Everyone checked out for the day when they figured you were on vacation in the Caribbean on this global holiday weekend.Well ... I'm glad to see that my absence wasn't exactly holding back a flood of picks here.

Former spring training home of the California Angels! It will be interesting to see how good a team can be constructed just from players left over.Better than Greco?Hello from Palm Springs btw.

I would play all 162 live in about 8 days, given the chance. Last one was the worst so far. No one in my league was playing live.alot of anxious people, then we'll have maybe 3 people play 5 games live.

Just a reminder that someone had to have his arm twisted because he was much too busy for this. Welcome back, :stonedbanana:!

I does my best, 151 like the rum.For you new guys, this is called a smokescreenI could see a team employ some tandem starters in this format. There are a number of guys with 100-150 innings and like 20 starts that would hold up well for half a season. When the draft started I wanted to lock in 4 guys who would start the majority of my games on the season in a 4 man rotation. Havent looked at the other teams, but I see a number of opportunities to draft guys in the 4 and 5 spot in tandems that could be very successful.

Actually, its not. As you all know, I always draft a pitching heavy team early and fill in hitting later. I was just curious what others thought about the draft so far. I liked when jfranco was sharing his thoughts and was trying to get a conversation started about what others observations were about the draft so far.As someone said earlier, I was surprised at how some of the older franchises were not as deep as I thought they would be.For you new guys, this is called a smokescreenI could see a team employ some tandem starters in this format. DEDICATION - The path to 300.And while I liked Berry a lot, feel good to be done with the red sox. No wonder they didn't win one for decades.I think the classic team whose shallowness surprised me the most was the Red Sox...By cutting it off where we did we missed a lot of Pedro, Papi and even Pedroia seasons...The Red Sox had a pretty bare cupboard for much of the 60s and 70sAlso, 150 posts? Good God man!
Yes, that guy.At the moment I am actually planning on taking his 302 PA year where he hit 341/438/640, but I may change that to his less good full year if need be.Available.ETA: Guessing you meant Gavvy Cravath, though.I'm naked in the gym locker room

Definitely notice the lack of depth with the Sawks. Especially troubling since I haven't drafted one yet.DEDICATION - The path to 300.And while I liked Berry a lot, feel good to be done with the red sox. He's a ranger Sen for those keeping track.Carry onFrank Howard, Sens

Eff. Was my ace in the hole at 1B.Frank Howard, Sens
Yeah, Mets pretty barrenBiggest surprise for me was how turrible the Mets are, not a young franchise either.![]()
Thats why I took HoJo kind of early. He wont have a great obp, but he will be a 30/30 guy maybe 40/40, with zero errors at ss. He will have 40 minus plays tho.Biggest surprise for me was how turrible the Mets are, not a young franchise either.![]()
)Yep. Same thing here with Seaver. That franchise is awful. Only 3 selected so far. Same as the ####### PadresThats why I took HoJo kind of early. You're a good man, Pampernickle.list sent to kraft
Man, I dunno, the Red Sox seem to me like the 3rd or 4th best franchise here. Tons of interesting pitchers, some nice infielders (Boggs, Doerr, xxxx, xxxx), outfielders (Teddy, Lynn, Yaz)... I hated burning them early. I would guess that the "elite" franchises are roughly:Yankees/A's/Cubs------WhiteSox/RedSox-----Pirates/CardsThe other original 16 teams I'm not sure about (maybe the Reds belong with the Pirates, or the Indians or the Phillies, but none of them are as deep). The Braves, Sens and Orioles seem like a step below them. Not sure where to put the Tigers, Giants, or Dodgers. The Mets' problem is that they don't even have any good relievers. They're just a wasteland of a franchise. Even if you expanded it to 2012, you'd get Reyes/Wright but that's about it.'Tremendous Upside said:I think the classic team whose shallowness surprised me the most was the Red Sox...By cutting it off where we did we missed a lot of Pedro, Papi and even Pedroia seasons...The Red Sox had a pretty bare cupboard for much of the 60s and 70sAlso, 150 posts?
