One Hundred Pushups (1 Viewer)

So did it work for anyone? I'd rather not read 800 posts to find out if anyone went from 20 to 100 pushups in six weeks.
I went from 25 to 100 in 5 weeks. I then quit and can probably do 60 or so now - switched to weightroom type work.
How much do you weigh?
During the time I was doing this I went from 210 to 170 or so. Still at 170.
You lost 40 lbs. by doing just pushups?

Oh no. Lots of different things - mostly biking, though. The weight loss sure helped in getting to 100 consecutive, though.

I did the program and was able to do 100 easy after finishing. Strangely, I've maybe done 50 pushups since getting to the 100 plateau. I was diligent in getting there and then lost all interest.

I find I'm like this in other hobbies.

I noticed that there are 200 sit-up, 200 squat and 25 pull-up challenges on the site as well. Anyone do these? If I were to attempt all 4 at the same time, will it absolutely result in my own demise? Should this be a poll?

I think I am going to try the pushups, situps, and squats together.

May have to give this another go in the midst of a major health kick. Need to drop about 20 lbs and tone up.

I have not attempted the 100 push up program yet. I am trying to convince my kids to try it if I do - they are both into sports and this could only be good for them (although bad for me).

Also, has anyone seen they now also have programs for 200 sit ups, 200 squats, and - coming soon - 25 pull ups. Good Lord!

I didn't realize at the time that the 25 pullups wasn't an option just yet. So, I did start doing pushups, situps and squats together. Only at the beginning of week one. This won't kill me, but it may hurt me real good.

Holy crap 25 pull ups. I think the most I have ever done (in a row) is 8...

I lift pretty regularly and just dropped and did some pushups just to see how many I could do after seeing this thread. 82 but I'm not sure how legit some of them were. I think my head is going to explode.

Yeah, that is BS - during that timeframe was the same time I was losing that weight. My command of the written language sucks sometimes. I lost the weight in 5-6 months. I did the pushups in 5 weeks.

I started this last Wednesday. I'm already seeing good progress. Each day has been a challenge, but its manageable with the way the program is broken down.

Anyone else still going with this?

Gonna start it (again) tomorrow
Initial Test in @ 27
Week 1 complete - max 35
Week 2 complete - max44Would've never thought I'd have a 67% increase in just 2 weeks
Week 3 complete - max 38This week was definitely tougher....maxed 33/34/38 on the 3days. I'm ***officially*** worried about week 4
Week 4 complete - max 53Very surprised with my results this week...maxed 42/44/53. I did rest a little bit longer before my max on day 3 bc i got a phone call that i had to take.Gonna to an exhaustion test on Friday

This happened to me. I didnt make it to 100 but lost interest and stopped all together. I did however go back to doing 50 a day and it isnt a hassle so I should keep it up

I'd followed it through some time back and got to 100 (I had been on a steady push-up/sit-up routine already, just not with this intensity). Like Sand, I'd probably max out at 60 or so right now.

Same here

Will start this on Monday. Tested today with max at 25. Surprised me b/c I thought I'd do less, but ticked me off b/c in High School I could do 60 in a minute. We'll see if I can stick with it.

Started this on Monday. On day three today. On Wednesday, I was particularly sore. Today, not so much. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the difference the two days have made, even if they are just a placebo at this point.

Yea.. that's crazy. I'm at 228 and can get 10. I should probably weigh under 210... but that still wouldn't put me anywhere near 25.

Could only max 55 today on the exhaustion test

OK, started today and I'm already disappointed. Since I did 25 I started at week 3 (as per the recommendations of the program) using the middle column. Got through the first two sets ok. On the third set I was really struggling to finish. Fourth set I had to do the second half as knee-pushups, same with the entire 5th set (only got to the minimum of 17). Should I be starting on a lower column or back on week 2? Is this normal. It seemed that the majority of the weakness was coming from my triceps. If it matters, I do no other strength training at all (haven't for YEARS) and the only other exercise I do is running. Advice?

I'm in Week 4, and am liking the progress I've made even though the gains have slowed recently.
I started February 10th, and have just finished week 5. Exhaustion test coming up tonight, but I'd guess I'll hit 65-70. Still a long way to go to get to 100, but when I started I was at 21, so the gains are still pretty big.

Nice!I stopped doing the program a while back, but I'm up to ~60 or so from doing some other workouts and things. What a difference.

I did this in summer of 08 and can not recommend it enough. I got to 100 pushups in the 6 weeks and my wife noticed definite improvement in my body habitus. I've since joined a gym and I'm working hard to get in shape. Good luck to those of you trying, its a good goal to chase.

Not going through the thread, but I today discovered there is an iPhone app with this program. I started on it. Seems like a good way to stay motivated and stay on track.

I'm assuming I must take off a day between each? (I'm guessing tomorrow I'll be pretty sore anyway)

I'm starting today. Gonna do push-ups, sit-ups, squats and pull-ups. Looks like I'll have to make up my own program for the pull-ups.

Initial test puts me at:40 pushups50 situps40 squats16 pull-upsPushups and pull-ups should be a breeze. I've never seen the point in doing a leg exercise before so squats could get tough. Couldn't believe how hard it is to do a bunch of sit-ups. Are you allowed to lock your feet on something? Would it be cheating if I just did crunches?
