Let's hope the pitching arms hold up - 5 games in 4 days ...and that after having to tap the bullpen quite hard over the past week. If needed, maybe Iglesius can pitch an inning using that sidearm flip of his.
:finger:That was a good win today, even against that team.Five games vs the Royals, here we go!Well all the excitement and positivity about the win streak is gone now.![]()

Looks like they are calling up Alvarez again. So who gets the start tomorrow night? Mario and Rod had conflicting info on yesterday's broadcast, with Mario thinking it was going to be someone from Toledo and Rod thought it would be someone from the pen (possibly Bonderman).
Pitchers: (KAN) James Shields ® (DET) Justin Verlander ®
Pitchers: (KAN) Danny Duffy (L) (DET) Jose Alvarez (L)
Makes sense. If needed, they could bring in Bonderman or Smyly for a middle stretch of innings. I sure hope the team gets their mojo back now that this series actually, you know, means something.Looks like they are calling up Alvarez again. So who gets the start tomorrow night? Arguably one of the best hitters ever for the combo of average and power. Not a stat guru but I am sure that DD could dig something up.best player.........ever?

Man we are lucky to have a front row seat for Cabrera. Amazing.
Now 39 for 79 with 13 HRs when putting the first pitch in play.![]()
Ties Dimaggio with 361 HRs - 77th all-time (11 seasons, age 30)
Ridiculous stat of all time
JD had 372 Strikeouts LIFETIME......
and he got to bang Marylin Monroe

It helps he leads the majors in run support at 6.04. But he is the only American League pitcher with a WHIP under 1 (0.90). Easily the front runner for Cy Young. Maybe Felix Hernadez will push him. Probably one of the top contenders for MVP also, but Cabrera has been ridiculous lately. Probably Cabrera, Davis, Trout, and Max right now.18-1 is pretty silly.
Red Sox have Xander Bogaerts, who is a top five prospect they are calling up today. They'll be ok.Jose Iglesias makes plays every night that Peralta would never make. I think Boston is going to regret giving this guy up. Boston made out OK in the trade, but Iglesias is something special.
I think because he isnt healthy he is just trying to hit a home run everytime up. Its workingWhat if he were healthy?![]()

I heard an interview with Max and he did give credit to the tremendous run support he has received this season. Saying it it much easier to pitch when you are winning than down 1-2 runs. Said when he was losing games he would overthow for Ks, when winning he said just concentrate on throwing stikes. That is why his pitch count is down quite a bit from last seasin heading in the the 5-6-7th inning. It helps he leads the majors in run support at 6.04. Makes sense about pitching in the lead. I don't think Max will steal a lot of MVP votes. He's winning a lot of games because of the offensive support, so voters might not feel he's the one creating value to the team. Max has a serious shot at Cy Young ..but throw Darvish in the mix, too, given a number of dominating games (even if they are against Houston).I heard an interview with Max and he did give credit to the tremendous run support he has received this season. Tigers had two young RH outfielders and Red Sox had two young shortstops. Perfect trade for both.
Trading from strength is one thing, dealing a player with elite talent is something else. Time will tell, but Iglesias will have to really stink things up at the plate not to be an all-star."Dealing from strength" is an underrated saying.Red Sox have Xander Bogaerts, who is a top five prospect they are calling up today. I thought Peralta was doing a nice job at SS until I saw Iggy out there. Peralta was solid on anything hit right at at him. Iggy literally takes hits away almost every game.Porcello for one has to thank God everytime he goes out with Iglesias out there. With Cabrera and Peralta on the left side, there was a large gapping hole there.
I only saw Peralta a few times live and was very disappointed. At least 5 balls which were playable he made zero effort on. he has great hands, but zero desire to get dirty.I thought Peralta was doing a nice job at SS until I saw Iggy out there. But there are SS who have a hundred more assists than Peralta. Give Iggy a full season, he may make more errors, but he will have made 200 more plays.#1 in baseball at SS fielding percentage.I only saw Peralta a few times live and was very disappointed. Besides if the Tigers do win the WS all you will here from sux fans is how the Tigers cheated. Peralta is not coming back and I think the Tigers are a better team with Iggy anyways. But Peralta is still one of the better SS in the league, but Iggy's defense is that good.Another thing that makes Jose better than Jhonny is that he can eat clam chowder without getting sick.
