Everybody is in except for Pumpnick. Some other WIS guy has entered a team w/ $200+M in salary and three pre-1893 players. I've asked him via WIS site mail to withdraw his team. I'll give him a day and then ask WIS Admin to boot him.

If anybody has Pump contact info, please nag him to enter his team as soon as bigpapi2003's team is gone. And pick a ##### stadium.
I just e-mailed Pumpnick about this. He's not posted anywhere on FBGs since Nov 24th. He did visit the forums on Monday the 7th, so it looks like he's lurking now and then, but not daily.

Perhaps RL issues are taking place ... might need to think about someone buying/running his squad.

HoL hitters as follows:C - Rick Ferrell1B - George Kelly2B - Bill Mazeroski3B - Travis JacksonSS - Rabbit MaranvilleOF - George Davis, Lou Brock, Tommy McCarthyBench - Dave Winfield - OF, Phil Rizzuto - SS, Tony Lazzeri - 2B, Joe Tinker - IFTotal spent is $69,536,0938000+ PAs, 0.310/0.379/0.447, 122 total HRs (smallball anyone?)Please evaluate this while I work on pitchers. If no one disagrees, this is what I will run out there.
i think you'd want a 2nd catcher, plus another "big stick" (OF/1B sort of guy).suggest Ray Schalk for catcher, and LLoyd Waner (though a small stick) or Earle Combs or Chick Hafey in the OF
Frank Chance is my back up catcher. Added two more bats, Ross Youngs and someone else.Plenty of subs across the field, except for C and 1B, where Chance is the backup for both. My lineup is not going to hit for power for sure, but I have some speed at the top and decent average. My pitching looks much better, even though I have some lesser years for my "relievers" should be very solid. I expect to lose a lot of 3-1 games.

cool, i didn't realize Chance played catcher. he was a big dude, wasn't he?just looked him up on B-R. 6 feet tall - i guess that might have been big for that era. He actually began his career as a catcher. Chance also led the NL in stolen bases twice.p.s. Besides Winfield (who got in on his first ballot) and Neikro, were any of your picks actually elected to the HOF by the writers? Brock maybe

responding to myself... looked this up, too. there are a few writers' picks like Pennock, but man did the VC do some damage to the HOF with many of their "homer" picks in the 40s and 60s/early 70s.

Had I thought ahead of time, I should have made all of my selections from the VC. That team would be brutal.

24 hours without response to an e-mail typically means a bow-out.

Who might step up and buy a second team? Grecospeare and I already have two.

Is there a way to transfer reward points from one ID to another? Or register a 2nd team in a league with the same ID?

I still have a free league coming from my WIS XII, so if any of the above is possible, I can help.

Basically what I'm arguing is that there are so few relative outliers and that the decline is so gradual that there's generally very little differences between players.
You know ... if Oso agreed with you, he should probably jump in. Going by what you wrote, he should still be able to draft from the gut and compete just fine ... so long as he avoids the Lou-Brock-type picks ("screw stats -- Brock really was the best OF!").
that's just it. i don't think this is true. i am thinking just the opposite. once you've skimmed off the best overall players, sim-fishing becomes all the more important.
btw, i think i was right about this. even i succumbed to the sim-fish cult. however, i AM happy to have been part of this draft and look forward to the league. thanks again for the invitation.

Alright, I'm loading Pump's team now into my draft center, then I'll join. It's the least your WIS XII champ can do. Gotta lead by example. :goodposting:

Eephus, make damn sure this is the non-SimLive team.

MrPump's Chumps are now in.

Let's light this candle.
Thanks GB.I am really looking forward to this season. Might be my favorite shtick ever.

Just for everyone's mental image: Please understand that every member of my team will be carried their Hall of Fame plaque everywhere. EVERYWHERE. They will take it up to bat, they will run the bases with them, it will sit next to them in the field. Rabbit will be setting his up deep in the hole between 2nd and 3rd to help keep some balls in the infield.

Any and all coversations with your team, regardless of topic, will start with "Don't you wish you had one of these?"

My team is a bunch of asses.

I picture them all wearing their plaques around their necks Flava Flav style

Divisions have been realigned and league submitted to WIS admin for scheduling.

Don't forget to set your managerial options

that's awesome. interesting that we'll be in the same division. i have been the most bullish owner re: the HOL team's chances, but that may just be because i'm the least experienced with WIS.

Eephus, stop the process. If Pump wants his team, he can have it.

16 teams next time. This draft ended a long time ago, this is bull####.
