Jimenez is walking 6 guys per 9IP this year. Tigers need to be patient.
Cabrera was ...but Prince pulled a big O-fer. :kicksrock:
Three run homer and nothing else. Not sure why anyone is surprised, same #### every single night. Bad approaches at the plate tell me the team isn't prepared and has no gameplan, that process belongs to Lloyd and ultimately Leyland. I do like Leyland for the most part, but every year I resent him more and more for having guys like Lamont and Lloyd on the payroll. I think at some point Dombrowski has to say enough is enough, getting swept in Cleveland might be that point to be honest.

I completely agree but I'm not holding my breath that Lloyd will be replaced. He should be though because this is not much different than getting rid of Knapp when the pitchers were struggling.

was Knapp a "leyland" guy? seems he would be more loyal to Lamont and Lloyd. I dont think either of them go anywhere.

I'm looking at a printable Tigers schedule online...why do they mark some home games "premium" and some games "regular"? Looking for a Thurs day game over the summer in Pitt or Det to take the kiddo to and that StL game is a strong possibility. Also, what would you say are the best bang for my buck seats in the park? I'm not looking to spend On-Deck Circle dollars...but the Upper Box options, RF Grandstands and Club Seats seem like good options. I'm not sure about the $25 and under seats. I realize the park is probably like Progressive Field in that there are no bad seats, but I'm def willing to pay middle of the road prices for better seats if that makes sense.
I'm looking at that Thursday day game against St. Louis on Stubhub right now. Section 102 in RF, the bleachers, 2-4 tickets in row F (front row of section). $ 39.00 apiece. You cannot go wrong. I've gotten those seats many times and love them. You're in right center and you have an unblocked, straight on view of the game. You see everything and the tix are relatively inexpensive. Purchase them, you won't be sorry.
Thanks for the info. Still trying to figure out if we want to head to Detroit....or Pittsburgh on July 4th.

Can't get a guy in with bases loaded and no outs. Unbelievable.

Second time they've left the bases loaded. That pitch to Cabrera was a ball but the ump did give Fister the exact same call a bit earlier.

This home plate umpire can blow me. That pitch to Cabera was 6 inches outside the strike zone, ####### #######.
wrong
K zone showed it was way out of the box genius. Not even close and this guy has been horrible all day. Is this your first time watching a baseball game?
you are adorable.kzone on my tv showed strike. so now what snapperhead?
:lmao: no it didn'tI'm not even sure how to argue with dumb Cleveland fans.

I don't know what channel you are watching, but on Sports Time Ohio their zone showed it as a strike. In either case it wasn't 6 inches outside. Santana just framed it poorly. You're seriously trying to argue what I saw on my tv?

There was more black between the K zone box and that pitch than there is between Atlanta and Mobile. Nice throw Fielder.

Tiger's bullpen is just a huge disappointment. I wasn't expecting much, but it is terrible. Hitting has been the suck too.

Well that wasn't Coke's fault today, not at all. I'm trying to figure out how the Tigers can move Cabrera back to 1B and have Fielder as DH when Victor comes back, maybe he can play rover. I still don't think the infield is as bad as I thought it would be, but Fielder really is bad. I don't even care about the range, him dropping throws to first which he should have and making critical throwing errors like he did tonight on a simple play...really is worrisome.

The difference between a good team and a bad team was that 8th inning. We're terrible.
Yep. When they loaded the bases I sent my buddy a text:
Well here comes more stranded runners
Peralta who has been one of the better hitters lately swung at a ball in the dirt, Santiago is a fill so I don't blame him and then Avila looks at a close pitch (which was a strike) on a 3-2 count with a homeplate ump that was all over the place. Last night and for several weeks now, they get all their runs off home runs. How about an inning with a single, walk, sac bunt, single? With the starting pitching they are going to be in every series/game and it is going to get more and more frustrating, much more than it was in 2008. The other teams in the division are playing with zero expectations and won't feel any pressure until August. I'm guessing they'll put a run together soon but they'll revert right back to being a team that can't score runs on singles or be patient enough to draw walks against a terrible pitcher like Ubaldo Jiminez. They badly miss VMart and our best player this year is going to be out for an extended period it seems. Not good.

They drew like 8 walks the other night, 6 off Ubaldo. That seems pretty good.

The tigers went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 last night. The tigers have a good share of money invested in big sticks, they need to wake up.

aren't you a Browns fan? Browns and Tigers?
He must be from toledo. They have weird allegiances. I knew a guy from Toledo who was a Wings/Tigers/Bengals/OhioState fan.
:goodposting: Live in Cleveland now but my roots with the Tigers and the Wolverines will never die.
Atta boy! Impregnate all the women and slowly weed out the weak in that town.

They are 12th in the AL in walks Cleveland troll. Why don't you head down to the ballpark and push the attendance over 20k?

We're just so hot and cold. One night we get the walks, then we don't. Avila gets a clutch hit one night, then freezes on another (as he also did a week ago or so as I recall). Coke is great; then ..not.

Eeaaaasssyyy there, Bitterman. You specifically said they couldn't draw walks off Ubaldo, which they did. If you meant they haven't been drawing walks all year, you should have said that. Don't worry Tilty Tilterson, in less than an hour you can start rubbing one out to Verlander.

I like your nickname parade, Dooshy McDooshenstein.

What's crazy is they should have drawn even more walks, Delmon and Prince specifically were hacking away when Usucko couldn't throw strikes. After he was pulled I was blown away he had so many walks seeing how many bad pitches early in the count some of our guys were swinging at.

That was my point, could have been 14 walks.

Delmon refuses to let the 1st pitch go by.
Hopefully he gets on a tear in June or July and we can trade him for some bullpen help, even when he was hitting last year his plate approach bothered me. Didn't say anything because he was producing, now that he's not he can't get out of town fast enough. Silver lining, if we find our way out of this funk and we can't move him when Victor comes back Delmon becomes a bench bat.

Hey Cleveland, take him back.
No thanks.
:goodposting: :goodposting: :goodposting: I had a party when he left town.
As that Detroit fan in town that loved making fun of the Indians for having to deal with him my phone blew up when that trade went down. The tables had turned. But I was more upset when we re-signed him. He is the king of the meaningless 3 run homer in a 9-1 ball game and his defense is why I am still reluctant to buy into 'advanced statistics' that try to convince me he doesn't suck at short.

I think we are looking at a couple of wins in a row..a couple of losses in a row..and Verlander. Looks like this team will struggle to get to 85 wins. Will 85 be enough?
