Is KC the second best team in the division?
:coffee:
in 2013, maybe. They don't have the starting pitching right now.
It's a problem across the board in the division, isn't it? Tigers are easily the best rotation in there, but the WS starting 5 are better than anyone else's.
I'd rather have the Tigers rotation come playoff time, but the White Sox rotation during the season.

Leyland begging the Sux to sweep them today. DH'ing Inge, Laird over Avila and Raburn in RF. Oof, what a lineup.
2 of those are easy to explain. Lefty on the mound, which is a plus for Raburn, and Avila needs a day off. Inge? I got nothing. Eff you, Leyland.

Agree. How do you DH a guy that has not hit in 6 years?

Inge at DH?? For the love of God...WHY? How many AL teams bat their DH 8th..then pinch hit for their DH?

say what you want about Inge but leave Laird alone!!!!!!!!
The only game he'll be decent all year. .230 hitter tops. It was still a stupid lineup. Even with the dislike for Inge you can at least excuse him for a defensive replacement not as a ####### DH.

Heard Leyland on the radio explaining the lineup..said he wanted to give BB the day off so he started Rayburn in right. The he put BB in anyway. Who knows? Think he wants to keep Inge from pouting too much.

Same reason he puts Young in left and Dirks DH when most would do the opposite, babies his players instead of putting out the strongest lineup.

On a positive note Miggy looks as quick as a cat..I mean bengal tiger at third..he has made some dam nice plays so far.

Biggest story from yesterday and for the year so far is Porcello. He's not just getting great results, he's looking great doing it. He looked as confident as I'm seen in look and it seemed to grow each inning.

The one player on the roster who could benefit the Tigers the most by having a break-through year is Porcello, even more than Jackson IMO.

Years ago before I was married, I had a possum make it's way into my garage. It refused to leave and hissed at me so I took action. I pounded the thing over the head multiple times with a shovel. It kept moving and wouldn't leave. I pounded it over the head even more with the shovel. It was still moving, but slower...and wouldn't leave. I pounded it again and again and again over the head with that shovel and finally it stopped moving. I picked it up with the shovel and walked it across the street where there was a large park. I dumped the thing in a wooded area and went home. The next morning I went to check it out and the damn thing was gone. The MF'er just refused to die.

--INF Brandon Inge, one day off the disabled list, made his first start of the season Sunday as Detroit's designated hitter. He went 0-for-2 before being pinch-hit for by RF Brennan Boesch, whose absence from the starting lineup was a reason for Inge DHing. "If I was playing Boesch, it would be different," manager Jim Leyland explained. "I can't DH Santiago, because I wouldn't have a shortstop in case something happened to (SS Jhonny) Peralta. I had to leave Raburn active (so) I can move Raburn to second. That's why that was done. It's not that (Inge) is not going to play second base, just the way I played the lineup, to give Boesch the day off against a pretty nasty lefty, I wanted to keep my options with Santiago able to go to shortstop." "Anywhere is fine with me," Inge said. "Just happy to be back in there."

gota love the attitude by Inge, willing to play anywhere to help the team

:lmao: And, no, I don't care that he went deep. He sucks.

It's not like he's throwing gas for the first 6-7 innings, he does that so he can dial it up in the clutch when he needs to. I'd be fine with him throwing 130 pitches just about every night out.

I haven't seen anything like this in my lifetime.

Gotta love the local media on twitter on a night like this. Leylands pressed will be interesting and Inge talking to the media..lol

JV is sick. I'm glad he got to finish that.

I'd rather lose with Verlander than lose with Big Potato any day. If you give him the ball in the 9th, you have to let him finish. Best pitcher in franchise history, love him.

glad to see Leyland made the right call. Pretty gutsy with that pitch count too......he might have been right in keeping Inge too. It is just one hit, but it was a big one. Inge is ok as a utility guy, don't like him as a DH so much.

Not something you want to happen every outing. Too much wear over an entire season.

I think it's the way the little D-Bag runs. He doesn't pump his arms at all, just sort of dangles them out in front. His HR made me throw up in my mouth a little watching him tippy-toe around the bases, not using his arms. (Yes, I've become a full blown hater.) And for goodness sake, somebody inform him of how stupid he looks with the high socks look. Most don't pull that off well....Granderson is one of the few. But TwInge just looks like a little #### kid when he sports that look.
