***OFFICIAL WIS XIV DRAFT THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

Algie McBride, OF

Will play some center, especially against Righties - would rather have had a righty bat here as I will now have 4 lefties and 1 righty in the OF - perhaps a trade can be in the works.

Fielding R turrible, but hopefully my offense can compensate.

Pitching = the suck. Once again, hopefully my offense can compensate.

Ok, you'd think Id know but:

1. How do you get the normalized stats, or do you just use the draft center and not the results?

2. How in the heck do you do the code so they align (and do you cut and paste from WIS or from Excel?)

1. It's the AVG#, OBP#, and SLG# in Advanced Stats for each player.2. Spacing. Careful, annoying spacing.

No idea who is going to hit where. Cuyler has the best speed but is also the best hitter. OBP is not our strong suit. Maybe Koskie vL and Stenzel vR

Need about 10 min since I somehow thought Tom Brunansky was available. :own3d:
He's one of those guys I have no idea now why I drafted him when I did.
This describes at least half of my team.
I took freakin' Don Newcombe in the EIGHTH ROUND. There are STILL SPs out there with similar stats. I fell in love with Newcombe's Ks vs BBs ratio, but there will be guys picked 10 rounds later who will be as effective.

Now that I get to look at lineups, some thoughts on my team:

Going to score runs, especially against righties.

Against lefties I have a viable defense. Against righties? Nottasomuch. Probably need to have Valencia in that lineup for some balance.

That said, lots of flexibility to try to overcome the shortcomings. Weaker lineup against lefties, but I have a ton of bats on the bench (including Klein and Cuckoo). May even change my defense according to who I have pitching.

Yeah, this will be fun. :-"

My lineup is done save for about 100 PAs needed. NORMALIZED FOR YOUR PLEASURE. (redone because I picked McBride for a reason)

Lineup vs. Righties

1. OF 1898 Algie McBride......L 594 |.298 |.380 |.411 | .791 C+/A

2. .C 1934 Bill Delancey ..... L 313 |.307 | .412 | .559 | .971 C/B-/C-

3. OF 1930 George Watkins..L 447 | .350 | .398 | .589 | .987 D+/D+ (Kearns as D replacement)

4. 1B 1929 Dale Alexander...R 737 |.331 | .387 | .567 | .954 C/D+

5. OF 1928 Chuck Klein........L 294 | .349 |.387 |.570 |.957 B-/D+

6. 3B 1940 Joe Orengo.........R 526 |.286 |.385 | .415 | .800 A/D- (Valencia D Replacement)

7. 2B 1924 Hughie Critz.......R 470 | .311 |.348 |.443 | .791 D+/A+

8. SS 1961 **** Howser......R 724 | .283 | .377 | .356 | .732 C/C+

Lineup vs. Lefties

1. OF 1926 Cuck ChristensenL 405 |.339 |.421 |.436 | .857 B/D+ (Mcbride as D replacement)

2. SS 1940 Joe Orengo.........R 526 |.286 |.385 | .415 | .800 D/B+

3. OF 2002 Austin Kearns.....R 435 | .316 |.406 |.486 |.891 B-/B-

4. 1B 1929 Dale Alexander...R 737 |.331 | .387 | .567 | .954 C/D+

5. OF 1930 George Watkins..L 447 | .350 | .398 | .589 | .987 D+/D+

6. C 1930 Gus Mancuso........R 268 |.342 |.398 | .517 | .914 D+/B-

7. 3B 2010 Danny Valencia..R 322 | .312 |.352 | .435 | .787 A/B

8. 2B 1924 Hughie Critz.......R 470 | .311 |.348 |.443 | .791 D+/A+

Key Bench Guys:

2B 1987 Jose Lind...........R 157 .| 323 |.358 |.423 | .781 A+/A+ - Defensive Specialist

Don't know if I can live with the defense of my Lefty dominated lineup. May decide to have Valencia play against Righties and use Orengo as 3B against lefties. If I dont need as much power, would use Cuckoo instead of Klein against righties.

21 . 22 ( 502 ) Doug B : RP Olson, Gregg

Uber-elite everywhere except BB/9# (4.87  ). Let's see if that's usable ITF.
