While looking like a better pick now that Robben is out, in all efforts of fairness Elia is a striker just like the rest of the Dutch wingers.

That's funny I didn't catch that at the time, but I had Elia down as a ST and have had jmon with 4 STs (and can take no more) for some time now.Good catch.

Unless Monday is another national holiday, no reason we shouldn't start then.Also, seems like we're making good enough time that we should be finished by the start of the WC. But do we want to tighten the clock in the last few rounds? Say 30 minutes for rounds 15-18?

We did 9+ rounds in four weekdays. We have four weekdays to do 8 rounds plus the supplemental round. I think we should aim to finish the 18th round by Wednesday night so that Thursday can be calm day for the replacement picks and everything is nice and neat by Thursday night. At our pace by the end of the week, that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe a 30 minutes clock for Wednesday only if we have more then 2 rounds to finish.

I have not been checking the players; I have been taking everyone's word for it that they have been recording the players at the appropriate positions. Nice catch, thanks.
 
Can't believe how bad this stalled yesterday. It would be great to finish round 12 today.

I was looking at Loderio and Melo. Amazing how many pretty good players are left and how close most of our cheat sheets seems to be.

 
4 picks today. Nobody better be rushing to skip me tomorrow morning. When it isn't the crack of dawn out West I have picked in minutes.

if they were involved in the draft, and there was a 2-hour time limit, it would have helped speed things up. and if you knew you weren't going to be around, you could have easily submitted a list of 25 names or so, enough to get through 2 rounds, so that it wouldn't have hit this wall.

It happens in every FBG draft I have participated in. A lot of people draft at work and "live their lives" away from the board at night and the weekends. It should never really be expected to be any different.

Really?We're not talking about a timstochet great works draft here. This draft needs to be done by Friday. And its once every four years for crying out loud.
 
Well, maybe we should have had a clock. I know people tend to not check in on weekends (see this thread for proof), but it's fine.

We're still making good time.

1 hour clock continues tomorrow. If we struggle during the day, I may cut it down to 30 minutes starting Tuesday.
