Official World Cup 2010 Fantasy League (1 Viewer)

Potentially back in the mix. I had at least 3 starts, goal from Robben and a CS from Bastos/goalie.

I didn't go all Bonzai/TLEF on you guys, but still a good day.

What the hell happened to Van Der Vaart? Was that just an awful pick that early or is there something I don't know about?

Best case I'll have 6 players on my rooster after the quarters; worst case: 1

But I'm down 36 which is probably too much to make up.

Tasker worrying about losing second and 2 goals and 2 assists later, now is a good position to possibly steal first.

I don't have them in the sheet in an easy way to see the top scorers but here is what I have...

Sneijder, Netherlands, 39

Muller, Germany, 37

Villa, Spain, 36

Neuer, Germany, 35

Villar, Uruguay, 34

Casillas, Spain, 34

Muslera, Uruguay, 32

And all still playing aside from Villar...

Well, I had a good run....

Just a thought for 2014...I am not I liked starts and subs counting. It decreases the value of goals, assists, and really any ACTUAL stat accumulation.

I mean just for showing up and making it through warmups you get 2 pts. Or you can bust your ### and get an assist and you get 3.

Speaking of someone who couldn't predict starters worth a damn, I think you leave it in. I had a number of players that I drafted not get starts.

I guess I have never played in any fantasy league before where you get points for starting, so it is weird to me. I don't understand the reasoning for having it here.

Just my opinion imo

I think we should start discussing what do to in future soccer tourney leagues. Euro 2012 and Brazil 2014 would be great to do again.

BTW, one of my players scored yesterday. Only the second goal on my squad for the whole tourney. It was Gio Van Bronkhorst, a fullback playing in his second to last game of his career, and a very unlikely candidate to score.

To think that he scored more goals than Rooney, Vela, and Suazo combined... :lmao:

I am going to double check all of the assists as they sometimes tend to change. So this may change a little.

congrats to tasker. Looks like he's all but locked it up.

I think we'd need The Netherlands to shut out Spain, have Sneijder pick up a card and score no points and have one of our 2 defenders score a goal or grab a couple of assists (while avoiding cards) to have any sort of shot.

Forlan and Sneijder just shut the door for Tasker. Unreal finish for his team. You have 2nd sewn up barring a Villa hat trick.Kucpho is down 8 to catch me for 3rd and I have Van Der Wiel, Van Bommel, and Van Persie while Kupcho has Puyol, Van Der Vaart, and Van Persie

Yeah, we'd need all our guys to start, avoid cards, get a shutout, and have at least one guy get an assist. Possible, but improbable. Had a great time with this though, thanks for running it guys. Can't wait for the game tomorrow.

:goodposting:

Will tally the final scores later today or tomorrow, but I don't believe that the top 3 changed.

Congrats to TLEF/Bonzai/Boub.

Thanks to everyone for playing. It was a good turnout, so I'll probably want to run a new incarnation for Euro 2012. We will need to tweak the rosters and possibly the scoring (although I didn't mind our scoring really). There were bound to be some hiccups as this is the first time any of us has tried this, but I think it went pretty well.

Also, major thanks to Derek for helping with the rules/scoring and holding the money and Boub for keeping up with the scoring when I got a bit behind due to a hectic schedule around the end of June.

Congrats, Tasker. You are much better at this than fatasy football.

I was really hoping to repeat after winning the Euro league 2 years ago. I'll be back....

congrats to tasker and thanks to all the guys who helped run it.

Big thank you to Bonzai who handled like 80% of our draft and put together a great team.

Definitely in for Euro 12 if we do it again.

Hey, I won the first year of the league and finished 3rd the next year. There's only been what....5 seasons? I will be keeping my team logo of Cannavaro hoisting the 2006 trophy/dejected Zidane walking off the field after being red carded, btw.

All the money should be paid out....

Tried to just figure out emails based on payments I got...100% sure on Tasker's, but I took an educated guess on TLEF and BONZAI...better check your paypals...

Any interest in doing something for Copa America?

And further down the line maybe someting with EPL/La Liga/Serie A or something similar?

Some people usually run an EPL salary cap league...everyone picks some players, as long as they fall under the cap it works.

As for something customizable like this? Good luck finding someone to run it....this thing was a ####### ##### and is a lot more work than it appears. I'll do it again next World Cup, and maybe the Euros next year...but no thanks on the Copa America.

I know Tasker mentioned something about doing this again. Wanted to bump this thread, so we can get interest in doing it for this years cup.

This was so much fun and made it so much more fun for me.

PLEASE, LET'S DO IT AGAIN.
