70 PAs. I *like* to play live but I don't have much time... I will usually get around 5-10 games in live.
