CNN reporting that the operation involved pakistani intelligence...details are yet to emerge...i'm wondering if it would have been possible to take him alive, which would have had many obvious intelligence benefits...though he could have attempted (or committed) suicide, or given orders for others to do it, if he knew he might be taken alive...it would have been great if some kind of stun gas could have been delivered (like the ill fated russian counter-terrorism op from a few years ago - where unfortunately many civilians died because not enough antidote could be delivered quickly enough)*...* not criticizing, just sayin, ideally... very likely taking him alive wasn't possible...
