Last question on the subject - any reason we cant add him back to the pool as a waiver free agent after the group stages? The playing field will have been levelled by then...seemed like a reasonable compromise and a fair suggestion.

For a team expected to make the knock-out stage, they are surprisingly underrepresented. I suppose there is still some underlying hope that the US gets the 2nd spot, lowering expectations in this draft for Portuguese players. But, I think its a good pick.
