Was looking at Berry myself, but damn the A's are deep an only a few left to pick them. Will be some talent left on the table for sure.

12.18 - Roger Maris, OF, Yankees

Maybe I'm a little early taking my 4th OF here, but I couldn't chance not getting this guy at this point. Don't know how he'll play in the SIM, but his 61 season was epic.

It will be interesting to see how good a team can be constructed just from players left over.Better than Greco? :coffee:Hello from Palm Springs btw.

Just a reminder that someone had to have his arm twisted because he was much too busy for this. Welcome back, :stonedbanana:!

I could see a team employ some tandem starters in this format. There are a number of guys with 100-150 innings and like 20 starts that would hold up well for half a season. When the draft started I wanted to lock in 4 guys who would start the majority of my games on the season in a 4 man rotation. Havent looked at the other teams, but I see a number of opportunities to draft guys in the 4 and 5 spot in tandems that could be very successful.

For you new guys, this is called a smokescreen :banned:

Actually, its not. As you all know, I always draft a pitching heavy team early and fill in hitting later. I was just curious what others thought about the draft so far. I liked when jfranco was sharing his thoughts and was trying to get a conversation started about what others observations were about the draft so far.As someone said earlier, I was surprised at how some of the older franchises were not as deep as I thought they would be.

I may be interested in moving up in the next round, basically flip positions where I move up next, down the round after, if anyone has reached a Larry Plateau. Not a huge deal but if it's simple and works, I'd be down.

I think the classic team whose shallowness surprised me the most was the Red Sox...By cutting it off where we did we missed a lot of Pedro, Papi and even Pedroia seasons...The Red Sox had a pretty bare cupboard for much of the 60s and 70sAlso, 150 posts? Good God man!

DEDICATION - The path to 300.And while I liked Berry a lot, feel good to be done with the red sox. No wonder they didn't win one for decades.

Definitely notice the lack of depth with the Sawks. Especially troubling since I haven't drafted one yet.

Man, I dunno, the Red Sox seem to me like the 3rd or 4th best franchise here. Tons of interesting pitchers, some nice infielders (Boggs, Doerr, xxxx, xxxx), outfielders (Teddy, Lynn, Yaz)... I hated burning them early. I would guess that the "elite" franchises are roughly:Yankees/A's/Cubs------WhiteSox/RedSox-----Pirates/CardsThe other original 16 teams I'm not sure about (maybe the Reds belong with the Pirates, or the Indians or the Phillies, but none of them are as deep). The Braves, Sens and Orioles seem like a step below them. Not sure where to put the Tigers, Giants, or Dodgers. The Mets' problem is that they don't even have any good relievers. They're just a wasteland of a franchise. Even if you expanded it to 2012, you'd get Reyes/Wright but that's about it.
