Online Draft Software (1 Viewer)

AATE

My live league has to resort to an online draft this year. We're still going to play through ESPN, but I don't like their live draft software. Is there anything that I can use that I can control more as the league manager? Basically, I'd like to be able to make picks for people if they fall offline or undo picks if people make mistakes. Even if there's something that I can install on my existing website, I'd be happy. Any thoughts?

Also, great forum!

Welcome.Check out Myfantasyleague.com which can be used just for drafting.

I have always drafted on the same site that our league is hosted on... How long have you used ESPN though? Have you used anything else? I used ESPN for the first time last year and I HATED it. If its not too late I would actually recommend going to a new site to draff AND host your league. I have used fanball, cbssportline.com, myfantasyleague.com, yahoo.com...ALL of which are a lot better than the ESPN league I did.... Sorry that did really answer your question...but just my :hangover:

FLM is their "sister" program, that might work for you to. Not sure what you're looking for with the "has to resort to an online draft" line.MFL is on the web, FLM is a program on your computer. Each similarly great

I used RTSports last season for another league and hated it. I also can't stand Yahoo. ESPN has had some random problems while I've used it, but overall I think the site's pretty smooth.I looked at MFL but can't see a draft application separate from a league? Would I need to do a trial league, then draft, then just not activate the league? Thanks for your help.

Normally we get together, get hammered, and draft. This year, like half the league has new babies or has moved away, so we're going for an online draft. Our ESPN league has been going for several years, and it tracks history, so I'm tentative to lose that. We'll need a real online draft this year.

I'm in a couple leagues at Fleaflicker.com. Really like the site, the draft software is pretty good. I don't how adaptable it is as far as having the commish make picks for other owners, but the help forums there get answered by the owner so you should be able to find out. You could start a league and try a mock draft to get a feel for the software. I don't like the way the AI makes picks, but since you're not concerned about that I don't think it would be an issue.

One of my leagues used ESPN for years but finally dropped it last year (ironically after it became free) because their live draft software sucked. We moved to AOL and it worked very well.

AOL may finally have gotten enough servers (well, FanDraft since AOL's service is through them), but it's been my experience that the closer to the start of the season, the more problems you'll have for your draft. Two years running we've had the live draft lock up a few times on us. I like all the options it gives and how it works, but dealing with the lockups was very frustrating. We actually had to postpone our draft for a night the one year.
