Teddy Higuera, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Now I have two reasons to be sad when looking at the list of available Brewers. Not only are they awful, but I can't have any more of them...

On the road, yes, they're really going to hurt a lot. But in your park they'll be very nice.

Two things a little bit in their favor:a) Memorial Stadium is neutral for HRs, not positive.b) Memorial Stadium is -1 for singles, neutral for doubles, and -1 for triples. In short: your stadium doesn't especially exacerbate your pitcher's weaknesses.

5.6 (102): SNC - OTC to xx52

5.8 (104): the moops -

5.9 (105): pumpnick - eephus has list

Oof. I was confusing Memorial with Municipal. Those guys in a neutral HR park are going to be very, very bad.

is teddy higuera that good or do i not know what i am doing here?
Team scarcity and he had 1 really, really good season.and I probably overpaid a bit for one of the very, very, very few good Brewer seasons that exist when Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, and modern rent-a-Ace pitchers aren't available.

jfranco - thoughts on my team now?am I gonna win 50?
It's pretty hard to lose 110 games. Not sure why you took 2 lefties in Hilltop. But Higuera/Newhouser is decent for a 1-2 combo with that trio of hitters. Still too early to say.
does it really make a difference? And, honestly, I was trying to take the BPA at this point. I've never, EVER in the history of WIS had so many lefties (I have 3 LH hitters and 2 LH pitchers).I normally have like 2 lefties on my whole roster.

C - Johnny Bench 270/379/541 40 HR

1B/3B - Harmon Killebrew 276/427/584 49 HR

SS- Ernie Banks 304/374/596 45 HR

OF - Hank Aaron 323/390/618 45 HR

SP - Christy Mathewson 411 1.43/.840/.200 259K/42BB

Stadium - Tiger Stadium

Should be able to hit some homers. Early thoughts from you vets?

Catfish was the other guy on my list when I took Clemens.

5.13- 3B Heinie Zimmerman, Chicago Baby Bears

However, he is best known for an infamous rundown in the decisive game. In the fourth inning, the game was scoreless when Chicago's Eddie Collins was caught between third base and home plate. Catcher Bill Rariden ran up the line to start the rundown, expecting pitcher Rube Benton or first baseman Walter Holke to cover the plate. However, neither of them budged, and Collins blew past Rariden to score what turned out to be the Series-winning run (the White Sox won 4-2). Third baseman Zimmerman ran behind him pawing helplessly in the air with the ball. As pointed out by researcher Richard A. Smiley in SABR's 2006 edition of The National Pastime, Zimmerman was long blamed for losing the game, although McGraw blamed Benton and Holke for failing to cover the plate—a serious fundamental error in baseball. The play was actually quite close, as action photos show Zimmerman leaping over the sliding Collins. A quote often attributed to Zim, but actually invented by writer Ring Lardner some years later, was that when asked about the incident Zim replied, "Who the hell was I supposed to throw to, Klem (umpire Bill Klem, who was working the plate)?"

P Catfish Hunter/Athletics
Was strongly considering him when I went Horlen, but the HR numbers (well, normalized) scared me off a bit. Then again, one run homers aren't the end of the world.Unless it's bottom of the ninth in a tie game that is.
Seemed like good value here. I had a hitter typed in and then I thought I'd better grab some quality innings now before it got back to me and there was little left.
