Well I would certainly miss you...was that less than sign a typo? Also as I have said before, I don't see it as being PC- just respectful. The removal of beautiful women over 50 thread was ridiculous IMO. The yoga pants one mostly as well since 90% of the picures there were being posted with the intention of impressing people with their butts. It was only the Hottest threads that I thought were particularly bad. I know Krista (one of our few female members) didn't care for them. So as a matter of respect to her alone, I don't have an issue with those going.
Odd that at the same time, one key figure of the board is being called a Neo-conspiracy theorist and another has been called an alt-right conspiracy theorist.

Right, that was always the line for me. The as for distasteful comments made in the IG /yoga threads, that should be policed individually just like any other thread IMO. But like you said, the reason I come is for the people and the interesting discussions.

This is not really true based on what she just posted. All she said is that she cringed at a few comments which happens in almost any thread for any topic. You can read her full thoughts here. She clearly stated she was never offended by those threads..

Ok, fair. I know the topic came up in the past in totally unrelated thread. Maybe offended was the wrong word- but she definitely had negative things to say about them. Thanks for the link and in no way was I trying to mischaracterize her- just remembered the conversation poorly.

Sometimes I will buy shirts on vacations, as long as I am going somewhere that the recipient doesn't live. I appreciate your thoughts and the respect thrown my way. Sometimes the direction those threads went was more than cringe-worthy, so you're not wrong that I didn't like them in some cases. As one of the only women around here, it's to be expected that some of the discussions will border on offensiveness for me. Rarely do they cross that line, though, and those that do tend to be in nature of insults to women, not objectification. Discussions like the "oddly attractive" or "over 50" threads don't even come close.
I'd read your thoughts in the other thread and thought they deserved to stand on their own lest I comment on them. So I left them alone, as I did with most others.
It's my impression that the changes don't come from a desire to be PC so much as a desire to be puritanical and possibly paternalistic. Probably the most offensive thing on this site to me is the fact that the word v a g i n a is censored (and penis is not). It all goes into a larger bucket of shaming about women's bodies, as if they are to be hidden, and as if women need to be protected somehow from men's baser instincts.
Re otb, I'm really sorry to see him go, too. He is gold in the movie and music threads.
